Betrayed (Betrayed #1)

“What can I get you beautiful?” the bartender asks.
“Crown and coke.”
“Hard night?” he asks smiling.
“You have no idea.”
He slides a tall glass to me and I chug it down, smack the glass on the counter and push it back towards him.
“Need another?” He asks amused.
“Yes please and keep em comin,” I say smiling back at him.
Well, the bartenders cute, but not cute enough for what I wanna do. So, I swiveled around on the bar stool to get a better view of the dance floor. Looking around I see absolutely no one hot enough to tempt me, especially after the heated session with Jason. Well, I guess I might as well get drunk and dance. Maybe after dancing a while and some more alcohol I’ll be wearing my beer goggles. That ought to make this easier.
I slammed my glass down on the bar and headed to the dance floor. I walked through the packed crowd pushing through people to find a nice clear spot to shake what my mother didn’t give me because lord knows I got two left feet.
Whistle by Flo Rida was pumping through the speakers. I could feel the bass of the music throughout my whole body. I was moving to the music letting the beat flow through me and felt a hard body press up against me from behind. Neither one of us spoke or acknowledge each other, we just ground our hips together moving to the music.
After three songs I finally turned around to see who my dancing partner is. Well, I did say I was looking for someone hot and let me tell you this man is fine. I looked up and up and even further up. This man had to be six foot seven inches tall with a nice lean build and that’s not the most surprising thing about him. He has silver blonde hair down to his waist and his eyes are a purplish silver color and the most beautiful face I’ve ever seen on a man. But just my luck it had to be none other than Anthony Kincaid staring down back at me.
“Well, well, well, what brings you here Mr. Kincaid? Have some more prophetic ideas for the walls or are you just here to ruin my already fucked up life?”
“Aw sweet Jessica,” he purred, “I’m not here to ruin your night. I heard you went missing and there are a lot of people looking for you.”
“Yeah well since everyone I know has lied to me since birth it’s not anyone important, so they can keep looking because I’m not interested in anything they have to say. Beside I’ve heard more than enough tonight.”
Kincaid just chuckled and held his arm out for me and I wrapped my hand around him and let him lead me to a private booth. I sat across from him silently waiting for him to speak but all he did was stare.
“Is there something on my face or am I just really that interesting to look at?”
“Most definitely interesting to look at,” he replied smirking, “but I’m staring at you because you look so much like your mother.”
“Yeah I get that alot. So tell me, why are you here?”
“Straight to the point just like your father,” he smiled and leaned forward placing his elbows on the table clasping his hands. “You look like your mother but you have your father’s personality. Interesting indeed. To answer your question I’m here to look after you nothing more nothing less.”
“That’s it? You're just here to babysit me? News flash but I’m a little too old to need a babysitter don’t you think?” I said raising my eyebrows and staring him down.
“Too old, yes, but I’m not here to babysit. I’m simply here to keep an eye on you.”
“Now why would you do that? You’ve never even met me before.”
“I made a promise to your father to always look after you and protect you which I have always done since before you were born. Now that you found out what you are I no longer have to hide in the shadows.”
“My father? But he’s dead. You can’t owe a favor to a dead person.”
“Yes your father and my species keep their promises even after death.”
“Species? Care to elaborate?”
He just looked at me and said simply one word, “No.” So I guess he’s not going to elaborate. We sat in a comfortable silence listening to the music and drinking. After a while I couldn’t take it anymore so I continued to drill him with questions which he either dodged or just refused to answer. He has to be the most stubborn man I’ve ever met. He’d make a great politician with the way he dodges questions with such ease.
Getting tired of getting no answers and sitting with a stranger that I happen to have a pick up order on. Maybe I should've called it in that I was with Kincaid and let his ass be arrested but as far as I’m concerned my give a damn is busted and I quit. If Jason and Jackson want him they can find him.
Yawning and getting up from the booth I said my goodbyes to Kincaid and headed back home. I still have to figure out what I’m going to do about everything. Right now it’s just too much for me to process.
I pull up to my house and step out of my car. As I was about to close the door I fell to the ground in agonizing pain. Everything hurts I can’t even tell where the pain is centered. It’s just everywhere. It feels like my muscles are being ripped away from my bones. It hurt so bad I couldn’t do anything but scream bloody murder. On the job I’ve been shot, I’ve been stabbed, and I’ve been beat to an inch of my life and nothing compares to the pain I’m in now.
Just when the pain was starting to ease off and I thought I was in the clear I heard a bone snap and my leg bent at an awkward angle. I just laid on the ground panting praying for death. Hoping darkness will finally come and stop the pain. Another bone snapped and my back bowed up off the ground. I let out a blood curdling scream.
I thought I heard someone talking to me and cradle me into their arms. But in my state it could just be wishful thinking. I laid there what seemed like hours screaming and crying as one by one my bones broke and my body ripped itself apart. I felt a rush of coolness throughout my entire body and l leaped forward and landed on four paws. Then, darkness came.
I woke up to my bones popping and rearranging themselves again. But this time it didn’t hurt. I’d feel cold and I’d turn into yet another animal. It went on like this for what seemed like forever. I didn’t think it was ever going to stop. Well, at least it doesn’t hurt anymore but it is taking a lot of energy out of me. I’m not sure how much longer I can hold on. With every shift I feel more and more of my life slipping out of me.
