Whiskey Nights

“Smells good,” I say when he opens the door.
“Thanks.” He kisses me softly and looks into my eyes. “Hi.”
“Hey.” I smile at him. My eyes betray my feelings and I know I am staring at him with so much more than just pride. I am so falling in love with this man.
I sit on a wooden stool at his kitchen counter and watch him serve me a drink. “Private Bartending. I can get used to this.”
“Good. Cheers,” he says handing me my glass of whiskey, and clinks his glass to mine.
“Cheers. Here’s to your success.” We take a sip of our drinks and I moan softly at how good it is. He makes the best Kentucky Mules. I laugh at his lifted brow and shrug.
“It tastes good.”
“As long as you moan for me later I don’t mind, but if you want to have dinner first, you may want to limit them.” He winks and I’m sure my panties just melted. Just his words can do me in.
Whatever he’s making is in the oven, and I notice two candles burning softly at the end of the counter and music playing.
“Are you being romantic?” I tease.
“I’m trying to. Don’t ruin it,” he says jokingly.
“I’d never,” I place my hand on my chest, feigning offense.
Jake chuckles and comes around to grab my hand when Kenny Chesney comes on the radio. He pulls me off the stool and wraps his arms around me as we sway to the music. The soft beat of the music fills his apartment and the words tug at my heart. I sigh into him and hold him tightly. His hand squeezes mine and I look up into his eyes. I see something there. Something that makes me fall deeper.
“You had me from hello. Actually I think before you even spoke to me I was captivated,” Jake whispers in my ear and I blink back tears. I kiss him with all the passion I can muster.
“Jake,” I pause unsure of what to say or how to say it. If he doesn’t feel the same, I can just leave before I’m in so deep that I can’t climb out of the hole, although I think I’m already there.
“Yeah?” He looks back at me while we continue to dance.
“I . . .” Don’t chicken out, Beth. I think back to my conversation with Savannah and I know what I feel. If I read Jake correctly, he may be somewhere near the same page. At least, I hope so. With one more breath, I look into his eyes and say it. “I love you,” I whisper softly. He stares at me without saying anything.
“You don’t need to—” His lips shut me up and he carries me away from the music to his room. He gently drops me on his mattress and looks down at me. Not a single word has he spoken yet, and I’m between having a nervous breakdown and laughing hysterically.
No time to think now. His lips crush onto mine, and his body weight comforts me. He rains kisses all over my face—my eyes, my cheeks, my nose and chin. Jake’s hand reaches inside my jeans and finds what it’s looking for. His fingers brush against my body and I moan. He undoes my jeans and pulls them down, moving to my shirt and removing it along with my bra. He teases my breasts before moving his body back up to face me. His hands cup my face and he kisses me softly.
“You are mine. This is so much better than any promotion or job. Hearing you say those words. God, Beth, you have no idea how I feel. I’ve been falling for you for so long now. Your laugh, your smile, your smart mouth, I love all of it. But what I love most about you is that you’re you. You exposed yourself to me completely and invited me in without any veils covering part of you up. You’ve got me babe, all of me.”
I kiss him hard and fast. Geez, he knows how to work me up. My tongue slips into his mouth and dances with his. Jake quickly removes his clothes and teases me with his cock while our lips continue this game of seduction. I reach for his erection and wrap my hand around it, spreading the moisture at his tip over the head of his dick and stroke his length. I giggle into his mouth when I feel him twitch in my hand.
“You want to make me come already?” I shake my head and smile wickedly. “No way am I gonna let that happen.” He reads my mind.
Jake kisses down my neck to my breasts, tantalizing each nipple with his tongue and teeth. My hand moves faster around him, building him up and my core begs for attention.
Jake moves his mouth back to my lips and says, “Baby, slow down or we won’t make it very far.”
I laugh and look at him. “How far are you thinking of going?” I love to challenge him.
“All the damn way!” His hand moves downward and begins to rub against my clit before thrusting his finger into me.
