Daddy's Christmas Date

“Spectacular,” the Headmaster says. He turns away and walks toward his desk.

Domino tilts her head and looks at Kole curiously. “How did it get shredded?” She asks, referring to the shirt he stripped. She still looks excited, but the distraction calms her. Kole turns in her direction.

“Laithe thought a knife would do damage to my skin,” he begins. I miss the rest of his statement as I look at his marking. The intricate drawings are clear and beautiful with two faceless souls connected in the center. Because I see only the part of his destiny most relevant to myself, I furrow my brows in confusion. What does this have to do with me?

I widen my eyes in realization.

“I’m your soulmate,” I mutter, not trusting my voice. Kole turns to me and smiles. His white teeth and dimpled smile are gorgeous and I stand, staring at him.

“I’ll leave you two alone,” the Headmaster says, understanding the importance of finding a soulmate. He sets a sealed envelope on the sofa beside me as Domino follows him out of the room, giving us a suggestive look. I look at the letter in anguish.

“Open it,” Kole says. I look at him and don’t give my actions a second thought. I rush into him and crush our lips together. I don’t know what I was expecting, but he is so much more. He wraps an arm around my waist and pulls my body into him so we are linked together in virtually every sense.

His chest is warm and firm beneath my fingertips. One of my arms circle around the back of his neck as my fingers wrap themselves around dark strands of charcoal hair and pull at the tips. One of my arms remains pinned between us, laying gently on his chest. I groan onto his lips as he lifts me with one arm and presses me into the couch.

His lips break from mine and they deliberately work their way down my throat and onto the most tender sections. His touch sends sparks through me and I enjoy being with him. He pulls back as though it pains him to do so and grabs the letter from the table. “Snow, open it,” he demands. I don’t know what motivates me into listening to his demand with open ears, but I grab the letter and tear it open.

Kole sits in front of me on his knees and I lean forward on the couch, staring at the open envelope for a moment. This is from the people that abandoned me as a child and I don’t know how to feel about this letter. I pull it from the envelope slowly and examine the brown tinted paper. While I still have the nerve to do so, I open the letter and begin reading

  My dearest Snow,

Do you know why you are named Snow? Your mother and I had experienced the last snowfall years before you were born. Like many animals and plants in this world, snow became extinct. I’m sure you’ve learned about it, but never seen it.

When your mother became pregnant, we hadn’t the slightest idea what to do with you. She was a mermaid, so she could live in the sea if she pleased, but as an infant, you couldn’t. I am human, but raising a mermaid child would mean death for the both of us, so that was out of the question. We loved you more than you will ever understand, but we had to do what was best for you, and that was Edmund’s Academy for the Gifted. There are schools for the gifted everywhere, but yours is the most prestigious.

Snow, I love you and your mother loved you. Don’t think for a moment that we don’t. Unfortunately, when your mom gave birth, she could not receive medical attention because of her origin. Nobody accepted her kind, so we had to deliver you at home. Your mother did not make it, but she loved you more than you can imagine.

Your mother and I had decided before you were born to send you to the Academy. When people see me walking in with a child, I will no longer be considered human, so as you read this, know that I did all I could to keep you safe. We never left you, Snow. We will always be with you.

I love you my dearest Snow—more than anything.

  Love, Daddy

Tears run down my cheeks by the end of the letter and I set it on my lap. “You weren’t abandoned,” Kole comforts. A small smile finds my lips. My parents aren’t here, but they loved me. I want to be saddened that they are likely both dead, but I never knew them. I never even knew of them. I’m happy that I was loved, despite going my whole life believing the opposite.

I lean into Kole. “I had parents who loved me,” I mutter. The realization that I was never unloved is surreal.

“And you have me,” he says, kissing my temple sweetly. I skim the letter once more and look into his hazel eyes. We caught the murderer, made new friends, and found each other. And on top of everything, I now know I wasn’t abandoned. After all these years, my life finally feels right. I stare into his soft hazel eyes and push a strand of charcoal hair from his face. I couldn’t be happier; because for once, everything is exactly as it should be.

“And I have you,” I agreed whole - heartedly.

  Secret Scene, Daddy’s Christmas Date

  Dani

“So this is where the magic happens, huh?” I had a rare afternoon free and—girl alert—I missed Ty so much I did something completely out of my comfort zone. I put on a dress and brought him lunch.

Ty looked up and smiled that handsome, heart stopping smile that showed off all the years of living he’d done. “Dani, this is a nice surprise. And you smell like…garlic and peppers?” His blonde brows crinkled in confusion at his words and then a nervous laugh escaped.

I laughed along too. “I would be offended if I hadn’t brought these killer sandwiches.” I held up the red and white paper bag from his favorite sandwich shop.

“Where’d you get this?” He stood and held the bag in one hand, me in the other as he planted a hot, wet kiss against my mouth. His firm lips slid across mine and he held me tight, close like I meant something special to him. When he pulled back, he wore that after sex smile that did strange things to my belly.

“I had to make a stop for a consultation and there it was, like a sign that I should bring you lunch.” I couldn’t stop the smile that spread or the surprise at my completely girly reaction to him.

“I’m glad to see you and the sandwich.” He kissed me again and I leaned into him, soaking up his warmth and that clean masculine scent.

“And I’m glad to see you…all dressed up.” Ty wearing jeans was a magnificent sight. Dressed up for a date was even better, but right here like this, with his royal blue sleeves cuffed and pushed up so his tan, well-muscled forearms were on display, he looked like my every fantasy. “Very nice.”

His deep chuckle sounded against my ear and I wrapped my arms around him, enjoying the feel of our bodies pressed tight. “Thank you, babe.”

