Noble shook his head. “It wasn’t meant for her. It was all a big mistake.”

Jet looked like he was about to explode. “Someone better be fessing up!” he shouted, so all the men could hear.

“It was my drink.” A young cowhand stepped forward. “I gave it to her.”

Jet swung his raging gaze over and lunged for the kid who spoke up.

Noble stepped in and grabbed him by the shirt to try to stop his momentum.

Jet roared and punched Noble in the face.

The young cowboy jumped in and then other cowboys all wrestled Jet to the ground.

Brea gasped and covered her mouth with her hand.

“Yep, that’s my bro, punch first, ask questions later.” Cole shrugged next to her. “Well…he did ask, but he didn’t wait for the answers.”

“Cole, they are gonna hurt him!”

He gazed over at her. “I thought you wanted him in the ground with no grave marker?”

“Well, he is defending Maggie’s honor…”

Cole looked thoughtful as he kept his eyes on the scene through the window. “Yeah, I never seen him do that for any girl.”

The men had Jet pinned down in a cowboy stacked dog pile.

Suddenly, a scream came from the side yard and here came Brea’s little sister, carrying a two by four. Maggie then stopped at the pile of men and started whacking their backs while yelling, “Get the hell off him!”

Cole started to chuckle at the sight as all the men rolled off and scattered away like chickens running from the fox who broke into the hen house.

Brea sucked in her breath and turned to head out of the room.

Cole caught her arm. “Let them handle this Brea.”

  “But—?”

He shook his head and tugged her back to the window.

The men all leapt off till there was only the young cowhand, Noble and Jet. The kid and Noble finally stood up.

Maggie raised the board up high threatening them with the wooden weapon.

The two men jumped back with stunned expressions.

“Yeah, she may have a different last name but she’s a Plush all right.” Cole chuckled some more.

Brea rolled her eyes as she kept her focus locked on the group.

Jet leapt up. Blood was trickling from his lip and his nose.

“Are you all right?” Maggie asked.

He stared at her as though he hadn’t expected to see her at all. His expression instantly morphed from rage to a softer look. “What—what are you doing out here?”

She lowered the wood. “I heard it and saw them gang up on you.”

Jet swiped his sleeve over his bloodied lip as his chest heaved with heavy breaths. “I had it handled.”

Maggie tossed the board with a slam to the ground and placed her hands on her hips. “By handled, you mean you were getting your ass handed to you?”

Cole laughed outright from beside Brea.

Brea nudged him in the ribs with her elbow. “Shhh, they’ll hear us.”

He grinned and shook his head. “Spy much?”

Again, she rolled her eyes as her gaze never left the yard.

  Jet was glaring at Maggie.

The yard went silent as the men all edged closer to hear what was going on and the other two dog-piling cowboys looked poised to defend themselves.

Jet then tilted his head back and laughed loudly.

Everyone around looked like they all got punched in the gut as they gaped at him.

He kept laughing as he put his arm around her shoulder and led her away.

The men gawked at the receding couple then they all glanced at each other in confusion while mumbling to each other.

“Well, I’ll be God dammed,” Cole whispered from beside her as his eyes remained glued to the couple moving away.

  “What?” Brea asked.

“That wasn’t like Jet at all. He’s all about ego and how he looks, especially in front of the cowhands. Remember how he challenged Wade in the bull arena? That was all about image.”

Brea shut the window and tilted her head at him. “I don’t follow.”

“He literally moved away from a fight just now. In fact, the minute he saw Maggie, he forgot about everything else.” He shook his head while looking bemused. “He didn’t care what the men thought or how it looked. Even after she challenged him with that line about him gettin’ beat and in front of all the men!”

Brea creased her brow. “All because of Maggie? Is that what you mean?”

Cole pulled her close and lifted her up to his chest “Yes, I’m saying that when a guy, well especially a guy like Jet, meets his match or someone he cares about more than himself or more than what his image looks like…” He let out a breath. “Well, I just never thought I would see the day!”

