There are many weapons that are good for killing zombies. Swords and katanas are your best options. Firearms are your second best as long as you have the ammo. Bludgeons and bludgeoning objects can be great options as long as the body strength is there to use them. Some weapons, like daggers or most explosives are simply not going to be your best bet against zombies. When choosing a weapon, remember the following questions. How much physical strength and aerobic ability do I have? What weapons am I most likely to find or will be in my price range? Do I want long range weapons or am I comfortable with hand-to-hand combat? If a weapon requires maintenance or other parts (like ammo or basic material) how likely am I to come across them if I run out? What is my level of expertise with this weapon? Do I have someone or some books or guides that can help me learn the weapon so that I do not injure myself? And lastly, is this something that will easily kill a zombie or do extensive enough damage to the head to kill it? If the weapon you intend to use is scarce, you may want to start training, shopping, and stocking up now rather than later. Always carry at least two weapons (your primary weapon and a backup weapon). You may want to consider having something to slow zombies down or to use as a last ditch effort to escape as well.
