“This is my house too!” I told him.

“Well, then I’ll leave!” he said to me.

“No the fuck you are not!” I told him. He grilled me.

“Nigga, if you want to shoot me, go ahead! Only thing I’m scared of at this point is losing you!” I told him then he raised his eyebrow. I grabbed my throw blanket that I use when I’m lounging around from off of the hassock.

I covered my body then sat back on the couch eyeing him as he was doing me. “I’m not fucking leaving this house! My name is on it, too! I don’t give a fuck that you paid for it!” I told him as tears ran down my face.

He laughed at me. “Okay, cool!” he said walking up the steps.

“You are not leaving, either!” I shouted after him. He went into one of the bedrooms upstairs then slammed the door. I heard a buzzing noise and looked on the floor. Kenjay must not have realized his phone had dropped. I reached down to pick it up and I knew the number all too well. Takera was calling. She had the same number from when I first started dealing with Kenjay. I ignored her call.

I went through his messages and there were a few bitches begging for his dick but he didn’t respond. Suddenly, a message from Takera message came in.

Thanks for the money! I really needed it and please don’t let anyone know I told you about Shaw and Latavia. My brother would give me hell!

The next day, I got dressed in some leggings, a sweatshirt and a pair of Tims. Kenjay was in one of the guestrooms still asleep. He didn’t wake up until noon. It was eight in the morning. I took an Advil because of the headache I had. I shouldn’t have drank that much.

I went by Lo-Lo’s apartment complex. She got into my car eating a breakfast sandwich with hot sauce dripping from it.

  “Seriously?” I asked.

“Bitch, don’t start any shit with me! Bad enough I had to make sure you got home safe because you want to drink like some white college girl! Then you call me, waking me up to go and see about some bitch that your man might be fucking! Don’t play with me, Latavia!” she said taking a bite out of her scrapple, egg, and cheese sandwich.

I shook my head. “You want a piece?” she asked, putting the sandwich in my face.

“NO! I don’t like wheat bread!” I told her.

“It’s healthy for you!” she said, chewing the last bite of it.

“The scrapple and all that cheese, seriously? Girl, you could’ve put that on some white buttered toast!” I told her.

“You need to watch what you eat!” she told me and I just looked at her. I couldn’t deal with Lo-Lo right now.

  I pulled into Takera’s ratchet-ass neighborhood.

“You know, for a minute I thought the old Latavia was gone! Now, that Park Heights Baltimore chick about to come out of you!” Lo-Lo said then I laughed.

“I’m trying to build something for myself! I have been doing well but this bitch is about to get it! I keep telling this bitch to leave my man alone!” I said.

“That Annapolis nigga really have your head gone! But it’s okay, boo! I knew that pretty fucker had some good dick! There is no way in hell I’m fucking my career up over some ghetto bitch!” Lo-Lo said to me.

  “LO-LO!” I said to her.

“What? I’m being honest! Bitches like Takera would press charges on you to fuck your life up! She knows you making a name with your clientele! But you are my cousin and I love you, so if you want to fuck the bitch up, go ahead!” she said.

“How do you know where she lives?” she asked me.

“Honey, my man is Kenjay! I know where all the bitches he was fucking with live! Trust and believe I take different routes to make sure he isn’t lying about where he’s at! I checks all of that shit! I love that man to death, Lo-Lo!” I said as my eyes watered up.

“Did you take your pills today?” she asked me.

“Not yet!” I said getting out of the car. I banged on the door to Takera’s apartment. Lo-Lo was standing there with her arms crossed. Takera snatched the door open and weed smoke blew into my face. This bitch was getting high early in the morning.

“What are you doing here, miss prissy?” she asked me.

“I came to collect the money my man gave you! Bitch, I know all about it! I also know you ran your mouth on some shit that you know nothing about!” I told her.

She started laughing at me. “Honey, your bougie ass ain’t about that life! Then you have the nerve to bring your bodyguard up here with you! I can get anything I want from Kenjay! I been fucking him since we were fourteen! Britain knows, ask her! So, I’m entitled to whatever it is he has!” she said to me.

“Are you trying to tell me that you are still fucking my man?” I asked her.

“He was over here the other night!” she said smiling.

“Beat her ass, La-La!” Lo-Lo said to me, calling me by my neighborhood nickname. We got her nickname from her real name, Logan.

I balled my fist up slamming it into Takera’s face and she fell into her house. She clawed at my face as we tussled on her living room floor. I elbowed her in the stomach then slammed my fist into her mouth. She punched me in the eye and it stunned me. The only reason I bought Lo-Lo with me was to avoid getting jumped by some hood bitches.

I stood up and she kicked me in my leg. “I know you better beat her ass!” Lo-Lo said smoking a Black and Mild. I kneed Takera in her face then dragged her out of her apartment and down the building stairs by her shirt.

“Give me back what my man gave you, bitch!” I said punching her in the face.