“Jake,” I groan. I hear him chuckle and open my eyes to stare at him. “Are you going to go all the way?”
“Babe, you know I will.” He kisses me and moves his hand. When I feel him reach for a condom, excitement fills me. I need to feel him moving inside me.
His thrust makes me call out before settling into a rhythm with him. We move together perfectly. I wrap my legs around his waist and pull him down to me. I hear him groan and I smile. It doesn’t take long for my orgasm to build, my body is hot and my breathing heavy. Jake picks up speed, hitting that spot inside my core that makes me fall. I climax clenching around him and feel Jake pulsing his release into me. He grunts with a final thrust and loses himself in me.
His body flops onto mine and I kiss his cheek. He catches his breath and says, “I may have burned dinner.” We both laugh and he shifts off me.
“This was so worth it though.”
“You can say that again.” He looks deep into my eyes. “I do love you, Beth.” I smile and kiss him. Who would have thought I would end up with this bartender?
“Come on. Let’s see if dinner is salvageable.” I put on his t-shirt while he pulls up his jeans, leaving the button undone.
Jake pulls out the lasagna he was baking, and we check out what’s under the aluminum foil covering it. “Perfect,” he says smiling.
“Smells good.”
“Thanks. The bread, however, is definitely not good.”
I peek into the oven and laugh. The garlic bread is burnt to a crisp. “I have enough carbs in the lasagna.”
“You’re going to need the energy for dessert.”
A moan escapes me and he laughs. Damn him. “I’m going to die from being oversexed. Actually, that wouldn’t be a bad way to go.”
Laughter rips through Jake. “No it wouldn’t, but I’ll give you some time to reenergize before I make love to you again.” I inwardly swoon. I really swoon like a teenager. Hearing him call it making love woke up the butterflies in my stomach and made them fly.
Dinner is perfect. We talk and eat the delicious vegetable lasagna Jake made. I need to make sure I remember how well he makes this so I can ask him to make it again. It’s delicious. He balanced the flavors perfectly.
“Ready for dessert?” I squirm anxious to get back into bed. Jake stands and moves through the kitchen. He places a small box from Sweet Delights on the counter.
“What the hell?” He laughs at my expression.
“I had Lacy make something for us.” He opens the box, and I find a decadent mini chocolate cake. I totally did not see Lacy making this. She’s a sneaky one.
“That looks so good.” It’s one of my favorite recipes.
“It’s going to taste even better when I eat it off of you.” He dips his finger into the frosting and I wait for him to put it on me and lick, but he sucks his finger instead. “Oh, yeah. Delicious. Want a taste?” I nod. He dips his finger into the frosting again and paints it on my lips. Just as I’m licking them, his mouth covers mine in a heated kiss.
Another swipe through the frosting and he offers his finger. I suck it clean and smile smugly when he moans. Jake tears his t-shirt from my body and spreads frosting with bits of cake over my breasts and begins to clean them up with his mouth. I moan and tangle my fingers in his hair. He spreads more on my stomach and licks it off.
When he looks up at me, I have frosting on my finger and put it in his mouth. I love the feel of his wet mouth on my skin and his tongue teasing the underside of m
y finger. I reach over with my other hand for a small piece of cake and spread it on his neck, moving my head down to lick it off and suck his sensitive skin.
We continue this erotic play as we build each other up with our mouths. I spread a bit on his lower belly where his unsnapped jeans land and move off the stool to lick it off. Jake’s breath catches at the feel of my tongue on him. I lower his zipper and stare up at him through my lashes. I smile mischievously at him and stand to reach for the cake. We’re a sticky mess of chocolate goodness that is spread all over our bodies.
I spread frosting over the underside of his cock and lick it clean from the base to the tip. Jake shudders and I repeat my actions. Cake. Tongue. More cake. Mouth. I cover his length with my mouth and suck him. His natural flavor mixes with the chocolate, and my moan vibrates along his shaft. Jake’s hands reach for my head and hold me firmly in place while I use my mouth and tongue to please him, taking him to the back of my throat before coming back up to suck his head. I keep up my rhythm and reach for his balls, gently massaging them.