“So, he does care about her…” Brea bit at her lip.

Cole leaned close and licked where she was biting. “Not like I do for you, but if she’s anything like you sweet Brea?” He pressed his lips close to hers. “He will be wrapped around her pinky, pretty God dammed quick.”

Brea flushed. “How did I get so lucky?”

“No, I’m the one who lucked out when you almost ran me over in that broken down wreck of a POS you were driving.”

Brea gasped like she’d been insulted and pulled her head back. “I loved that car!”

“I’m just relieved your taste in men is better than your choice of vehicles.” He chuckled heartily.

  She joined his laughter.

Putting his arms around her, he kissed her deeply.

That feeling of euphoria claimed her again, his kisses just got better and better. Her heart was pounding and she kissed him back for all she was worth.

He pulled his lips away, scooped her up, then turned and headed for the bathroom. He seemed to have a solid purpose for sure.

Brea just held on, wondering what he was thinking.

He set her down on the vanity chair in front of the mirrored counter. Then he went over to the large summer tub, put in the plug and started the water.

Brea’s chest tightened while she suddenly realized what he intended.

Silently, he went over to a cabinet, pulled out some candles and the bubble bath.

Oh, my lord. He remembered the bath I was setting up when…Then I came out to my living room and he was gone after he found that stupid list. She gulped as he poured in the rose scented bubble soap.

Next, he walked over to the vanity and leaned forward, pressing his hard body against her, reaching behind her to pull the drawer out. Reaching for the matches, he halted to puff a hot breath into her ear.

Brea gulped again and fought off a Cole induced shiver.

He grinned at her, then stepped back and set three candles out.

Watching him, her body grew warm. Was it a lifetime ago? When I dreamed about this cowboy while in my bath? Wishing he was there with me? I even fantasized and did things—well that song comes to mind. When I think about you, I touch myself…She stifled a giggle. She started to hum it. I don’t want anybody else, cause when I think about you—

Cole turned around and stared at her.

Her cheeks grew hot as she halted in mid-hum.

  “What was that?” he asked.

  “What?” she asked back innocently.

He strode over, grabbed her pajama top and tugged it off as if it were an everyday thing…stripping her down for a bath. “That tune.”

  “Umm, tune?”

  “Don’t be that girl.”

  “What girl?”

“The one, who tries to be coy, keeps stuff to herself.”

Brea gazed into his eyes as the cool air hit her bare chest.

His eyes dropped to her bare breasts.

Her gaze followed his downward to see her nipples were erect. Deciding to be bold, she raised her fingers and passed them over her nipples.

Cole looked like he might break out into a cold sweat. He grunted low, then lowered his sweat pants.

&
nbsp; At the sexy taunt, her eyes rounded.

His lips tilted up into a sensual smile as he folded them just below his rising erection.

Brea gulped heavily. Those men at the stud ranch got nothing on this cowboy! He was built so large and so…gulp. But she decided to play this all the way out as she placed her hands underneath her large boobs and raised them up while staring at his face and then did a long swipe with her tongue over her lips. All the while, watching him.

His large frame seemed to go rigid as Cole visibly swallowed and slowly raised his hand up.

Holding her breath, Brea watched every move he made.

Cole palmed his cock and gave it a slow openhanded stroke.

Holy hell! Her body shuddered. So sexy, so yummy. This god like cowboy was hers? All hers? Really? She was too invested to back down now, so she gathered up her courage and knew how to carry a note fairly well…she started to sing, “I don’t want anybody else and when I think about you…” She lowered her hand to her pajama pants, slipping her fingers in to rub her button. “...I touch myself.”

His breath seemed to leave his lungs as his hand slowly dropped away and he looked awe struck.

And…BAM! I won that round! She smirked at him.

He cleared his throat and looked befuddled. “That was what you were humming!”

