Unspoken Promises (The Unspoken Love Series Book 2) Page 8

by H. P. Davenport

“For some reason, I seem to be missing spots. If you rub the lotion in, it will give me a more even tan.”

“We could always go back to the room, and you can lounge naked on the private patio.” He wiggles his brows at me. Things between us have been perfect besides when he made an ass out of himself at the check-in counter on our first day and when I spotted him in the distance watching the wedding. I pushed that aside, not wanting that to ruin our trip.

“My vagina needs a rest. You’ve worn me out, babe.” We’ve been having sex like rabbits. I missed us being together. Lincoln and I have always had a healthy sex life. I remember the first time we had sex, he was so gentle and loving.

It was the week after our senior prom. Lincoln and I had been together since homecoming our junior year of high school.

“My parents are away for the weekend for my dad’s job. You can stay the weekend. Just tell your mom you’re staying at Christian’s house.” I told Lincoln.

Lincoln stopped at the doorway to my bedroom. “Are you sure you want to do this?” Lincoln asked. “We don’t have to if you’re not ready.”

“No, I’m ready. I want to.” I said

I patted the side of the bed for him to come sit next to me. Lincoln walked to me, but he didn’t sit on the bed. Rather he spread my legs and stood between them.

“Jenna said it hurts the first time.”

He took my face in his hands and titled my face to look at him. “I promise I won’t hurt you. I’ll be gentle. We can do it slow the first time.”

“Promise? Promise you won’t ever hurt me.” I was asking him to promise me more than just not hurting me during sex. I wanted him to promise that he’d never hurt me… period.

“Promise. I would never. Whether it be right now, or ever. I won’t purposely hurt you, babe.” Lincoln kissed me softly on the lips.

I nodded my head letting him know that I trusted him.

“This changes everything, you know that. Once I make love to you, you’re mine, Morgan. Only mine.”

“I know it changes things. We’ve waited for the right time to do this. I want this. I want you.”

“Always and forever.” He leaned down and kissed my forehead.

  “Stand up, babe.”

I did as he told me to. His hands trembled as he unbuttoned my shirt. He pushed the shirt off my shoulders revealing my pink bra.

  “You’re beautiful, Morgan.”

A shy smile appeared on my face. This would be the first time Lincoln saw me completely naked.

I went to unbutton my jeans, but he stopped me. “Let me. I want to undress you the first time we make love. I want to savor every minute of this. I want to memorize your body. I don’t know when we’ll get to do this again.” He gave me a smile that made my pulse race.

He unbuttoned my jeans and slowly worked them and my panties down my legs. His fingers lightly touched my legs while he made his way to the floor. “Step out of your pants, babe.”

I placed my hands on his shoulders, holding myself steady as I stepped out of my pants. His hands rubbed my thighs as he made his way back up my body. He lightly caressed my sides, his fingertips barely touched me, but they still gave me goosebumps and made me shiver. His stare never wavered.

I covered myself, as I became subconscious that I stood there completely naked. “Don’t cover yourself, Morgan. You’re beautiful. Your body is beautiful.”

“Kiss me, Lincoln.” I pleaded. I needed him to kiss me. I was nervous. We’ve never done this before. We’d been together for a year and a half. We’re no angels. We’d explored each other’s bodies. We made out, I jerked him off, he fingered me, but we never went any farther.

Tonight was the night. Tonight was the night that Lincoln was going to make love to me for the first time. My heart beat erratically. My pulse raced. He was going to take my virginity.

“I love you, baby, you know that, right?” he asked.

I nodded my head. “I know… I love you, too.”

His tongue traced my lips. He sucked my bottom lip into his mouth, biting it lightly. His kiss slow and thoughtful. Lincoln’s kisses were surprisingly gentle.

He pulled away. My lips burned in the aftermath.

He pulled a condom out of his back pocket and laid it on the bed. He kicked off his shoes and stripped out of his pants and tossed them to the side. He pulled his shirt over his head, throwing it with his pants.