She started kicking me really hard and somehow managed to get up. We both fell down another flight of steps swinging on each other. Takera was not an easy match but I was determined to beat her ass. I was frustrated and at a breaking point. I lost my baby, Tammy, and my relationship had been rocky. Janae was nowhere to be found, so I could strangle Takera. Dayquan wanted my money and now this bitch came along telling Kenjay some shit that was not her business! I was fed up!

A few guys came out of nowhere trying to break it up. I had a tight grip on Takera’s neck, digging my nails into her throat while my other fist slammed into her face. Blood ran down her nose.

“Hey, shorty! Y’all chill the fuck out! Y’all making the block hot and niggas out here trapping! Y’all about to fuck our money up! Someone in this building is going to call the police!” one guy said while pulling us apart.

“Bitch, this isn’t over! You hear me! This shit isn’t over! You are fucking with the wrong bitch! Keep testing me!” I said screaming, as they dragged me from her building. Lo-Lo came down the steps. She got into the driver’s side. I limped to the passenger side. I started to feel the pain from rolling down the steps.

“Where you been at?” I asked her, checking my face in the mirror. My lip was busted and my eye was starting to swell up.

“I was in her apartment going through her shit then I came across her purse!” she said tossing the money into my lap.

“This is exactly how Kenjay rolls his money up! This nigga gave this bitch a thousand dollars!” I said.

“That bitch has bed bugs! I was going through her closets and all of that! I saw two of them fuckers on the wall!” Lo-Lo said.

“That nasty bitch! I cannot believe she lives in this dump! The whole building might have it!” My business phone rang inside of my cup holder.

“Hello, you have reached Latavia,” I said putting on my professional voice.

The caller was the mayor’s wife. She needed assistance for a ball that they were attending that was being held by the president. I reached in the back seat grabbing my planner, filling her in for an appointment. Once I hung up, Lo-Lo smiled at me.

“One thing I can say about y’all crazy bitches, y’all do know how to act. You went from a hoodrat to a Wall Street type of bitch in 0.5 seconds!” she said laughing, snapping her fingers.

“You have to fake it to make it! I don’t play about my Kenjay! That nigga is mine whether he likes it or not! I put in a lot to make him se
e that there is nothing wrong with letting someone into your heart!” I said.

“See, that’s where you fucked up at! You can’t try to change a nigga when your kitchen isn’t clean! You opened a whole new world for him then you betrayed him. Niggas like him don’t love easily. He is a straight up street nigga! So, for you to get him to become the man he is, you probably took a lot! You should’ve told him you was married as soon as Shaw called you!” she said to me.

“I was afraid! I thought maybe Dayquan would just move! After he gave me that hickey, I couldn’t tell Kenjay my husband did it! He would’ve assumed that I fucked him because he is my husband. I know how Kenjay thinks!” I said wiping my eyes.

“I don’t know what to say! I really don’t, because when it’s all said and done, you are still fucking married! Although, you thought he was getting life, you should’ve still said something!” she said.

I pulled up in front of Lo-Lo’s building and Sameer got out of his Cadillac Escalade.

“Where the fuck you been at?” he asked Lo-Lo. To my understanding they were just friends with benefits. Sameer had a woman that he cheated on faithfully, but he was always over Lo-Lo’s house.

“I know you better leave me the fuck alone, Sameer! Don’t you be questioning me! You are not my damn man! Now, where is my money?” she asked holding her hand out. He went into his pocket then slapped a thick wad into her hand. She flicked through it then smiled. I smiled too because they were exactly like Kenjay and I when we first started messing around.

“Now, where you been at? I been out here for an hour! Shorty, don’t fuck with me!” he said with anger-filled eyes.

  “Hey, Sameer!” I said.

“Damn, girl! Kenjay whipped your ass, didn’t he? About damn time he got you good with your sneaky ass! He should’ve knocked your damn teeth out! Don’t ‘hey Sameer’ me, neither! I don’t like your ass, shorty!” he said then I laughed. Sameer was a force to be reckoned with.

“Don’t talk to her like that, nigga! I will bust you in your shit!” Lo-Lo said to him.

“Fuck all that! I’m hungry! I drove all the way down here for you to cook my breakfast! My stomach is touching my back! My retarded-ass baby mama can’t cook for shit! Feed your man!” he said almost pleading. Sameer reminded me too much of Kenjay. He would come looking for me to cook him something to eat. He told me my country cooking was addictive.

I burst out into tears. I started sobbing really hard and they looked at me. Standing there, watching those two interact with each other, reminded me too much of Kenjay and I in our beginning stages. Lo-Lo rubbed my back while Sameer looked at me with his eyebrow raised. He pulled out his phone then a few minutes later he dialed out.

“Is this a mental hospital? Yeah, you have a patient that I think might have escaped!” he said. “What is she wearing…Oh, yeah she has one of those white hospital gowns with the Compton slippers on her feet!” he told them.

He looked at the street sign. “Yeah, I’m off of West Street, 800 block!” he said.

Lo-Lo snatched his phone then got on it. She looked at Sameer then grilled him after hanging up.

“Did you really call the hospital? I cannot believe you did that!” she said to him.