Nodding, she rose up and tugged her bottoms off. Then tiptoed to the bathtub, bending over on purpose, instead of kneeling down and shut the water off. She heard his intake of breath from behind her. Then his arms came around her. His body was hot against her back.

Cole picked her up and set her into the tub. He then got in behind her and slid his body down into the bubbles.

“Oh, wow! We’re finally gonna…” Brea halted and snapped her mouth shut.

  “What was that?” he asked.

“Nothing, I meant…well—nothing.” She couldn’t come up with a plausible lie.

He reached around her and grasped one nipple, then lowered his fingers to her clit.

“Ohhh.” Brea let out a fluttery sigh.

Cole rubbed and pinched her lady parts effectively for a full minute, then he spoke, “Are you gonna fess up?”

Brea pursed her lips as her body was tamping up. It was getting hotter and hotter in this tub! “Fess—up?”

He lowered his lips to her neck and his hot mouth suckled her there.

The combo of the ‘Cole’ induced sensations just tilted the scales as she slipped into panting now. “Oh, myyy GOD!” she exclaimed breathlessly.

Pulling his mouth away, he whispered, “We are finally going to what?”

Her body shook and she knew he was using his best moves for this interrogation. What will he think when I tell him? “When—I mean—well, before we…”

At her cute stammering, he chuckled. “Take your time. But you will tell me.” He slipped a finger inside her opening and dropped his lips back to her neck.

“After work I would—take a bath and….” Her voice fell away as he pumped his fingers in and out while tweaking her nipple. In defeat, her head dropped back. “God Dammit Cole, I won’t even know my own name soon!”

He halted his movements and pulled his fingers out.

“OH—NO!” she yelled. “Don’t stop!” she whined.

He laughed. “Nope, you gotta finish telling me first.”

“Oh, damn. You may want to just run away after I tell you.”

With a sigh, he wrapped his arms around her. “Never. Gonna. Happen.”

Letting out a breath, she dove in, “I used to fantasize about you being in the tub with me. I—I would—play with myself and pretend it was you.” Silence filled the room as she waited for his response.

“Really?” he whispered to her ear.

At his hot breath and deep voice, she shivered despite the warm water. “Yeah, it was a running fantasy for several months.”

“Several…” he whispered with an awe stricken tone.

“Do you think I’m depraved or slutty?” she asked in a small voice.

Cole pulled her up, straightened his long powerful legs out in the tub and set her neatly down on his very hard erection.

“Ohh!” she exclaimed with a startled pleasure.

“See how hard it made me? Just visualizing that in my head? Yearning for me like that, while I never even knew it. God dammit, Brea, depraved? You? The sweetest, most luscious prize I ever met? You are heaven sent, woman!” Grabbing onto her hips, Cole raised her up and then slammed her down on him.

Gasping, Brea was already at the edge of climaxing.

“It makes me wanna—I want to pound you. Take you as many times as I can.” He lifted her again up along his hard shaft then down, as the water splashed out of the tub.

“Oh, Tr-ev-o-r…I am c-o-m-ing…” Her instant-orgasm made speech impossible.

His body grew rigid and he held her down onto him tight. “Yeah, and before we are through today…” he halted as he let out a long groan. “…You are gonna come for me again.”

“Ahhh…” Her body was gloriously trapped in the ecstasy that was Cole.

He moaned along with her as his hands left her hips to come around her chest. He held her tightly and rested his chin over her shoulder as he let out a huge sigh. “I will never let you go. I want you beside me for the rest of my life.”

Gulping for air at the squeezing and her breathless climaxing, her heart nearly stopped at his words.

  “Marry me, Brea?”

Okay, now I will drop over dead! My heart will burst and I will die right here in the rose bubbles! “Wh-What?”

“I know you heard me, but I will ask again and AGAIN, till you answer. Brea Harmony Plush of Flatonia Texas USA, will…you…marry…ME?”

“Oh—my Go—” She gulped for more air like a fish out of water, as she started to hyperventilate, huffing and puffing, she couldn’t get any air. Panic seized her. Please let me answer before I die!

