“Yeah, I do, too! A lot! Sometimes the shit gets unbearable and now I’m in a situation where she has all of the answers and can’t give them to me. I don’t know that Leodonis nigga!” he said.

An hour later, we were in D.C. pulling up in front of the twins’ mother’s house.

“Get your ass out, girl!” he said to me.

“NO! Why are you doing this to me?” I asked.

“Come on, now!” he said. I got out then walked to the pretty brownstone.

“I think we should get a loft up here somewhere! That condo we are staying in is getting cramped!” I told him, still pissed off that our new house was ruined.

“Stop shopping so much, then! Your ass too damn spoiled!” he said like he wasn’t the reason that I was. I stuck my bottom lip out then he sucked on it.

“Kenjay! What is wrong with you? You been very touchy feely!” I said to him.

“A nigga is stressed the hell out and I need some pussy to ease my mind!” he said.

“I’m stressed out, too, trust me! If it wasn’t for you, I would be somewhere in a ditch!” I told him. If it wasn’t for him I would have lost my mind.

He rang the doorbell. Moments later, the twins’ mother swung the door open. She grilled us with her slanted eyes. She and Tammy looked more Vietnamese then the rest of their siblings.

“Damn, nigga! You couldn’t call before you came? I was just about to get my groove on!” Sheri said to Kenjay and I laughed. She hugged me. “How is my baby?” she asked, kissing my check.

“I’m fine and you?” I asked as she let us in.

“Well, I was doing great thinking I was about to get me some! Thanks to y’all, I have to call my friend up and tell him to come by later! What the hell you been eating, Kenjay?” Sheri asked him.

“Real damn food and not all that soup and rice shit y’all always making!” he said to her.

“Don’t get brand new because you getting all toned and mannish! You still look like a male model, nigga!” she said smiling, showing her gold tooth.

“Cut that crap out! I keep telling y’all stop telling me that shit! Let a nigga fuck with me and watch what happens!” he said sitting down on the couch. He put his foot on the coffee table than started changing the TV.

“This rude motherfucker doesn’t have the good sense that God gave him! I raised my sons with manners! This fucker doesn’t have any!” she fussed. I just looked at her because her sons didn’t have manners at all. Maybe Jameer but that Sameer didn’t! He would walk right into your house, go into your fridge for leftovers then warm them up and wouldn’t say one word to you. Then he would look at you like you were crazy.

  “KENJAY!” I said to him.

“What, shorty? Damn! Don’t you start that shit, Latavia!” he said getting comfortable.

“If you stab him, I will help you get rid of the body!” Sheri whispered to me. Kenjay heard her.

“Sheri, don’t fuck with me! Now, who is my real daddy?” he asked her.

  “Javier!” she said.

“No, that nigga isn’t! A nigga name Leodonis says that he is my father!” he said looking at her. I could tell by her body language that she knew something. Out of all the sisters, Sheri and Tammy were the closest.

“Stay away from that man, Kenjay! He is very dangerous!” she said getting scared.

“Well, then, that’s all the reason to tell me what the hell is going on!” he said to her.

“Go make me a sandwich, Latavia!” Kenjay said to me.

“When do you stop eating?” I asked him.

“You don’t complain when I eat you!” he said licking his sexy lips.

“That’s just so damn rude!” Sheri told him.

“That’s my shorty! I can do what I want and say what I want! That thing juicy!” he told his aunt. I didn’t know what type of family this was because my aunt would have slap me for saying something nasty like that to her.

“You make me sick, Kenjay! Why can’t you be well-mannered like my Sameer?” she asked him.

“Ummmmm! Umph!” I said then she looked at me.

“What the hell is wrong with you? You better drink some damn water or something! Bring me a sandwich, too! And wash your hands before you touch my shit! Y’all two are some nasty-ass people!” Sheri said to me.

“What are you talking about Aunt Sheri?” Kenjay asked her.

“On Thanksgiving you fucked that girl in my basement bathroom! Everyone heard y’all! You couldn’t wait until y’all got home?” she asked. I just wanted to hide.

Kenjay smirked. “I was tearing that shit up, wasn’t I?” he had the nerve to ask her. I hit him with my purse. “Don’t do that shit no more!” he scolded me.

“Watch your damn mouth! What the hell is wrong with you?” I asked him.

“Just go ahead and make the sandwiches, you are asking him a question that he doesn’t have good sense to answer!” Sheri said.

As I’m in the kitchen making the sandwiches, I heard Sameer’s voice. I was doomed! This was just too much. He came into the kitchen then smirked at me. “Where mine at?” he asked.

“Wherever your sense is at! Oops, you have none of that!” I said bumping into him with two plates in my hand.

“With your crazy ass!” he said going into his mama’s fridge.

“SAMEER! Get the hell out of my fridge! I keep telling you to wash your damn hands! You screw too many girls out here! I don’t trust those nasty-ass fingers!” Sheri yelled at him.

“Everyone I sleep with pussy is clean, Ma!” he shouted from the kitchen.

  “And he’s respectful?” I asked.

“More than your man!” Sheri replied. I didn’t say anything.