His body grows rigid and he encourages me to continue. It is now Jake’s moans filling the kitchen as he climaxes in my mouth. I swallow all of him and smile up at him. He picks me up and tosses me over his shoulder and carries me into his bedroom, closing the door behind him.
“My turn to play,” he lowers his body over mine and we get lost in each other.
I walk out of my yoga class sweaty and tired. I could use a soak in my tub. Work was really busy today. Usually the first few weeks of summer break are slow since school is out already and college kids head out of town for summer. It’s nice to see people coming into Sweet Delights each day.
“Hello?” The ringing of the phone disrupts my thoughts.
“Hey, babe. I take it you’re out of yoga.” I smile hearing Jake’s voice through the speaker.
“Just finished, and I am headed home to take a bath and relax.”
He snickers. “Is that an invitation?”
“It actually wasn’t. If you come over now, we won’t make it to the bonfire.”
“That is accurate. I’d keep you all to myself.”
“You have me to yourself. How was work?”
“Great. First week as manager and things have been running smoothly.”
“I’m happy to hear that. We can celebrate tonight,” I say.
“I have another way of celebrating,” he tantalizes.
“We can do that after the bonfire.” His friends invited us to a bonfire to celebrate summer, and I have been really excited about it. There’s nothing better than sitting out by a fire on a summer night, with cold drinks and friends.
I relax in the tub and let the water soak into my skin as I rest my eyes a bit, the aroma from the bubbles relax me. The songs playing on the radio take me away as I imagine my own backcountry roads and bonfires, just like the ones portrayed in the songs.
I’m grateful for giving Jake a chance and giving into my feelings for him. I know I denied them and tried to ignore the facts, but I was blind to who he really is. I only saw what I wanted to see, which is quite judgmental and unfair. I already know I can be a bitch at times. Jake helps me allow my emotions to show without feeling like I need to cover them up as some sort of front. I love him for that, and I love that I feel comfortable enough to not give a crap if someone thinks I’m being a sap. Let me be, and don’t judge me, just let me enjoy my hot boyfriend.
I dry my hair and style it with natural waves falling over my shoulders, twisting my layers and clipping them on the back of my head. I put on light make-up and dress casually with jean shorts and a print tee. While I wait for Jake to pick me up, I grab the book I’ve been reading lately and allow my imagination to run wild.
Not long after, I hear the knock on my door and smile as I answer. I stare up into his smiling baby blues. “Hi,” I greet him.
“Hi.” Jake leans in to kiss me. His greeting is so much better than my one word. “I like the boots,” he says looking down at my feet.
“I can rock a pair of boots.”
“You sure can. I like the shorts too.” His hand moves from my waist further down until he squeezes my butt gently. That small act connects to my core and turns me on.
“Are you ready to go?” I smirk and lift my eyebrows. If I could read his mind, I’m pretty sure I’d know what he’s thinking.
“The faster we leave, the faster we get back so I can have my way with you.”
The fire is burning brightly in the center of the field and music is playing from speakers connected to a pickup truck. People are laughing and drinking while they catch up with friends. A few people are moving to the music and others are sitting around the fire making S’mores. I take a sip of my Crown and lean into Jake’s side. His arm wraps around my shoulder and holds me close. He’s toasting a marshmallow with his other hand, and once it puffs a bit, he fixes the S’more.
“That looks good,” I say eyeing it.
“You said you didn’t want one.”
“I lied. Can I have a bite?”
“This one’s mine. Make your own,” he jokes.
I laugh and lean in to take a bite before he can pull it away. I almost fall off my seat, but I successfully eat a piece of his S’more. Jake laughs harder and I look at him with confusion, wondering what is so funny. He leans in to kiss the corner of my mouth, but I feel his tongue on my skin.
“You had some chocolate there.”