I laid back in my bed, as he crawled up and laid on top of my body gently.

He buried his face into my neck. Placed soft kisses by my ear all the way to my shoulder. His lips continued to explore my burning flesh. Lincoln kissed my neck and sucked hard before pulling away. I’m gonna have a hickey. Good thing my parents are away.

He raised his mouth from mine as he gazed into my eyes.

“If you want to stop, just tell me. Promise?”

  I nodded my head.

  “Say it, Morgan, tell me.”

“I’ll tell you if I want you to stop.” My soft voice urged him to continue.

With fumbling hands, Lincoln put the condom on. He lined up his penis with my opening and pushed in slowly.

  A gasp left my mouth.

He stopped. “Am I hurting you?” he asked.

  “It hurts, but don’t stop.”

He pushed a little farther, then he stilled.

I bit my lower lip and squeezed my eyes shut praying the pain would stop. It feels like he is tearing my insides apart. A lone tear escaped my closed eyes.

  “Are you okay.”

“Yes, just keep going. I’ll tell you if you need to stop.”

I buried my head into his shoulder and pushed against him. He pushed more until he was all the way in. Not that I had ever seen another boy’s penis, but Lincoln was big. I felt him stretching me. Once he was all the way in, he stilled. Giving my body time to adjust.

It burned, but the pain was bearable once he was completely in.

I needed to kiss him. I needed to think of something other than the burning sensation. My lips found Lincoln’s. He crushed his mouth to mine, he kissed me hard, demanding and reckless.

He sucked my lower lip between his teeth, biting it softly. He continued to kiss me until my mouth felt like it was on fire. I burned with desire. I wanted Lincoln more than I ever wanted anyone else. He was mine. I was his. We promised each other that. Always and forever.

He moved slowly, finding a slow and steady tempo. My hands caressed his back. When he pulled out and pushed back in, I dug my nails in his back. I pushed my hips into him when my belly began to tingle. I felt the tingle work its way down my legs.

The touch of his lips on mine sent a shock wave through my entire body. He pulled out and pushed in repeatedly. I squeezed my eyes shut when I started to have my orgasm.

  “Lincoln, I’m gonna come.”

“It’s okay, baby, that’s what I want you to do. Come for me.”

He thrusted his hips faster. That was all I needed. I tightened my legs around his waist.

“Look at me, Morgan. I want to see you come. I wanna see you fall apart.”

I opened my eyes and saw Lincoln’s dark blue eyes staring at me.

My body convulsed and my core tightened around Lincoln. I was coming.

“Fuck,” he grunted. “You’re so tight, baby, I can feel you squeezing me.”

Once my body relaxed, Lincoln quickened his pace and within a few thrusts, he groaned, and bit me between my neck and my shoulder. Damn, I’m gonna have another mark.

His hips thrusted a few more times before his orgasm hit him.

He stilled above me, taking my face between his hands.

“I love you, Morgan,” he said and placed a soft kiss on my lips, then the tip of my nose.

  “I love you so much.”

He pulled out of my body slowly and walked to my adjoining bathroom. I heard the water running. He peaked his head out of the door. “Come on, I ran a warm bath for you so you won’t be sore.”

  That night in
my bedroom I remember so clearly, Lincoln not only took my virginity, he took my heart. I gave it willingly. It would forever be his. I prayed that he would never break it. I can only hope that unspoken promise remains true.

Four days away was just what the doctor ordered. Lincoln and I needed that time away. Away from the city, away from Aces and Redemption. We needed time to reenergize. We needed to focus on us. But now here we are back at work, back to reality and our hectic lives of owning clubs.

It’s Saturday night and Redemption is packed. Side Effects is scheduled to go on at eleven, I’m hoping Camryn and the girls come tonight.

“Levitate” by Hadouken! filters through the speakers. The tempo of the music is in sync with the black lights. People are dancing, their hands in the air. This song has a great beat, one that always gets people up on the dance floor.

