“Are you excited to go to the beach, Delilah?” A playful voice asked from behind before its owner dropped into the seat beside me, snapping on a seatbelt. Frederick de Wit’s boyish charm had not faded at all in the past month, his hair still stylishly messy, his eyes still sparkling with mischief.
“Are you excited for your birthday?” I shot back, ignoring his question altogether.