“Did you just lick chocolate off my face in front of people?” I say, blushing.
“You know I can’t control myself when you have chocolate on your skin.” His breath is hot on my lips, and I breathe deeply trying to keep my emotions in check. No need to give his friends a show.
“Chocolate tastes pretty good off your skin, too.”
“Wanna go home and try it?” he asks.
“No! I’m having fun.” Jake chuckles and finishes off his S’more.
“You two are so sweet together,” Tracy, Jake’s friend, says as she takes a seat beside us.
“Thanks, Trace,” Jake responds for us. “Where’s Justin?” He looks around in search of his friend.
“He’s talking to Luke.”
“Oh, cool. I haven’t seen Luke yet.” Most of Jake’s friends are from high school. It’s nice to see that they have stayed tight throughout the years. Some are familiar from seeing them around Southern and Sweet Delights.
“Hey guys!” I hear a female voice say. We turn to look at who has just greeted us, and Tracy hugs the woman excitedly.
“Hi, Amy! I wasn’t sure you’d make it.”
“I almost didn’t.”
“Hey, Jake.”
“Hey. It’s good to see you. Man, it’s been years.” He stands to greet her.
“It really has been.”
“This is my girlfriend, Beth. Beth, this is Amy.” Jake introduces us.
“Hi,” I stand and shake her hand. She smiles sweetly.
“Nice to meet you. He’s a great one, I should know. Don’t let him go,” Amy says. Jake chuckles awkwardly, and I tilt my head to stare at him. Tracy takes Amy to go say hi to the other people.
“Umm . . . Did I just meet an ex?” I almost want to laugh but not sure if that would be appropriate. I’m pretty sure it’s my nerves.
“Yeah. We dated in high school for a little while. It wasn’t really serious.”
“Should I be jealous she’s here?” I tease.
“Oh, yeah, like you would ever be jealous of anyone.”
“Hey! I could be. You never know. I may just lose it and go crazy because your ex-girlfriend is here saying how great of a boyfriend you are.”
“You have nothing to worry about.”
“I know,” I smile up at him and wrap my arms around his neck. “She’s really pretty.”
“That’s awkward. Way to ruin a moment.” He laughs and kisses me softly. “Do you want a S’more?”
“Yes,” I say against his lips.
“At least you
re being honest now. Come on, let’s make some.” We refill our drinks and grab what we need to make two S’mores and sit back down by the fire. I get to know a few more of his friends while we eat and drink. I also spend some time talking to Amy and realize she’s a sweetheart. There’s also definitely nothing to worry about in terms of her having feelings for Jake. A girl’s gotta make sure. After yawning three times, Jake laughs and asks if I want to leave. We say our good-byes and head home. I’ll be tired at work tomorrow, but it will be worth it.
“Baby, wake up.” I hear Jake’s voice near my ear and then his lips on my neck. “Beth,” he whispers.
“Hmm,” I sleepily shift and open one eye. His gorgeous smile meets me. I stretch in bed and curl back onto my side.
“Are you going to get out of bed?” he asks, running his hand down my arm.
“What time is it?” I ask with my eyes still closed.
“Just past nine thirty.”
“I must’ve been really tired.” I’m usually up by eight in the morning on Sundays.
“I did work you out last night,” Jake says smugly.
“That you did.” I pull him to me and kiss him. “I’m surprised you’re awake already.”
“My phone woke me up. My sister called to invite us over for lunch.” He waits for my reaction. I sit up in bed.
“Are you ready for me to meet your family?” I smirk.
“I am. Are you sure you’re not nervous about it?”
“You’re such a pain! Don’t make me nervous. Of course it’s stressful to meet your boyfriend’s family. Are your parents going to be there too?” He nods in response. Maybe I am a little nervous. I wonder what they’re like. If they are anything like Jake, they will be amazing. After all, his parents are responsible for raising him. They must be awesome. I hope they like me. I realize I’m babbling to myself in my head.
