Nobody Can Love You Like Them Roughnecks Do 2

“He’s such a loser!” Penni, Priscilla’s baby girl shook, her head.
“Penni, what did I say about calling people losers? Especially your own brother.” Priscilla scolded her.
“Sorry.”
“You got a Regina George on your hands already,” I joked, and Priscilla rolled her eyes playfully.
Just as I got ready to turn the TV off, I saw Belly pop up on the screen. He was doing some sort of press conference, and he looked so handsome in the suit he was wearing. The hair on his head and face were trimmed very neatly per usual, and every time he smiled widely, I got a tingle throughout my body. Why? Why the fuck was I still in love with him? He was a womanizing asshole that played me and made me fall in love with him, knowing he wasn’t ready. I felt myself squeezing the remote at my thoughts.
“Mr. Khalil, the word is you’re going to make three million dollars for this next fight. That’s the most you’ve earned for a fight. How does it feel?”
I cut the TV off before he could answer and then grabbed my purse and baby. Priscilla said nothing as we left my condo to head downstairs. As soon as we walked through, Gary stopped me, pointing to a man seated at one of the tables in the lobby.
“Miss Cansino?” the man inquired, staring after Gary gestured toward me, I guess letting him know I was who he was looking for.
“Yes? Can I help you?” I saw he had bags in his hand, one from Tom Ford, another from Balmain, and then Rolex. I had no idea who sent this man, because only a handful knew my address.
“Hi.” He attempted to hand me the bags, so I put Island down to take them. “These are from Mr. Khalil. May I just take a photo for evidence?”
“Umm, yeah, okay.”
The older man quickly took a picture of me holding the bags and then gave me a nod with a smile. All of us headed back up to my condo to place my stuff down, so I gave the babies applesauce pouches to hold them over until the brunch food.
“Those are sexy!” Priscilla exclaimed as I opened the shoes from Tom Ford. They were sandal stilettos but had fur going across the toe strap. They were indeed sexy.
From Balmain, he got me a cute circular bag that was a nice small size. It was so beautiful with velvet material and embroidery on the front. And lastly, he got me a beautiful yellow gold watch from Rolex with VVS diamonds around the face and my initials on the case back.
“I’m gonna wear this one now. I don’t have any watches with my initials or VVS’s.” I removed it and put it on. No matter how much shit my exes bought me, when Belly did it, it meant more to me for some reason. And he always went the extra mile to make it more special, like the engraving.
“Baby daddy is not playing with you, Blaise.” Priscilla giggled.
“I know. I can’t stand him.”
We chuckled before I put my stuff up and then left out to go actually eat brunch this time. After we ate, we took the kids to the park because they loved going, and by the time we left, it was a little after 6 p.m., so we parted ways.
I decided to stop by Diddy Riese, this ice cream shop, because my baby and I fell in love with it after Belly brought us here. And being pregnant had me craving a big ass gourmet ice cream sandwich anyway.
“You know what you want, baby?” I kissed Island’s face as she stared at all the options.
“Cookie!” she shouted eventually, and I should have known that’s what she would want.
“With ice cream?”
“Yeaahhh.” She gave me her pretty smile.
“Well my night is ruined,” I heard a voice say from behind me, and when I looked, I saw Maia walking into the parlor, looking sad as ever. Her curly hair was in a bun piled on top of her head, and she had on a long coat and turtleneck. I didn’t realize it was that cold.
Ignoring her, I turned back around and continued to wait to give my order. I had no plans on entertaining any of Belly’s hoes after whooping Cadence’s ass.
“Yes, two chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with just one scoop, please,” I let the employee know. I switched Island to my other hip so she wouldn’t be on the side with Maia.
“So you’re still fucking with him even though I’m having his baby? Pathetic if you ask me.”
Her mentioning the fact that she was having Belly’s baby caught me off guard, because he’d explained to me that the baby was no longer. So either he lied, or she was off, and knowing his wack ass, it was the former.
“Nope, I’m not. He’s all yours.” I kept my attention on the man making my sandwiches.
