The Thrill of It All

Page 28

by Christie Ridgway

She’d made herself into a hell of a woman.

His heartbeat speeded up and his mouth dried, overcome with gratitude. “Thank you,” he croaked out. She’d careened into the darkness he’d considered “living” and awakened him to beauty, passion, and…

But he hadn’t said that word yet, had he?

“I’m in love with you, too,” he said. “I love you so much.”

And then she threw herself against him and he fell over, Felicity landing on top of him. He laughed, and with the earth at his back and the sun on his face, Michael Magee held on tight, preparing for the biggest thrill of his life.

  Epilogue

  From the GetTV web site:

GetTV is happy to announce that our own award-winning Felicity Charm married rock climber and businessman Michael Magee in a small beachside ceremony on Kaui, February 14. Follow the links below to exclusive honeymoon photos of the newlyweds swimming, sun-bathing, and, of course, shopping!

Felicity will return on-air in April, once she and her husband settle into their new home, which Felicity claims is exactly equidistant from each of their former residences. “When opposites attract,” she told us, “it’s natural to meet halfway!”

From the back of an oversized postcard tacked to the bulletin board at the Bivy, in Half Palm, California:

Aloha, the Bivy! We were shopping (can you believe it?) and Felicity found some joint where you can make postcards from your own photos. So here we are in that famous sacred pool (men, you’ll remember it from the Sheryl Crow music video of a few years back). My bride climbed to the top of the cliff happily enough, but then refused to jump in. So…oops!…I grabbed her by accident and took her down with me (which explains how I ended up in a shopping center, it was the only way to get her talking to me again).

Tomorrow we have a long hike planned. Must say I think marriage is agreeing with both of us. Until we see you all—carpe diem! (And to whoever gave us the his and hers Carpe Genitalia T-shirts—I assure you, we’re doing plenty of that, too.)

  About the Author

CHRISTIE RIDGWAY has never lived east of the Pacific Ocean, north of San Francisco, or south of San Diego. To put it simply, she’s a California native who loves to travel but is happy to make the Golden State her home.

She began her writing career in fifth grade when she penned a volume of love stories featuring herself and a teen idol who will probably be thrilled to remain nameless. Later, though, after marrying her college sweetheart, Christie again took up writing romances, this time with imaginary heroes and heroines.

In a house full of males—one terrific husband, two school-age sons, a yellow dog, and tankfuls of fish, reptiles and amphibians—Christie makes her own place (and peace) writing the kinds of stories she loves best.

Christie enjoys hearing from readers. You may write to her at PO Box 3803, La Mesa, CA 91944, or visit her website at www.christieridgway.com.
