“How are we doing?” he asked, patting her tummy.
“We are doing just great,” she told him and gave him a kiss. Though the doctor had just told her last month and she hadn’t started to show yet, she was sure she could already feel the life growing inside her.
TJ and Lance came up next, and they both had a kiss for her.
“You finishing up early?” TJ asked her.
“Yeah, and I couldn’t resist coming down here to see the show first.”
“As a matter of fact we were thinking of taking the day off early, too,” Lance told her and gave her a wink.
Ryan put an arm around her waist, and the four of them started to head across the field to their vehicles.
“Why don’t we go back to the house and have a cookout tonight,” Sarah suggested.
“That sounds like a plan.” All three men agreed.
Sarah loved the summer cookouts in the great outdoors and the fireflies dancing across the prairie, and the lonely call of the wolves out in the hills, some of whom she knew personally.
But most of all she loved Ryan, TJ, and Lance. And she loved the future the four of them had together.