She was quiet for a minute, and I felt her looking at the side of my face. I guess that wasn’t the response she was expecting.
“Well good, because I will never leave him alone. No matter who he dates or goes after, I will always be there waiting for him.”
“Wow, I thought that was Kharla’s job, but I guess you are all in it together, huh? Hopefully you win though.”
“I know he had you thinking you were special, with the way he was treating you and stuff, but you’re not.”
“Look Maia, I already said I don’t give a fuck about what you do with Belly and his baby you’re carrying. You’re lucky my daughter is here, otherwise I would have slapped you already for continuously running your mouth.”
She laughed. She was a pretty girl, reminding me of Christina Milian as Paris Morgan.
“Aww, he must have dropped you.” She laughed again. By this time, I was paying for my stuff. She was so gung-ho on harassing me that she paid the employee, attempting to take her order, no mind. “Yep! I called it. These new ones always get dumped. But see me, I’ve been solid. He can’t leave me alone.”
“Damn, I got all that special treatment, and you’ve been around much, much longer but got nothing, yet you still stay around?” I grabbed my paper bag off the counter.
I didn’t care to tell her that Belly hadn’t dropped me, because I knew the truth. And as depressed as she looked, her thinking he dumped me was probably the only thing keeping her from jumping off the ledge.
“We all get that special treatment, boo! So what you got expensive dinners and a few gifts? So did I!”
Lies.
“Oh, where is your Rolex?” I asked, making sure my brand new one was visible.
“Co-Cortez bought that… for you?” She ogled it on my wrist.
“Yep, right after he dumped me. Have a goodnight, boo.” I waltzed out, and she didn’t say a word, I guess baffled.
I set my baby up in her car seat, then placed one of her long bibs on her, before letting her go crazy with only half of her sandwich. She would be taking a bath tonight anyway.
On the ride home, I chose to call Belly, and I hated myself for wanting to talk with him. Dialing his number on the screen in my car, I waited as the line trilled. Just when I was about to hang up, he answered but was out of breath.
“’Sup, fine ass,” he spoke into the phone, sounding as good as he looked.
“I just wanted to thank you for the gifts. You didn’t need to send them though. Gifts won’t help you.”
“I didn’t buy them to get you back. I bought the shit because I love you, and I wanted to do something nice for you.”
“Are you having sex?”
“No, Blaise. I just finished training. Jealous ass.”
“I’m not jealous! Why would I even care if you were fucking? I was just making sure I wasn’t interrupting.”
“Ain’t no pussy I wouldn’t pull out of to holla at you.” His voice was low, and oddly, it turned me on.
“Yeah right. You don’t love me that much, nigga.”
“Nah, I do. But on the real, you calling me means I possibly have a chance to slide up inside you, so I’m def pulling my shit out the next bitch.”
I rolled my eyes.
“You’re so romantic,” I said sarcastically. “Anyway, maybe you should give these gifts to someone else next time. My new nigga may not like you sending me things.”
He cackled so hard that I had to go over what I’d said because I
didn’t recall it being a joke.
“Aight, Blaise. Get these niggas shot, fucked up, or robbed if you want to. And if they from LA, they know Belly, and I doubt they’re ready for any type of issue with me, so good luck.”
“Whatever. I just wanted to say thanks and not to do it again. Also, get ahold of your women. I saw Maia, and she was very bothered, thinking you and I were still a thing. I set it straight.”
“We gon’ always be a thing, fuck you mean?”
He completely ignored me mentioning Maia, which I found slightly funny.
“I’m getting off the phone,” I announced because I was feeling him too much, and that was going backwards.
“Aight, I love you. Kiss Island goodnight for me.”
Without another word, I hung up in his face. I hated his guts but loved him at the same time. Calling him was a mistake for sure.
When Island and I got home, I gave her a bath, brushed her teeth, and then put her to bed. I’d hurriedly placed my ice cream sandwich in the freezer as soon as we arrived, so once I was showered and had the heater on, I curled up in my bed with my dessert on a plate.
As I watched Netflix, my phone buzzed, and I saw it was a text from Nichole, asking me to talk. I ignored it, and since I was on my phone, I went into Instagram to check my notifications.
