“He’s there with you now, isn’t he?” Robbie asked quietly.
No way was Cole denying Everest. Not even to spare Robbie’s feelings.
“He is.”
“I could tell. Your breathing changed.” Robbie inhaled sharply, as though he were fortifying himself. “Well, I’ll let you two get back to your evening. And thank you, Cole, for taking my call. I needed to hear your voice tonight.”
“I’ll always answer if I’m able, Robbie. You know that.”
“I do,” Robbie said, his voice sounding a tad stronger with that declaration. “Good night, Cole.”
“Night, Robbie.”
Cole listened as the line went dead and then he lowered the device.
“Everything okay?” Everest asked softly.
“Yeah.” Cole nodded slowly. “I think he just needed a boost tonight and a reminder that he’s not alone in the world.”
Everest hummed and gave Cole’s cheek a tender squeeze.
“I love you, Cole. Know that’ll never change.”
Cole grinned and chuckled. “Oh, I know it.”
“Do you now?” Everest angled his head and gave Cole a heated grin full of promise.
Cole leaned in and stole a quick kiss.
“I do, Everest. I know you love me and that you’re mine. Just like I know as soon as we clear the last of these folks outta here, I’m takin’ you to bed and havin’ my way with that sinfully, beautiful body of yours.”
A light flared in Everest’s gray eyes that lit Cole up from head to toe. Made his dick start to plump up and take notice, too.
“Well then, by all means. Let’s finish up this night and see these men out of here.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
“Sounds like a plan for a lifetime, to me,” Everest countered and took a kiss of his own.
Cole hummed and wrapped his arms around Everest’s shoulders. He held him close, deepening the kiss, as he thought that it sounded like a perfect plan for their conjoined lives. Lives that were going to be filled with love, laughter, and plenty of happy moments now that they were sharing the dance together.