“No, thank you.” He grinned and clasped our hands together, pulling me towards the long sofa by the bank of windows. There was lots of sun in his big office, shining on the light colored pine that prevented the office from looking too dark and severe. Though his desk was the centerpiece of the room, the round table to one side was clearly meant to hash over details while the long sofa at the other end was for relaxation. Everything inside was blue or gray except the wood and chrome. It was powerful and commanding but so laidback you almost forgot it was all those things. Just like Ty.

  “This place is so you.”

He dropped down on the sofa and pulled me onto his lap with a wide smile. “Yeah? How so?” He smirked as I told him my observations. “Am I really that obvious?”

“I don’t think it’s obvious. I think you are who you are, down to the bone.” I felt my emotions getting too close to the surface and I needed to chill that shit down so I cupped his face and kissed him like I meant it. We were breathless and getting hotter until he pulled us apart. “I like who you are.”

“I like who you are too, Dani. So damn much.” He kissed me again, this time it was a slow boil, growing hotter with every passing seco
nd until it was all I could do to remain on his lap as my only tether to earth. My body grew lighter and lighter, floating as he kissed me until I rocked so hard against him an orgasm shocked me. Him too. “Well now you’re just going to give me a giant ego.”

I laughed and smacked his chest as I slid off, taking a seat beside him to catch my breath. “I don’t know if it’s possible for that ego to get any bigger, Fly Guy.”

With another laugh, he unpacked the bags and we made quick work of lunch while we chatted about nothing and everything. Talking to him was nice. Refreshing. Amusing. “You have no idea how much I needed that. Usually Blake has to force feed me.”

“All work and no play,” I told him and he flashed a sheepish grin.

“I’m a dull boy?” He pouted.

“So dull, I can’t even believe I splurged on this lunch for you.”

Ty laughed and pulled me closer. “Then I guess I’ll just have to show you how exciting being with me can be.”

“Yeah?” I climbed on his lap, my new favorite place in the world, and held his face, looking at those smiling grey eyes as they darkened with desire. “Show me.”

His hands slid up my thighs, pushing the skirt up my legs and letting his fingertips gently graze over my panties until I gasped. His lips and tongue and teeth brushed over my neck, my earlobe, my collarbone. His mouth made love to my flesh, heating it until every inch burned up for him. My hips rocked against him, moaning at the feel of his rock hard length cradled between my bare thighs. “Is that enough of a show?”

“Not quite yet,” I told him, my voice thick and harsh with desire. “Almost.”

He chuckled and then set about showing me just how skilled he could be at being anything but dull. His mouth worked magic on me until I was writhing and ripping my top off, showing off a sexy new set of silver silk that reminded me of his eyes. His gaze darkened and I smiled, slowing down my moves as he tracked my movements. “Fuck you are so beautiful.”

I smiled and tossed the shirt on the floor behind me, capturing his mouth again in a kiss that nearly made me come again, but this time I wasn’t coming without him. I didn’t have to worry though, because Ty’s hands moved swiftly, removing my bra and closing his sweet mouth around a nipple that desperately needed his touch. From the moment his mouth touched mine, I was lost. His body was the only thing I could process, could feel, could experience because it was so all-consuming.

My back arched into him while he moved back and forth between each breast, driving me insane. Then one hand slipped into my panties and his big, slightly rough fingers slid against my clit, slick and hot and wet. I groaned, moaned and said his name in a strangled growl that sounded nothing like me. “Ty.”

He grunted at the sound of his name on my lips, flipped our positions so the heavy weight of his body could press into mine, pushing me closer to the edge. “Dani, I want you.”

“You have me, Ty.” That was even truer than I cared to think about at the moment. “Right here. Wanting you. Needing you.”

“God, Dani. I can’t resist you.” He stood, roughly opening his buttons and ripping off his shirt. My eyes were hooked on his body, eating up every inch of tanned, toned flesh that his clothing revealed. Damn but he was beautiful. And completely naked he was totally irresistible.

“Don’t resist me, Ty because I can’t resist you.” I smiled and then he was on me, kissing me hard and fast, as if he was afraid I would disappear. His hands were all over my body, six or seven places at once and I couldn’t focus on one feeling or another. I just…felt.

His mouth and hands drove me wild as he slid deep, inch by inch, until he was so deep my body instantly pulsed around him. “Dani,” he groaned.

“Give it to me, Ty. I want it. I want you.”

I flashed a smile and the look he shot me sent even more lust lancing through my body. He reared back and thrust deep, pulling a loud cry from me. Happy with my reaction, he pounded hard and fast and I clung to him, hips rolling to meet him every time. I wanted it all, every fucking inch of him until my body boiled with need and my soul called out to him.

I licked his neck, sank my teeth into his shoulder and he lost it, palming my hips to hold me wide open to him. He thrust deeper and faster, his face twisted in heated determination and it was all about me. He was focused on my pleasure. My happiness.

And I was so fucking close. “Ty.”

“Let go, Dani. I’m with you.”

The best six words I’d heard all morning. He moved slow and deep, shivers raced up and down my body as he gave it all to me. He gave me everything he had and then some and when I flew apart, I felt like I was having an out of body experience. I could see us, both of us, faces twisted in ecstasy as we screamed out our mutual pleasure. Our bodies soared together, slick with sweat and spent desire as we collapsed on each other. “Damn,” I whispered. “I am a big fan of afternoon delight!”

He chuckled and pressed a kiss to my neck. “Yeah me too. How will I ever get anything done in this room now?”

  “Motivation?”

“Honey just seeing you is motivation enough for me.”

“Yeah? Well it just so happens that I have the day free, and that table looks incredibly…sturdy.”

He looked at the table and then back to me with an amused expression. “Did you bring more fuel?”

“Don’t guys like you have assistants who do things like fetch lunch?” He didn’t move, just reached for a phone on the table behind me and placed an order.

  “Now, about that table.”
