Dominic's Star

  “Dominic—”

“Shut up, both of you!” The Abugendi screamed. “Sit calmly, then no one gets hurt.”

“While you do what?” Dominic asked.

“While my people surround the ship and guide it back to Damascus.”

Renard gasped. “Oh no you aren’t.”

“Oh yes, Captain.” The gunman smiled smug. “There’s a handsome sum of money for anyone who brings the rogue G-Force Captain and this Gocarian back alive and I’m taking it. Fucking Batsung wasn’t interested, but I am.”

“So, you guys knew? I knew I should’ve checked your brains before I landed.” Renard complained.

“Of course! They issued the messages over the communications system before you arrived. Batsung wouldn’t do it because the two of you are friends. But I could give a rat’s ass about you or your oversized fur coat you seem to like so much.”

“Fuck you, little rat. I’ll tear you limb from limb!” Dominic snarled, moving in the man’s direction, but Renard stopped him from making forward progress.

The Abugendi shook but stood his ground with the gun still in hand. “Don’t come any closer. I’ll shoot!”

“Try it, asshole! I’m not scared of you.” Dominic wrangled himself away from Renard and advanced on him.

“Dominic, no. We won’t fight him, okay? We’re gonna follow his orders.” I’ve run out of ideas so…”

“Fuck that, Renard!” Dominic roared, making the ship shake then tilt to his left.

“Dominic, no! Now is not the time to shift. I don’t know how much of your weight she can take.”

Again, Dominic released a loud scream, then crouched down on his legs, changing to the bear in front of their eyes.

The Abugendi shot his gun once then again.

Both pellets hit Dominic’s legs, but they only sliced his skin, barely wounding him. He roared, feeling his beast ready to strike against the quill faced enemy.

“Oh no. No!” The Abugendi took off running, but Dominic quickly grabbed it, before he could shift.

He dragged it back towards him, holding the animal within his claws.

“Don’t hurt him, Dominic! We’ll get a cage to put him in.” Renard got up from the chair.

“Fuck that, Renard! He just threatened our lives. I’ll be damned if I allow this thing to get away.”

“Killin’ him solves nothing! If you do, we got Batsung and his crew on our backs. We don’t need them, G-Force, and your people chasing us.”

“He’s right, bear! I can be of service! Maybe a bargaining chip for you to get away?” The hedgehog cried, shivering in Dominic’s hold. Apparently, he was so afraid, his quills fell from his head and body.

“Dominic, please. Just hand him over.” Renard said in a soft voice and held out his hands.

Dominic wished he didn’t feel for this gargoyle that seemed to have a bigger heart than anyone. He’d killed the Hunartheon in cold blood. Why did he feel so much sympathy for the rodent shifter? “I’m only doing it for you.” He placed the Abugendi into his hands.

When he did, the rodent pulled a blade from his side and swiped it across Renard’s face.

“Ahhh! Renard fell backwards dropping the hedgehog shifter.

“Fuck!” Dominic caught him again before he could cut him too. He clenched onto the blade with his teeth and spat it out. This time he clamped it so hard the shifter was barely able to breathe. “I told you, Renard. Never trust a fucking rat!”

Renard touched the cut on his face, then peered at him. “Dominic don’t!”

“Oh no, babe. This one isn’t gonna be spared!” Dominic continued squeezing the life out of it.

  “Let him go!”

“What the fuck, man! He just tried to kill you.” Dominic couldn’t understand why Renard fought hard for this thing even after he cut him.

“Self-defense! Let him go!” Renard griped.

Dominic didn’t, but he eased the pressure on the shifter’s body. Just then he had an idea of how he’d get rid of the hog that hurt Renard. Calmly, he walked over to the disposable hatch and pushed the button to open it.

  “No, Dominic, don’t!”

“You said to let go.” Dominic dropped the Abugendi through the hole, then closed the door. “So, I did.”

Renard stared at Dominic through brown eyes that were turning gray. He shook his head and sighed. “Goddammit, Dominic!”