The tables surrounding the perimeter of the club are filled. I see the waitresses maneuver through the crowd to service the tables.

I need to check in on the bachelorette party that booked the private room upstairs. I head to the back stairs and run into one of my bouncers, Jason.

  “Hey, Morgan. You working tonight?

“When don’t I work, Jason? This place is my second home.”

  “True. How’s it going?”

“Good, can’t complain. The place is packed. The only way I like it.”

“The schedule said I’m on the side door. If you need anything let me know. Once we reach capacity, do you need me anywhere else.”

“No, stay at the side door. That way if anyone leaves, they need to come back around front to get in. I don’t want any door unattended.”

  “Got it.”

“I have my ear piece, let me know if you need anything.”

As I walk away my heel gets caught on the end of the step causing me to lose my balance and almost fall.

A hand stops me from face planting into the steps. “I got you. Don’t want you messing up that pretty little face of yours by hitting the steps face first.”

My body stiffens. The man has his hands around my waist. Once I right myself back up to a standing position, I brush my hands down my tight jeans and adjust my shirt.

“I think this belongs to you.” The man hands me my heel from my shoe. Damn it. This is not how I want to start the night.

He extends his hand to me. “I’m Greg.” He nods his head toward the DJ booth. “DJ Magnum is my client, I’m his agent.”

I shake his hand. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I’ve only spoken to you on the phone. I’m Morgan Kennedy, manager of Redemption.

“The infamous Morgan Kennedy. I don’t know if I should kiss your hand or bow.”

“Oh, stop. Flattery gets you nowhere.”

“I beg to differ. I’ve been told flattery can get you far.”

I raise a brow at him. “Oh, really, that’s what you’ve been told? Is there something I can do for you? What brings you all the way to my club?”

“I was hoping for a moment of your time.”

“Sure, follow me. I need to check on a bachelorette party in the private room. Make sure they have everything. Then we can talk in my office. I also have a spare set of heels in there.” I say, waving my broken one in the air.

Things were fine with the party. The bartenders have the drinks flowing and the stripper arrived as I was making an exit to the door. It seems like everywhere I turn, weddings, parties, and showers are being shoved in my face. I know Lincoln doesn’t want to get married, but I don’t know how much longer I can do this. Why should I have to give up something that I’ve always wanted just because he doesn’t have the same visions of our future?

I push those feelings aside and focus on the task at hand. Find a new pair of shoes and find out what Greg needs. I unlock my office, holding the door open for Greg to enter. I close the door behind me, sitting behind my desk and kick my shoes off.

He sits in the black leather chair in front of my desk.

“I’m sorry to show up here unannounced tonight. But I’ve been meaning to speak to you about Magnum.”

“Okay, you’ve got my attention. Speak,” I say curtly.

“You pay him a percentage of the cover charges you draw in on nights he provides his services.”

“True. But you know that already. What are you really here to discuss?” I ask, my eyes narrowing. This could have been done over the phone. What made his agent come all the way down to the club?

“Magnum wants a higher percentage. He knows the nights he’s here, the place sells out. He wants thirty-five percent of the cover charges. You make money from the cover charges and from the sale of drinks and food. He draws in the people, therefore you make more money.”

He shifts in the chair, lifting his right ankle to settle on this left knee. “He’s hoping we can come to an agreement. He enjoys working here, but he could make his money elsewhere. There are hundreds of places in this city.”

“I know there are hundreds of places in this city, you don’t have to remind me. But need I remind you that he makes a pretty penny every time he steps foot in my door. If he wanted more money, he could have approached me, you could have called me on the phone. There’s no need to show up at my club unannounced on a packed night, when I am needed in a million different places.”

There’s a knock at the door. Before I can tell the person on the other side to come in, the door opens. Lincoln has a bag in his hand and a bottle of wine in the other.

His footsteps falter when he sees Greg. “I’m sorry, did I interrupt something?” he says as his eyes bounce around my office.

