“The reason he’s in pain is because he has some feeling in his legs now. Of course because of the neglect he’s got some permanent damage now but we can work with that.”

“Are you saying he might walk some day?” Shayna dared to hope.

“I can’t say for sure but with the right care, he might and I stress might, be able to do so much more than he’s able to do now.”

Shayna turned to gaze through the window at her brother. She was surprised to find him looking back at her. Pressing her hand against the glass, she smiled. Danny reached out as if to hold his hand against hers. “He’s awake,” she announced.

“Let me go in and see how’s he is then.” The doctor opened the door.

Shayna stood in the open doorway but didn’t enter the room. One of the police officers joined them and began asking questions as the doctor did his exam. A few moments later, he turned to Shayna and motioned her forward.

Shayna took a hesitatant step toward her brother. Tears streamed down her face as she closed the distance between them. Then she grabbed his hand and leaned over him. Touching her forehead to his she whispered, “I thought I lost you.”

Danny locked eyes with her. “You almost did. That bastard Sean broke my door down and shoved me in my chair, all the while cursing your name. He told me all you had to do was follow orders and that you couldn’t even do that. He pushed me down toward the stairway and then he told me that you’d be sorry for betraying him. He tipped me out of my chair and I fell down the steps.” Danny shook his head and looked at his sister. “He just walked over me. Benjy kicked me in the ribs as he chased after Sean. I thought I was dead when I heard the car peal out of the driveway. Then Lindsay showed up. She was crying and kept saying she was sorry but she had to get out of there. She kept saying she never signed up for murder but she was too afraid to stay.” Danny shook his head. “Then this crazy old man showed up. Next time I opened my eyes, I was here.”

Shayna knelt beside him then heard a chair being dragged toward her. Bowie assisted her to her feet then let her sit down on the chair. She looked over her shoulder and smiled at him then turned back to her brother.

Danny frowned at her then looked around the room. Looking back at Shayna he asked, “What’s going on here sis? Who are all these people? Uncle Sean isn’t going to like this.”

Shayna laughed shortly. “I don’t think we’ll have to deal with Sean anymore.”

  “What do you mean?”

“Sean fucked up royally yesterday. Benjy followed me to the shop and saw them drag me inside.” She motioned to the bikers in the room. “They weren’t as stupid as Sean thought. They knew something was up, so they had someone watching the shop too. When the old man saw Benjy running away he followed and he witnessed Sean and Benjy leaving, but he also heard your scream when Sean tossed you down the stairs. He got you to the hospital and these guys brought me along. Long story short, Sean claimed I threw you down the steps and he got a restraining order to keep me away from you. Then the bastard sent Benjy and Orrin in to take us out. They didn’t get the job done. Now they are in jail.”

Danny studied his sister for a moment, then said, “Finish it. I know there’s more. Tell me all of it.”

“Sean showed up himself in the early hours. He got to me but he couldn’t get to you. You had police and bikers guarding your door. He escaped for now but isn’t going far.”

Danny looked scared. He lived with this every day since they’d come here. It had been bad with their grandfather but since Sean had taken them away from Boston, life had become harder. He proved time and time again that he didn’t care about either of them. “What’s going to happen now?” he finally asked.

“I don’t know,” Shayna told him. “I may have put us in even more danger.”

“What do you mean?’ Danny frowned.

  “They asked about Boston.”

Danny’s eyes widened. “What did you tell them?” he dared to whisper.

  “Everything,” Shayna admitted.

  “Holy shit.” He groaned.

“I know.” Shayna hung her head. Then she raised it to stare at the one person she loved more than anything. “But I was so tired of being afraid all the time. And I was mad at Sean for what he did to you.”

“Well,” Danny exhaled out loud. “If we live through this, at least we’ll have each other.”

Bones shook his head. “You guys will be protected and we won’t stop until your uncle is either dead or in jail.”

“If she told you everything then it isn’t only Sean we have to worry about. There’s Brody Alkins and Ronnie Silver to think about too.”

“Yeah about Ronnie Silver.” Shayna shook her head. “I have a feeling the real mob will take care of him.”

Danny snapped his head around and gasped at her statement. But instead of explaining, Shayna shook her head. Danny dropped the subject for now, but they both knew it was be revisited when they were alone.

Hours later, Shayna was in Danny’s room staring out the window. Watching the street below she had her arms wrapped around her belly. Danny was having some tests run and she was alone for the first time in days it seemed.

But she wasn’t unaware. She heard the door swish open and her senses were alert. She didn’t dare look and then his scent reached her, she relaxed. Bowie. When his arms wrapped around her Shayna leaned against his strength.

  “Where is Danny?” Bowie whispered.

“They’re doing some more tests on him. She didn’t turn around but asked, “How is the shop? Is there anything left?”

“There’s more than we thought there would be. The fire took out the front of the building but didn’t get it all. We can’t find the silver Nash but at least we got something left to work with.”

“The Nash is gone?” She turned in his arms.

  Bowie nodded.

  She sighed. “Sean has it.”

Bowie frowned and stared at her for a moment. “How do you know that?”

