Sorry, Saardak, but I don't care about any of this, I thought, leafing through the pages of his travel journal. The information I need will be highlighted or marked in some way—that's what I'm watching out for.

I stifled a sigh at the memory of Alsar and his rescue. I would love to visit them as well at some point... but that would have to wait. I turned the page... and swore with exasperation. Gods damn it! I should have known that if the Southern Barbarians were involved, I could forget about the path above being easy. Rereading the lines of text highlighted orange, I shook my head. Indeed, why would I expect that finding the second fragment of the portal scroll would be easier than the first? But man, I was getting tired of all this adventuring!
"According to ancient legends, conveyed to me by Yridag, the head shaman of the Southern Barbarian alliance, after the undead army that had escaped the Gray Frontier was demolished at the shrine of Setara in Rualt, a fragment of black repylite, which the Light Gods had used to seal our lands following the Wars of Chaos, ended up in the hands of one of the Dark Gods. And the second fragment is said to be kept in a place where the Great Essences cannot go. The exact location is unknown, but unconfirmed reports—rumors, essentially—place it somewhere in the lands of the Southern Barbarians. My friend! I trust that you have heard the stories of a city lost amid the centuries, in which two Great Dragons guard..."
Cathella! Bloody hell! How did I not see it coming?! After earning the respect of the Overlord himself, there simply wasn't a spot left in this plane that I couldn't get access to at the snap of a finger. So, of course, here comes freaking Cathella, where not even Ahriman could help me! Also, hadn't Kert mentioned something about dragons...
I reached for the flask, contemplated it for a while, and put it back. If only I could simply drink my problems away, but, alas, that wasn't in the stars... All right, enough with the self-pity! Besides the second fragment, Cathella was bound to have all sorts of items, places and creatures of interest. Great Dragons, Elder Demons, Dark Gods? Bring them on! They wouldn't be the first I'd meet on my path, and I was still here, still going strong. When you're left without any power in the story of your life, the only option left is to change the story. I rose to my feet, tossed the now useless notebook back on the desk, and made for the exit. Life sure was a strange thing... All of a sudden I remembered the stubborn face of the raven-haired noob in the mirror of a Lamorna inn... Gray sackcloth and a staff like a spade handle... I was still human then... I shook off the onrushing memories. Let the past be the past. And besides, there were benefits to being a demon, just as long as you didn't forget what you once were...