“No, he was just leaving. Do me a favor, please call me on Monday and we can discuss this more in-depth. Tonight is busy and my attendance is needed in the club.”

Greg stands and extends his hand to me. “It was nice to finally meet you. I’ll be in touch.” He walks past Lincoln without introducing himself.

Lincoln walks in placing the bag on my desk. “I thought you’d be hungry. I brought dinner for us. I figured the assistant manager could handle things for an hour so I can have you to myself.”

I walk around my desk and throw my arms around Lincoln’s neck. “Oh, did you?”

He leans down and places a kiss on my lips. He pulls back and looks at my feet. “Why are you barefoot?”

“My heel broke on the steps. I keep a spare here in the office.”

“Who was that?” He asks as he points toward the door.

“Nobody important. Just the DJ’s agent. He wanted to discuss more money. Tonight is not the time for that.”

I wave my hand at the door, dismissing Greg. “Enough about him. What did you bring me to eat? Well, besides yourself,” I say seductively.

“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” He pulls me close and bites my earlobe between his teeth. “I bet you’d like me to take you right here on your desk.”

Words don’t form on my tongue, so I just nod.

And that’s how I find myself being pushed down on my desk and Lincoln unbuttoning my jeans. He pulls them down, tossing them to the side. He hikes my knees up, placing my feet on the edge of my desk and tugs my panties to the side. His hands spread my legs wide.

He takes a long lick from back to front, making my body tremble.

“Who needs dinner, when I have you to feast on. You’re my favorite thing to eat,” he says against my core.

He kisses, sucks, nips and bites my clit. A soft moan escapes my throat.

“Lincoln, you locked the door, didn’t you?” I ask.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” he teases me.

He kisses my inner thigh, giving the same attention to the other. “Would you like someone to walk in on us? See me eating your pussy. That would turn you on, wouldn’t it?”

He returns to my core, giving it his undivided attention. I can’t help myself, my hands reach for his head, holding him where I need him most. I grind against his face.

Within minutes I’m on the brink of
an earth-shattering orgasm.

“Lincoln…” I cry out as my orgasm pulses through me.

He continues his relentless attack on me until another orgasm hits.

He pulls back and wipes his mouth with the bottom of his shirt. His lips touch mine gently. “You okay, babe?”

“I need a minute. Just give me a minute,” my voice breaks.

Lincoln laughs. “I’ll give you a minute. I told you I wanted an hour with you. If you stay spread out like that before me, I’m bound to continue to eat you rather than the food I brought for us.

I laugh at his comment. “I need food. I need energy after that if I plan on working tonight.”

“Go clean up in the bathroom. I’ll get our dinner ready for us.”

I pull myself up off of my desk. On shaky legs, I head to the bathroom to freshen up. I can’t have people saying I smell like a round of mind-blowing sex, now can I?

When I come out my office, it’s illuminated by candles on my desk. I see the name on the bag that he carried into the office with him. It’s from my favorite Italian restaurant that we go to all the time. There are two wine glasses and he has the food on our plates.

He lifts his wine glass and tilts it toward me. I pick my glass up and clink it to his. “To us,” he says.

“To us. Maybe one day you’ll commit to spending the rest of your life with me,” I toast.

“Really?” He asks with a raised brow. “I don’t need a piece of paper to prove my love to you.”

“It’s more than a piece of paper and you know it.” I respond with quiet emphasis.

This is an argument that neither of us walks away from unscathed so I just drop it…again.

I know Lincoln loves me, but is his love enough? It’s nights like this that make me remember all the reasons I fell in love with him. It’s nights like this that I can push marriage aside and just love the man I’m with. But I have more nights that I want to be married. Those nights outweigh the ones where marrying the man I love isn’t at the forefront of my mind. I won’t beg him to marry me. A woman’s ego can only withstand so much.

The sound of laughter fills the room next to where we are sitting. My mother raises her brows at me. “There’s a wedding shower going on over there.”