“So, what’s going on, Sheri? How long was my mama messing with that man?” Kenjay asked her.

“She cheated on Javier a few times with his half-brother. Your mother worked for Leodonis and that’s how she met Javier,” she said.

“Working for him how?” Kenjay asked.

“She was transporting his drugs! You know a drug smuggler. But anyways, she slept with Leodonis a few times and that’s why Javier doesn’t like him. Javier killed a man at a bar one night because he told Javier that you was not his son! Your mama always knew that he wasn’t, but she couldn’t hurt him. She really loved Javier. She told me that she couldn’t bring herself to tell a man that’s locked up that his son isn’t his son. He was already doing time, so she didn’t want to crush any more of his pride,” she said.

“She didn’t know that he knew?” I asked.

“Nope, he never told her why he killed the guy. I guess he couldn’t come to terms with the fact that she betrayed him. I only know because I was at the bar with the twins’ father when it happened. I didn’t want to tell your mother that he knew, but deep down I honestly believed that she did. When you were thirteen, Javier told your grandmother to stop bringing you to see him. He could no longer see your face because you look so much like his brother. That’s when Javier finally spoke up and told your mother that he knew he wasn’t your father. Your mother never wanted Leodonis to know about you because he is very dangerous and she didn’t want your life to be like his!” she told Kenjay.

“So, when it all boils down to it, everyone kept it a secret? Now, my fake pops is trying to kill me?” he asked.

“I don’t know about all of that! I just know that Leodonis went back to Cuba and stayed for years. He just recently married a woman who is from the U.S. He moved back here, and I don’t know how he found out you was his son because I know Javier didn’t tell him,” she said.

“So, Javier lied about being Panamanian?” I asked.

“To my understanding, Javier is a side-chicks child! Leodonis’s daddy cheated with Javier’s mother. I think she didn’t want him to know his real identity because she was ashamed. Back in those days Panamanian and Cuban cartels had beef with each other. So, Javier’s mother didn’t want her family to know she betrayed them. But when Javier found out that the man he wa
s working for was his brother, shit hit the fan. Leodonis’s daddy was killed and the whole Cuban cartel was left to Leodonis. He left Javier nothing, so Javier was already salty when your mama slept with Leodonis,” she said eating her sandwich. This was some crazy-ass mess!

“I still don’t understand why the nigga is trying to kill me!” he said.

“Years ago, it was Cuban Cartel tradition that if the head of the Cartel died, the oldest son would inherit it. If something happens to the oldest son then the next son inherits it. Then it passes down to a grandson. The outside son will only inherit it if the last bloodline is killed. I don’t know how true that is but if Javier kills Leodonis, their other brother, and you, then he gets it. I think Leodonis’s brother has two daughters, so it wouldn’t go to them. Women are not allowed to be head of a cartel,” Sheri said.

“This isn’t shit but a big-ass family feud going on!” I told her.

“This is some bullshit!” Kenjay said, getting up.

“You just have to kill Javier first!” she said. Is his aunt really telling him to kill someone?

“I cannot find the nigga!” he told her.

“He is around here somewhere!” Sheri said.

Afterwards, we headed home and I was exhausted and scared for my life.

“When is this going to end? Our new home is ruined! Your fake daddy is trying to kill you! My brother tried to kill us along with my supposed-to-be husband and cousin. All of this for a spot on the throne! This shit is a headache!” I said.

“Then Janae is still running around after what she did to us!” I vented.

“Janae is getting her Karma, trust me!” Kenjay said.

He grabbed my hand. “I will die before I let some shit happen to you!” he said to me.

Shine sat at the kitchen table, waiting for his dinner. My eye was swollen shut and I couldn’t see out of it. One of my teeth was knocked out and my wrist was broken. He had been whipping my ass for the last couple of days and had been shooting drugs into my veins. But no matter what he did, I still loved him. I nodded off from being high as I grabbed the meatloaf out of the oven. I burned my hand because I forgot to put on an oven mitt.

“OUCH!” I screamed, placing the hot pan onto the counter. Shine would’ve whipped my ass if I had dropped it.

“Shut the fuck up! I told your crazy ass stop making all of that noise!” he yelled, making me jump.

“Kill him! He doesn’t love you!” a voice laughed inside of my head.

  “SHUT UP!” I cried.

  WHAP!

He slaps me. My head hit the stove as I fell onto the kitchen floor. He dragged me from the kitchen into the bathroom, turning on the hot water. He pushed me inside of the shower as the water burned my skin. I screamed. “Didn’t I tell you not to back talk me?” he asked.

“I’m sorry, baby, please let me out! I will never do it again!” I pleaded. He turned the water off.

As he pulled me out, I tripped over the tub falling face first. I tasted blood in my mouth then he smiled.

“Crawl your crazy ass back into that kitchen to finish fixing my dinner! I told you my company is coming over and I want the food to be nice and hot!” he said to me.

I tried standing up. “Bitch, I said crawl! Fuck is wrong with you?” he asked me.