“Brea?” Cole shouted in panic as he stood out of the water and hefted her up into his arms. “Brea!”

  CHAPTER FOUR

  Wonder Woman

  MAGGIE

  Cook’s Cottage, Triple K Ranch

Jet led her in through the door and shut it behind him.

Maggie squared her shoulders. “So, what was all that about?”

He shrugged as he strode over to the sink to grab a washcloth and turn the faucet on. “Just a misunderstanding.”

“Oh, really?” She walked over and grabbed the washcloth from his grasp. “So, you all just go WWE when someone says something out of hand?”

Jet stared at her as she raised the cloth to his split lip. “Yeah, you know us cowboys, we tend to get outta hand,” he drawled as he winced.

Maggie turned and rinsed the cloth out. “I heard the last of it. It was about me.” She wrung out the cloth and turned around.

He chuckled. “Ok, Harvard girl, if you knew already why are you asking?”

“Tisk, I went to Boston University, smartass. I want you to tell me what happened last night.” She raised the cloth up to his nose as she stood chest to chest with him.

Jet stood stiffly with his arms at his sides while his face looked tense. “I told you already. You showed me your wares and offered to—”

At the reminder of her supposed slutty behavior, Maggie huffed and swiped his nose a bit roughly.

  “Oww!” he let out.

Maggie flinched and whispered, “Sorry about that.” She wiped more gently. “Not that part. The part about the drink.”

Jet rolled his eyes. “I didn’t get the answers I was looking for because you came in like Wonder Woman to save me.” His lips curled up into a smile. His expression changing as his eyes darkened. “I am picturing you in that outfit too. God dammit that would be hot!”

Maggie halted her swiping. Locking eyes with him as her whole body grew warm. This cowboy is super dangerous and even Wonder Woman would have her hands full. “Not gonna happen.” She fought a smile. “But I know I wo
uld need a lasso and a whip to deal with you.”

He fought his smile as he stuck his tongue out to test the cut on his lower lip.

Maggie watched his tongue action as her throat closed up. Oh yeah, dangerous and Wonder Woman’s whip wouldn’t even protect me. Change of subject! “You need to tell me what all happened and not the double D part either! Question one: How did I get so loaded?”

Jet grinned at her and tugged her close to his wide chest. “You were born loaded,” he snickered.

Maggie pursed her lips and stomped on his boot.

He flinched a tiny bit but held onto her.

“Stop with the one liners you use on the floozies and local skanks, Mr. Kincade!”

This time, he did let go and took a step back as his expression turned solemn. “Dammit! You’re right.”

Maggie blinked her eyes at him. “What?”

Jet sighed and combed his fingers through his hair. “I swore to myself that I wouldn’t be that guy anymore.”

  “What guy?’

“The one you told off at the barbeque, the one who came onto you the minute he met you at the stud ranch.”

His answer stunned her speechless for a second, because this was the last thing she thought he would say. “Well, if that is the guy you really are?”

Looking a little lost, which again, must be foreign to his nature, he shook his head and gazed around at the cottage. “It’s the guy I don’t wanna be anymore.”

Maggie remained silent, she had no idea what he was thinking or why he was telling her this. “Okay, well at least, tell me how we ended up here last night?”

He gazed over at her. “That’s the same subject.”

Maggie wrinkled her brow. “Did we just go full circle here?”

Jet laughed a little. “I was aiming to show you where you would be staying and just talk, but nothing else. Just get to know Maggie Monroe while not hitting on her.”

Okay! I am in way over my head here with this cowboy and getting to a very dangerous place. “Then, how did it happen that you—we ended up in the proverbial sack together then?”

At her question, Jet seemed to halt and look pensive, as he didn’t answer immediately.

“Well?” she urged. “It is the million-dollar question here at the Triple K, Jet. Everyone wants to know the answer, including me. I mean what was all that about this morning?” She sighed and walked over to the table to sit down.