While on the explore page, I saw a picture that appeared to be Belly and some woman. Tapping it, I confirmed it was in fact him and some bitch I’d seen before, thotting all over Instagram. They weren’t hugged up or anything, just seated next to one another, posing. The photo was from yesterday, something she’d posted, and it was obvious she was happy as hell. Her caption even stated that she had a crush on him; how thirsty.
I checked his page, and it confirmed what I’d expected, that he didn’t post her at all, not even on his story.
“Bitch.” I locked my phone and tuned back into the show I was watching while devouring my sandwich.
Once done, I brushed my teeth and went to bed.
The next morning…
I dropped Island off with my mother since I had to work this morning. I planned to head straight to the set but realized I’d forgotten these shoes I was supposed to wear. I took them home accidentally, so I needed to bring them back with me for the scenes.
When I entered the lobby, I rushed across and through the glass door to the elevator. I had no idea anyone was behind me, until I felt big hands grace my hips from behind.
“Cortez, what the fuck!” I pushed him before walking onto the elevator.
“Pay more attention. I could have been anybody.” He got on with me. We rode up in silence, and when he reached to hold my hand, I snatched away from him. “I see you like the watch.”
“Whatever, nigga.”
He followed me to my door and walked right in behind me. I grabbed the boots, and when I tried to get around him, he wouldn’t allow it.
“Where you going?”
“To work. I need you to move.”
“Come here.” He gripped my waist and pulled me in, rubbing and kissing on me. God help me.
“Let me go. You buy me gifts, tell me you love me, and wanna be all over me, but you were just in the club with another bitch.”
I couldn’t believe I was having his baby. This was a disaster.
“It was a fucking picture, Blaise, that she came at me for. None of these females will ever mean shit to me. I don’t give a fuck what you see on the Internet. A nigga is all about you.”
“Sure. So you didn’t do anything with her?” I finally got out of his embrace.
“Nah. She was just hosting, and I happened to be there. She tried to fuck with me, but I ain’t want it. Too easy.”
“That’s the only reason why?”
“Mainly, since you out here tripping and shit. I’ve never been into thirsty ass females. Plus, I heard her pussy was funky and loose.”
“You’re disgusting. Oh, and Maia let me know she’s still pregnant, liar.” I shoved him lightly, but he didn’t budge much. I wanted to rip his handsome face off.
Shaking his head calmly, he replied, “She’s lying, Blaise. I made her muthafuckin’ ass pee on a stick, and the shit was negative.”
“So you have no babies on the way?”
“None.”
“I don’t know why I’m asking. I don’t even care.” I folded my arms and stared off, making him chuckle for some reason.
“I’m waiting on you though. Soon as you’re ready for it to be me and you, let me know.”
“That won’t happen.”
He started toward me until I was up against the wall, forced to inhale the scent of his Chanel cologne. I looked off to the side, so he craned his neck around to kiss me. I put my hand on his chest to push him, but he pinned my wrists to the wall, pressing his body against mine. I forgot how good he felt.
“You mine forever, Blaise.” He moved his lips down to my neck. “That pussy is mine.” While sucking on my neck, he gave my ass a hard squeeze that almost made me cum, then added, “This too.”
“Cortez, move, seriously. I have to go,” I whined, trying to push his hard body away.
He paused and just looked down into my eyes for a second before pecking me gently.
“I’m gon’ convince yo’ ass to come home to daddy, watch. It’s either that or I make you come home. I’m only giving you time because I know I fucked up, but this bullshit ain’t gon’ last.”
He finally let me go, so I opened the door for him to leave. Once he did, I cleaned myself, changed my panties, and then left out.
Manuel “Manny” Ortiz
“Aye, you seen these?” Ozzy showed me his phone, and on the screen were some pictures Blaise had posted on Instagram. She was in a bathing suit, and the top was short as hell but long sleeved, and the bottoms were a fucking shoestring. Got damn!
“Hell nah I ain’t see these.” I took the phone for a better look. She was breaking my damn heart, and I wasn’t even my brother.
