The End of the Line is a work of fiction set in what is known today as Lake Louise, Alberta, but in 1884 was the end of steel for the Canadian Pacific mainline, and was also known as Holt City, The Summit, and later Laggan. While it is based in a real place, and set amid real events in Canada’s history, the characters and events portrayed in this novel are products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to real characters or events is coincidental.