After I crawled into the kitchen, I painfully got myself together as water dripped from my clothes. I fixed two plates, one for him and one for the cousin that he wanted me to meet. After I set the table, the doorbell rings.

He got up to get the door. I tried to fix my wig. Shine dumped a whole bottle of Nair on my head while I was sleep. He told me I was snoring too hard and I fucked up the dream he was having. When I woke up, most of my hair was on the pillow. I had patches here in there. My hair was already short, so it didn’t take long for the Nair to make it come out.

I turned around then came face-to-face with Kenjay. I looked between him and Shine and noticed the resemblance.

“This is your cousin?” I asked, hurt.

He smiles. “Yup, you know him?” he asked laughing.

“Look at you, shorty! You look worse than how I found my mama with half of her pretty face blown off! Shorty, you look like the Crypt Keeper from ‘Tales of the Crypt.’ You sure this bitch isn’t dead already?” Kenjay asked Shine.

“You set me up!” I said, grabbing a knife, charging towards Shine. Kenjay pulled out his silencer, shooting me in the shoulder.

“I keep telling you that my face doesn’t have to be seen for motherfuckers to feel me! Shine was outside of your daddy’s house the whole time you were there! When you left out, Shine followed you to the bus station. I was the one who gave him your father’s address. Your pops was working on a case for me. Small world, isn’t it?” he asked, smoking a blunt. He sat down, putting his boot on the kitchen table.

“You are the devil!” I screamed.

He laughed at me. “Thanks for the compliment! But you already knew I was coming for you! You killed my mama and my shorty lost our son!” he said with venom dripping from his voice.

“You set me up!” I yelled at him.

“Charge it to the game! You had no business trying to take something that didn’t belong to you! I’m a stingy nigga! I don’t take too kindly to people who try to take from me!” he said to me then laughed.

“Men are your downfall. You showed me that with Yager and Rattle! Your biggest downfall is love! You like when a nigga dominates you! You are looking for daddy’s love in all the wrong places!” Kenjay said.

“Shut up!” I screamed, banging my head on the wall.

“Nigga, you definitely owe me for this shit! I had to live with this crazy bitch for a few months! That shit was torture, my nigga! Please tell me you are about to kill this bitch! You had me in here beating her ass like I did that shit on the regular! I have never hit a woman in my life but the way this bitch was acting had me doing shit you didn’t have to tell me to do! This bitch was talking to people, singing to them and making baby noises while sucking her thumb! That’s why I had to knock her damn tooth out! I had to get her high to mellow her crazy ass out but that shit wasn’t even working! Her pills didn’t even work!” Shine fussed.

“I see you put a ring on her finger!” Kenjay laughed.

“Shut the fuck up, nigga! Fuck is wrong with you? You think this shit is funny? You didn’t tell me the bitch was this crazy! Yo, I’m not fucking with you anymore! Lose my number, nigga! You are foul for that shit!” Shine yelled at him.

“Nigga, calm down!” Kenjay told him.

“Calm down? Nigga, fuck you! Don’t call me anymore! Don’t say shit to me! Crazy-ass motherfucker! You think this shit is funny! You just wait and see how serious I am,” Shine said sitting on the couch as he flicked through channels. Kenjay was laughing at him.

“My girl cooked your favorite: baked chicken breast with crabmeat. Oh, and she made pineapple and coconut upside down cake!” Kenjay said to Shine.

“See, you my nigga! You know that?” Shine asked smiling, rubbing his hands together.

“I fucking loved you!” I cried to Shine. Kenjay needed to kill me and get it over with. The way Shine just hurt me I would be better off dead. Then it clicked in my head that this is what Kenjay wanted. He wanted to hurt me this way because death would be too easy.

“Shorty, your time is up! We are done playing around with you! It’s checkout time! The entertainment is over! You should’ve listen to that bitch in your head that you fuss with! She keep telling you that you should take your pills! Your mind is gone! You are so far gone that you will never be normal!” Shine said to me. I started laughing, as Tammy appeared smiling standing next to Kenjay.

“Laugh now, bitch, but I got you first! You dead, bitch!” I spat. Then Veronica, my daddy and brother stood next to her laughing at me.

“She is seeing people again!” Shine said eating chips.

“Nigga, shut up!” Kenjay told him.

  “Kill her ass, so
I can get my grub on! I also need to go home and get some pussy! I had to fuck a few of my broads over here! One of them wasn’t feeling that shit. I miss my life, nigga, so hurry up or I will!” Shine said to Kenjay.

Kenjay put his gun to my head. “Tell Yager I said what’s up! And ask Rattle how the worms are treating him!” he said pulling the trigger.

  Everything went black…

  Kenjay

I had taken care of that crazy bitch and now all I needed was to get at the nigga, Javier. I was still planning on proposing to Latavia but there was just too much shit going on. I knew she wanted to ask me about it but I was going to surprise her and do it the right way.

I wish my nigga Beans was here because he had his way of finding stuff out for me. If Beans was alive, I would’ve been found out about Javier! I was hurting right now because, in the past few months, I lost my son, my mother and a childhood friend, all because a nigga chose to live savage.