“He admired it for days before he sent me in there the first time. He’d been checking out businesses when we first came here. He’d seen it sitting outside the shop. That’s why he picked your place. He wanted to steal the car. He wouldn’t have firebombed the building without getting the car out first.”

“Is that right?” Bowie smiled. “Then we have a way to find the bastard.” Reaching out, he grabbed her hand and dragged her toward the door.

“Where are we going?’ She giggled.

“We need to find my brother Mountain.”

  “Why?”

“Because you just gave us a way to find your uncle.”

“How the hell did I do that?” she inquired.

“Just wait a minute and it will all become clear.”

A few hours later, the afternoon was growing long. Men moved with the shadows as they lengthened and there were many eyes on the building. Brothers and police officers watched and waited.

The building was Sean’s backup residence. It was an older place on the very edge of Troy. There were no neighbors in the area so there would be no one watching the goings on at this particular house.

The house itself looked abandoned. Broken windows and neglect had taken its toll. But as they watched, they did see some movement inside. Using night scopes, they identified Sean and one other kid inside. The Nash was stored in the attached garage.

When Bowie heard Sean took the car he was happy. They had tracers on all the cars for just this reason. The tracer was well hidden and only the brothers knew where to look for it. A thief might check the regular places and get rid of it but the Morgan Brothers were smarter than the thieves.

As soon as Bowie told Mountain, Sean might have the vehicle he called up the tracking system and found the car. He worked with the police because he wouldn’t take any chances with Sean. Now here they were. Waiting until the shadows deepened to go in and take him into custody.

  Mountain glanced to
his left and saw the cop give the signal to move in. Gripping his gun a bit tighter, he moved in on silent feet. Then chaos clouded the next few minutes and when the dust settled Sean had handcuffs around his wrists and was screaming obscenities at the police. His accomplice was also in custody but instead of one kid in the residence, they had been three. The other two escaped but now they were on their own. The police could get them later.

Mountain and his brother Dante made their way down the hall toward Danny’s room.

  “Mountain...” Dante started.

Mountain slowed his walk as he could tell his brother wanted to talk about something important. “Yeah?”

“So, Bowie...” Dante stalled. “And this girl... He doesn’t even know her man.”

Mountain stopped, turned to his little brother and said, “Sometimes all it takes is to meet someone. You know almost instantly.”

Dante furrowed his brows. “What? You know what instantly?”

Mountain laughed. “You’ll see when it happens to you.” He shook his head, as he walked to the door.

Dante grumbled, “I mean what the fuck? What the hell has happened to you all?”

Mountain just kept chuckling as he opened the door.

Bowie was there with Shayna and Danny. When they pushed the door open, he took note of the fact that Shayna and Danny were almost sleeping.

Bowie looked over at his brothers. When he saw Mountain’s smile he grinned in response. “You got him?”

“We got him.” Mountain nodded. “We got another of his crew but two escaped.” He looked over at Shayna and noted she was sleeping but slumped to the side. He chuckled. “Brother, I think your woman needs a bed.”

Bowie checked Shayna and nodded. “Yeah, I know but she wouldn’t leave her brother until there was some word on Sean.” Leaning toward Shayna, he nudged her.

When she jerked awake, she looked at him then searched Mountain’s face.

“We got him,” Mountain told her.

Shayna collapsed forward and for a moment, she didn’t move. Then she lifted her head. She gazed at Danny and brushed a lock of hair off his face.

“I think we should go and get some sleep, babe,” Bowie told her as he watched her.

“Go ahead.” She nodded. “I can’t leave him alone. With Sean in jail, the cops won’t be here anymore.”

“It will be okay, the brothers will watch over Danny tonight. I brought Dante for the first shift. We’ll make new plans in the morning.”

She swung her gaze to Dante.

  He nodded his head.

Shayna turned to study Bowie. “I don’t have any place to go. Where am I going to sleep?”

  “You’re coming home with me.”

  “Why?” She shook her head.

Bowie leaned forward crushing his lips on hers. Shayna groaned and drew him closer.

When someone cleared their throat behind them‒most likely it was Dante‒Bowie broke the kiss.

They were both shaken by the kiss and slightly out of breath.

She was almost seeing stars. Breathless and dizzy just from a damn kiss!

Bowie looked at her and said, “That’s why you’re coming home with me.”

  Chapter Eight

When they arrived at Bowie’s place, Shayna looked at the house. He’d told her on the way over he’d just moved out of the building next door to the shop. He said he bought this house a month ago.

She stood back and waited while Bowie unlocked the door. He ushered her inside and snapped on the lights as he entered. She gasped as she looked around the room. It was so nice. He had a sofa and a recliner. His floors were clean and there were no food cartons sitting around. She gazed around at the entire first floor. It was an open floor design and she could see not only the living room but the kitchen and beyond as well.

A little dazed she looked over at him. “This is very nice.”

Bowie glanced around and shrugged. “It’s a little scarce but that’s ok with me. I don’t like a lot of clutter.” He moved forward and cupping her elbow he said, “Come on, we need to get some sleep.” He led her down the hall to the master bedroom. He went through the door and turned on the lights.