“She fasho top 5.” Siggy laughed, looking over my shoulder. “I’d do whatever the fuck she wanted me to.”
“Aight. We can get up out of this muthafucka.” Belly came from the back. We were at his training session, so we’d been waiting for him to change so we could bounce.
“Aye, nigga. You gotta take a L for not getting this one pregnant.” Cole took Ozzy’s phone from me and handed it to Belly.
“Fuck y’all niggas out here lusting over this shit for!” Belly’s brows dipped between his eyes as he looked down at the picture before tossing the iPhone back to Cole.
“Nah, I wasn’t even… he just showed me… and the nigga had his phone out…” We all clamored together, trying to explain why we were out here getting hard as bricks off Blaise’s pictures.
“Aye, nigga, she’s fair game now,” Ozzy chimed in, prompting Belly to look his way.
“Nigga, what?” Belly dropped his bag to the floor.
“Y’all, come on.” Siggy tried to step up, but Belly put his hand against his chest to stop him.
“Who is fair game?” Belly inquired.
“I’m just saying, like, y’all are broken up, and she’s just one of many, so I can’t see why somebody else can’t move in.” Ozzy shrugged.
Belly chuckled, staring the nigga in the eyes, and nodded.
“I ain’t gon’ knock the shit out yo’ ass because you’re supposedly the homie, but don’t ever come out yo’ mouth and say any more bullshit regarding Blaise being fair game. She ain’t one of many. That’s my only, but even if she was, muthafucka, you can’t have her. And we ain’t broken the fuck up, nigga. She’s on vacation, but her ass will be back.”
“My bad, nigga. I ain’t know it was serious.” Ozzy lied like a muthafucka.
Everybody in the crew could see how different Belly was toward Blaise, despite the fact that he was still fucking Kharla and them.
“With her damn initials on my wrist. Aight, nigga. I need you to unfollow her.”
“Why? It ain’t
even like that, my nigga! You said what you had to fucking say, and I get it! I ain’t gon’ holla at her!” Ozzy hollered.
“Nah, I know you not, but unfollow her.”
“No.”
Calmly, Belly reached into his bag and retrieved a Glock, removing the safety like it was nothing.
“Ozzy, you know this nigga crazy. Just do it,” Cole commented.
Making sure the shit was locked and loaded, Belly repeated himself. “Unfollow her, nigga, or I’m putting some heat in yo’ ass.”
Ozzy stared angrily, nostrils big as a fucking bulls, before pulling his phone from his pocket and doing what Belly had asked.
“You happy!” Ozzy hissed.
“Yep.” Belly grinned, putting the safety back on and slipping his gun into his bag. “Hopefully we don’t have this problem again, my nigga, ’cause I’d have to kill you.”
Without another word, Belly started toward the exit, and we all followed him out, including Ozzy. It was always some shit with these niggas. But that’s what it was when you hung around gang bangers. Thankfully, my mama was too overbearing to allow me to be sucked into that shit. Belly wasn’t as fortunate. Plus, as I grew up, my mama eventually moved me to a nicer area, while Belly and his people were still in the hood. We stayed close though.
“Nigga, did you say Blaise was just on vacation?” I asked him as we headed to the parking lot.
“That’s what the fuck it is. We ain’t broken up; she’s on a fucking mind trip and her ass will be back.”
“That’s the new name for breakups: vacations.” Cole chuckled along with everyone else except Belly. It was quiet before he added, “You still get an L for not knocking her fine ass up.”
“Get yo’ ass shot if you want to.” Belly threw his shit in the trunk as everyone laughed.
We went our separate ways, so I headed straight over to Jasmine’s spot. I was horny as hell and was in need of some pussy right away. Plus, I wanted some guaranteed good shit.
Pulling up to her spot, I checked my surroundings to be sure nobody was outside. This was the hood, so a lot of times, niggas stayed roaming the streets until the wee hours of the morning. Climbing out, I made my way up to the door and texted Jasmine to let me in. She wouldn’t give me a key, and since my son was probably asleep, I ain’t want to wake him up.