Finally it stops; I look down at what once were many different paws to see my human hands again. I let out a sigh of relief and leaned back into Kincaid. Wait, Kincaid why is he here?” I turned my head just enough to see his face. He has frown lines on his forehead and he’s dripping in sweat.
“How did you know where i lived?” I croaked out.
He looked down at me and I could see he was clearly exhausted. I don’t see why. He’s not the one that just had his body rip itself apart into a million different animals for hours on end.
“I told you earlier at the club that I look after you and I always have. How are you feeling?” he asked with concern on his voice.
“My throat is dry and burning, my whole body is numb, and I feel like I could sleep for a least a week.”
“Well, that’s all normal for a first shift or at least I’m told.”
“You're slipping Kincaid. You just let me know you weren’t a shifter or were,” I said smiling at him.
“Alright enough chit chat let’s get you inside to rest.”
“That’s the best thing you’ve said all night.”
Kincaid lifted me into his arms tight against his chest and carried me into my house. God he smells so good. I pressed my nose further into his neck to get a better smell. I can hear his blood pumping through his veins begging me for a taste. Just one little bite. I flicked my tongue out just enough to taste then I ran my tongue up his neck. Kincaid shuddered and squeezed me tighter to his chest. I continued to run my tongue back down his neck until I got to the spot I wanted, right where the shoulder meets the neck. I flicked my tongue out a few more times and nibbled on his nec
k. Kincaid stood stock still, the only movement he made was his shuddering.
I felt my teeth elongate in my mouth. I ran my tongue over my fangs testing them out. Taking a deep breathe I bent my head back into his neck and ran my fangs across his skin, licking, and nibbling. I pressed my fangs into his skin testing it out. Once I got the right spot I pressed down and broke the skin. Kincaid moaned and pressed my head into his neck further. I bit down further until I felt blood rush into my mouth. You would think blood taste coppery but it doesn’t. It tastes like the sweetest of sweet nectars. I spun around in Kincaid’s arms, wrapped my hands in his hair and wrapped my legs around his waist, and sucked greedily at his neck.
Kincaid pushed me up against the wall with his hand on the back of my head pushing me into his neck. His other hand cupped my bare ass holding me in place. I felt heat run through my body straight between my legs. I pushed myself closer to Kincaid and ground my pussy against his hard cock. He pushed back into me and we both let out a loud moan. He held me tighter against him rocking back and forth rubbing on me. Not in my entire life have I ever felt anything like this before. This wasn’t pleasure, this was pure ecstasy. The more I sucked the more we rubbed against each other both of us getting more frantic with our movements. We pushed and pulled moving to the rhythm of my sucking.
I felt a relentless pressure building up in my body, refusing to back down, threatening to spill over and take out everyone and anything in its path. I rubbed harder and faster trying to find release. Kincaid seemed to know what I needed because he cupped my pussy from behind and rubbed my hard swollen bud as fast as he could. “God Jessi you feel so fucking good,” he breathed in my ear. I rocked my hips against his hand needing more. Both of us finding the perfect rhythm together. The pressure just kept building I thought I was going to bust wide open if something didn’t happen soon.
Kincaid lifted me further up his body not even breaking a beat with his hand on my clit. He bent down with me attached to his neck and pulled my nipple into his mouth through my shirt. If felt his teeth graze my nipple and I let out a half growl half moan of pleasure. Just when I thought I couldn’t take anymore he bit down on my nipple. I ripped my mouth away from his neck and screamed out my pleasure.
Kincaid ripped my shirt and bra up out of the way to get better access to my breast. He stopped long enough to look down at my breast, “perfect, so perfect,” he whispers. He bent back down to continue his onslaught on my breast. He was biting, sucking, and licking like his life depended on it. I reached down and grabbed his jaw with my hand and pulled his mouth to mine. He didn’t just kiss me. No Jason kisses. What Kincaid was doing was devouring me. He didn’t ask permission for entrance he just took it. Our tongues twisted and battled for dominance, he won of course, and I gladly let him. He had one hand twisted in my hair and the other massaging my breast.
I didn't realize we even moved until I felt my back press down onto something soft. I pulled my mouth away from Kincaid to see what I was pressed against when I realized it was my bed. Kincaid didn’t stop kissing me. He kissed me along my jaw and down my neck. All I could do was writhe underneath him and ride out the wave after wave of pleasure that was assaulting my body.
Underneath him? Underneath Kincaid? Wait something doesn’t seem right about that. Blood. I drank blood. Oh my god! I put my hands on Kincaid’s chest and with all the strength I could muster I shoved as hard as I could. Kincaid went flying backwards straight through the wall into the next room. I jumped up, didn’t even see if he was okay and ran like hell. When I got just inside the tree line I shifted into my wolf. I know I could have shifted into anything but that was the first thing I thought of. What in the hell was I thinking? Kincaid? Really? And I was drinking his blood. Oh God what kind of monster am I turning into? I got to get out of here. I can’t take this shit. So I ran straight out the front door and didn’t turn back. At this point I’m not even sure if I will or if I even want to. Besides I have a backup plan and that backup plan is north. You see, the people in my life are not the only ones with secrets.