Shayna gasped again and looked around the room. He had a huge bed in there and a pair of matching dressers. Matching night stands graced either side of the bed and there was an open door that showed a bathroom off the bedroom. The walls were painted a soft grey and the carpet was black. Everything was sleek and clean.

Shayna had never seen a room like this one. Usually, Sean gathered just what he needed to survive whether it matched or not. “This is so nice,” she whispered.

Bowie frowned and studied his bedroom through her eyes. It was nice but it wasn’t all that. “Let’s grab a shower and go to bed. I’m exhausted.”

Shayna blushed. “Ok, are you going first then?”

Bowie smiled. Wrapping his arms around her he whispered, “I was hoping we could shower together.”

Shayna’s blush deepened, and she caught her lower lips in her teeth. “Yeah about that... I think you should know my uncle would never let me out of his sight long enough for me to date or anything like that.”

Bowie froze and searched her eyes for the truth. “Are you telling me you have no experience at all?”

Shayna nodded her head. Then she peeked at him. “But I wouldn’t mind getting some from you.”

Bowie smiled and cocked his head to one side. “Why?”

“I’ve never felt anything like what I do when you touch me.” She shrugged. “I know there’s more but I don’t know what that might be and I want to find out.”

Bowie smiled then ushered her toward the bathroom. When he got there, he turned on the water and turned to her, stepping closer he leaned over and kissed her.

As usual, the touch of his lips melted her insides. She groaned and leaned into his touch. Bowie deepened the kiss and began peeling off her clothes. He spread his kisses all over the skin he exposed and Shayna never realized she was bare until he gently pushed her against the glass wall of the shower and the coolness touched her skin.

She jumped away, yelping as her sense began returning. “Oh, my goodness...” she whispered as she noticed her bareness. Blushing deep red, she tried to cover her assets until Bowie stepped closer and pulled her hands away. He looked over her body and growled in awareness.

‘You are beautiful,” he told her.

“Really?” she asked. Pushing her hand behind her ear, she looked at him. She was so much smaller than him and she never really thought about being beautiful before. Her uncle always told her she would never be anything in his eyes. She never felt beautiful before, but she did now.

“Oh, yeah. Very beautiful and you’re all mine.” Bowie moved in and latched on to her lips as he pulled her into an embrace that took her breath away.

When he stepped back both were breathing heavily and all she could do was watch while he pulled his own clothes off.

Then he was in front of her naked as the day he was born but this was something Shayna had never seen before. He was muscled and strong, standing proud and tall as she inspected his form. His sharp planes and rippled chest and abs. His strong thighs and arms. She was avoiding the most important part of his anatomy but finally she had looked everything else she had to look there.

OMG he was truly a god, his cock long, thick and growing. Her eyes widened as she stared at it.

Bowie chuckled. “It’s not that bad is it?”

Shayna looked up and shook her head. “No it’s beautiful.”

“Beautiful?” He chuckled. “It’s been called many things but never beautiful.”

“Oh, but it is beautiful,” she insisted. “May I touch it?”

Bowie shook his head as he grinned at her excitement and spread out his arms. “Feel free to do whatever you want. It belongs to you now.”

Shayna’s mouth dropped open. Mine? She had to shake herself to snap back to reality. Mine? She st
ood staring and her eyes just couldn’t take enough of him in. Tentatively, she moved closer and reached out to touch his cock. It felt like hard steel but it was hot and silky when she touched it.

Bowie groaned. She went to pull back her hand but he wouldn’t let her. He grabbed her wrist and wrapped her hand around him. Then he showed her how to stroke him and she caught on quickly.

  ~* * * *~

Bowie never felt anything like this before. He’d had women and been touched by women. But this was so right, so sweet and sexy at the same time. Her hand was quick and had just the right amount of pressure and he was quickly losing control.

He leaned over, shut the water off then he scooped her up in his arms and carried her back into the bedroom. Gently tossing her onto the bed, he joined her before she stopped bouncing. His lips came down on hers and their kiss was off the charts.

She was gasping and clinging to him. Her small body was so luscious and soft. Her skin like pure silk as he nibbled down her jaw and neck. Pausing on the vein in her neck, he felt the increase in her pulse. Her scent was getting stronger the more he moved south. He spread tiny kisses across the fullness of her breasts. Her nipples were round hard buttons and he lathered them with his tongue and teeth. She moaned as he nibbled on her skin.

Moving south, he kissed her soft belly and hips. Then he hit the gold mine. Before he closed his mouth over her core, he inhaled her scent and the blended aroma almost did him in. This scent was all her. It reminded him of strawberries and vanilla with just a hint of cinnamon. It drove him crazy and before he knew it, his mouth covered her. His tongue lapped at the cream between her legs and he felt he was home.

Shayna moaned and arched her hips into his mouth, as if seeking more. “Oh god, please I need something...”

  “Something more?” he growled.

  “Yes, something more.”

“Are you ready for me?” he whispered. “I need to be inside you. I need to feel your skin surrounding me, caressing me.”

“Oh yes, please,” she begged. “Please...”

Bowie crawled up her body and kissed her. She could taste herself on his lips and then she felt him urging his way into her core. She opened her legs wider and silently begged him to give her more.
