  “I know she did. I went to visit her last night, and we talked about it. I helped her get that gun,” Cassandra said calmly. She was elated inside. Justice for her daughter and husband had been served.

  Cassandra and Chastity both stooped over the gravesite and placed their flowers as a show of respect. Cassandra sobbed and Chastity comforted her. “They’re in a better place,” Chastity consoled. She thought about her mother, Leticia, and even R.J. and Tori—all casualties of war.

  “Yes. I know. I’m just glad that they both got to tell their stories from the grave,” Cassandra replied.

  “Well, they say that everybody has a story to tell. The dead speak volumes, while we, the living just learn page by page,” Chastity said as they held onto each other and headed out of the cemetery. They had a trip to take, and a few more graves to visit.