“Fuck all that! When a nigga is hungry he can’t think straight! I need some fried croaker, grits, green pepper and cheese eggs, sausage links, and some blueberry muffins! A nigga out here about to disappear! I lost fifteen pounds driving here! You are out here with your crazy-ass cousin! You need to be in the kitchen!” he said to her.

A truck pulled up then came to a halt. It wasn’t nobody but Kenjay. It was a little too early for him to be out.

He got out slamming the door. “Fuck your simple ass out here fighting for? You done lost your mind? Take your retarded ass home! I got traps over there and you made that shit hot! Motherfuckers know not to start shit over in my hoods!” he yelled at me.

“Lo-Lo, I should fuck your ass up, too!” he said to her.

“Nigga, I wish you would! What are you mad for? That bitch got her ass whipped! Cheating-ass nigga!” Lo-Lo said to Kenjay.

“Mind your damn business! Worry about Sameer’s baby mamas because they are pulling up right now!” Kenjay said then I looked behind me. An Expedition sped past us then halted to a stop. Both of his baby mamas got out. I could not believe these broads fought bitches together like he wasn’t going back and forth between them. He must have two penises.

Kenjay was right, they were the size of me and Lo-Lo. The thicker one stood with her arms crossed. Both of them were drop dead gorgeous and very curvy. The light-skinned one had a Brazilian weave in her head that came down to her ass. The other one was brown-skinned with her hair in some type of bun with a swoop bang.

“Which one of y’all hoes is Lo-Lo?” the thicker one asked. I think the slimmer one just followed because she hadn’t said anything yet.

“Bitch, I’m Lo-Lo? What you need? But make it quick! After about ten seconds, imma be fixin’ to smack me a bitch!” she said. Lo-Lo been saying that since I could remember.

“Narshae and Daytona, take y’all simple asses home! Fuck wrong with y’all?” Sameer asked. Narshae, the thicker one, smacked the hell out of Sameer.

“Nigga, you got me fucked up!” she said. Then Daytona jumped on him. He pushed her on the ground.

“What are y’all bitches fixin’ to jump me for?” he asked smiling. This was the worst nigga I ever met. Kenjay stood there laughing.

“Why are y’all hoes in front of my damn crib and why are y’all looking for me?” Lo-Lo asked.

“Are you fucking our baby’s father?” Narshae asked.

“Sameer, you answer that! I’m about to go and fix your breakfast! You have ten seconds to get these simple ass hoes away from my house. I have never seen two dumb bitches that fight together over a man that is fucking both of them! Y’all are not jumping me into y’all gang of dumb bitches!” Lo-Lo said laughing.

“So, this where you been at, Sameer? You leave our bed to come all the way down here?” Narshae asked him.

“Go the fuck home! And Daytona, you got to be simple! Why in the hell you keep following behind Narshae like she didn’t whip your ass when she caught me over your house? This is some simple-ass shit!” Sameer fussed.

“Are you still fucking my sister, Somalia?” Narshae asked Sameer.

“Wasn’t I fucking with her first? Yo, don’t fuck with me! I drove an hour away for some good cooking and that’s what I’m going to get!” he said to her.

“Who the fuck are you?” Narshae asked me.

“Don’t fucking worry about it! Who the fuck are you to be questioning me, bitch?” I asked her with the same attitude.

“OHHHHH NOOOOO SHE DIDN’T!” Narshae said getting loud.

Kenjay pulled me back. “Sameer, handle that!” Kenjay told him. I snatched away from Kenjay then walked to my car. I got inside then pulled off. When I pulled up in front of our house, he pulled up behind me.

“So, you giving bitches money now? What the fuck are you doing giving that nasty bitch money for?” I asked, yelling at him.

“It’s my money and I can do what I want!” he said walking into the house.

  “You fucked her?” I asked.

“Yeah, I did! For ten seconds, though! I was interrupted!” he said like he didn’t care that he just hurt me.

“Why are you doing this to me?” I asked.

“Shorty, don’t play innocent with me! Fuck your feelings! Talk to me when you and that nigga get a divorce!” he said.

“You haven’t even been taking your pills! Yo, you are just really turning me off!” he walked out of the kitchen. I went into the hall closet to grab my metal bat. I walked outside then swung on his truck, smashing the windows out. I made my way to his Panamera, smashing the windows out and the lights. I swung on his Dodge Challenger putting dents in it.

“Bitch, you gone crazy?” he asked me. I got on top of his Panamera, bringing the bat down, putting a den
t in his hood.

He grabbed me pulling me off.

“Yo, calm your ass down!” he shook me as I tried fighting him. He hugged me tight to his chest. “You need to get some help! You still trying to deal with losing our son!” he said to me as I sobbed.

“I don’t want to live anymore. I want to die!” I said. He hugged me tighter as my mood changed from being angry to feeling alone and hopeless.

  Kenjay

I creeped through the alley that lead up to the corner where Dizzy hung out at. I was knocking these niggas off one by one. Shaw had been laying low because he knew that I knew what he was trying to do. Dizzy served a fiend then he walked off. I followed behind him. He cut a corner and now it was just me and him. I rushed him.

“You like robbing niggas, huh?” I asked him, punching him in the face.
