Horatio knew half the charges they had just listed held a death sentence if he was convicted. Something told him they weren't going to settle for life sentences; Childress and his supporters were now out for blood.
Either way, John had gotten what he'd wanted. Childress had chosen his side and acted. He noted no one tried to stop the commander.
“Take him to the brig,” the commander stated. “We'll transport him to Command 1 once this ship and he have been …” he paused, “decontaminated,” he said in a snarl.

Wow! I hope that ending made up for the long journey to get there! I honestly didn't think it would run this long! See, originally HH1 was at best, a short side story or even a series of stories that hooked into the main plot. I hadn't even gotten far with it, but then the entire plot of the Reborn Federation shifted and the timeline advanced by decades.
EE was supposed to be a very different book, with an invasion, battles and all sorts of stuff. It was also supposed to have been a main line book, right after Pirate's Rage but well, as I said, things changed. I used a couple of scenes in it, but the bulk of it ended up getting deleted.
And what I thought was going to be a couple of Horatio side stories took on a life of its own as I began to write. Wow.

Galiet has multiple degrees including PHD's in hyperdrives and hyperspace physics. Both have reserve commissions.

4 industry analysts and managers -1 Baker, (neocat) former yard manager who'd lost his wife. Went to reserve status to raise their 2 kits for past 10 years. Recently returned to the fold.
2 military surgeons to help with implant tech. Tucker Jaroslaw (M) and Lee Weiss. (F) Both ensigns. Tucker assigned to VA Dover City, Weiss transferred to planet 2 VA.
1-navy JIG Pietro Olson, Horatio flag lieutenant Newly promoted to JIG. Chimera with white hair and slight muzzle. Gangly long arms and legs. Still juvenile clumsy. -with background in staff and engineering. has a limited number of keys. -KIA on station with Commander Decoure.

2 lieutenant commanders both are engineers with keys. 1 was a chief engineer. Both have keys. Alice Wallengrad, and Weaver Thistle. Weaver is a 1 meter high camo covered chimera with a thin tail who identified more with Elves. Alice resented being taken from her ship. Alice assigned to Albacore.
