“Ally Brooks. I like the way that sounds,” I admitted.
“I like it too,” she said, tears still fresh on her cheeks. I’ve never seen her smile this way before. It encompasses every single part of her and I get it because I feel the same way. This is our moment. We’ve won. We beat the odds.
“Forever?” I asked, running my fingers across her cheek as she gazes up at me.
“And then some,” she smiles and then I kiss her.
Epilogue

Guys don’t dream about their wedding day. At least I never did. Hell, I never thought I’d have a wedding day. I was pretty damn set to not have one. Why would anyone subject themselves to something like that? Let alone a marriage where you’re tied to someone forever just to risk them leaving you behind with nothing?
I’ll tell you why.
You do it because, as cheesy as it sounds, being with that person completes you. They make you whole and they make you better. You do it because you can’t imagine spending another day without having them tied to you in every way possible.
You do it because you want your girl to have your name.
You do it because you want the entire world to know that you are the luckiest bastard in the world because she agreed to wear your ring.
Yeah, I never thought about my wedding day, but if I had bothered, I’m pretty sure it would have looked something like this. Everyone gathered in this old barn, our own private joke, with sparkling lights hanging from the rafters and flowers lining the make shift aisle. It was simple, but the whole place looked like a dream. It was exactly what she had wanted and that was all that mattered to me.
But what made it perfect was that moment when I stood there at the end of the aisle and saw her come into view.
My heart stopped.
I had never seen anything that beautiful before. It was as if in that single moment everything I had ever dreamed about came true. And every dream for my future suddenly felt within my reach. She was heaven staring back at me.
Her dress was beautiful, but I couldn’t tell you a single thing about it, except it was white and she looked like an angel in it. I wanted to run down the aisle to get to her faster. It took all I had to keep my feet planted on the ground. She gave me a soft smile and I swear I fell in love all over again. Tears pricked my eyes and I didn’t care at all. Let them fall. Let the whole world know that this beautiful creature owns me.
Everything we’ve been through, every moment we fought against to be here was worth it. This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been ours. We are stronger because of it and I know that from this point forward we have what it takes to power through anything life throws at us. That’s my promise to her today. And I can’t wait to keep it.
Well, that and the promise I made to finally have my way with her in a barn.
I’m going to keep that one too.
Finished.