“I followed your orders. You said to let em go and I did.” Dominic leaned down on the floor and changed back to human. “I’ll be damned if I’m gonna allow a little rat-faced idiot hurt you, Renard.”

  “He already did.”

“And I dropped him through that hatch so he wouldn’t do it again. Be mad all you want, all right? I did it to save us.” Dominic growled.

“From what?” Renard threw up his hands. “Now we’re in even more trouble killing an Abugendi.”

“I am, not you.” Dominic said without caring. He could give a shit what G-Force or anyone would say. He did it for him and for Renard, regardless if he appreciated it or not.

“No, I will too because again, he was under my fucking protection.” Renard laughed, and wiped the blood from under his eye. “Don’t you get it, man? Those planets are under G-Forces jurisdiction. We’re supposed to protect them from you and I let you kill him. I should arrest you.”

Dominic frowned. “Then do what you have to. I’m not stopping you.”

“Don’t try acting all tough with me now, Dominic. I’m trying to keep you out of trouble.”

“Well, it’s too late. I did what I thought was right at the time and I’d do it again to save you, okay stone face? You’ve saved me twice and I returned the favor.”

“Is this what’s bothering you, Dominic? I told you what you could do to satisfy me.”

“It’s not. I care about your fucking well-being. I just… fuck! You make me crazy, Renard! Our people aren’t supposed to trust you guys. They hate the stone faces in Gocara. And here I am risking everything because I wanna be with you. I wanna…” Dominic released a ragged breath. He wanted to punch something right now, then eat it. He was so stark raving mad. “ I just…I thought we could have something, but I guess you’re more concerned with following orders than making plans. I’m going to bed! Good fucking moon light!” Dominic turned on his heel and left the cockpit for the dormitory. He’d be damned if he’d apologize for what he knew was the right decision.

Sure, killing the rat was an issue, but if they were to survive, Dominic had to let him go. Going back with the Abugendi to Damascus was not an option for either he or Renard, especially if they were to explore the feelings occurring between them.

  Renard

Renard watched Dominic leave the front of the ship. He dropped his head and grit his teeth, feeling his gargoyle come to the surface.

  Easy, beast. Easy.

While Renard wanted to shift, now wasn’t the time. If anything, he’d wait until things were settled between him and Dominic before he turned himself to stone.

As Renard made his way to his dormitory, he thought of what just occurred. Dominic wasn’t wrong in what he did, but it would bring more heat upon him when he returned to Damascus. Maybe it truly was selfish on his part to think that way, but again, this was another reason why Renard always stayed far away from getting involved with anyone.

However, the feelings between him and Dominic had increased. The kiss they shared before the Abugendi so rudely interrupted them was the best he’d ever experienced. Renard needed that mouth on top of his like soil badly in need of water. He ached for Dominic to be close to him, but what would it cost Renard in the long run?

  His sanity?

  His clan?

The respect of his fellow G-Force members?

Renard wasn’t sure, which was why he wished to tread into this new territory cautiously. He was still in caught between untrusting and suspicious. Other than being on the run, that was no way to start a relationship.

  “Dominic?”
Renard called out to him as he strolled into the dormitory. The smells of Dominic’s body wash wafted under his nose, making him dizzy. His bear had just taken a shower before getting into bed and Renard would like nothing better than to climb under the covers with him.

  “Dominic?”

  “What is it, Captain?”

Renard sighed aloud, knowing groveling to the bear wouldn’t be an easy task. “Look, I’m sorry for yelling at you. Thanks for saving me. You were right to do what you did, but I’m concerned that the more things we do, the harder it’ll be for us to return.”

“I could care less, Renard. We’re in space with a ship, plenty of fuel and food to last us a while. We could drift on this heap for as long as we need to figure things out.”

“Will you stop calling her a heap?” Renard sat on the bed next to him.

Dominic rose and whipped the covers from over his head. “Dammit Renard, that’s what she is, all right? Goddess bless her, but she’s a heap. A very good heap, but still a heap. Anyway, that’s not important. What is concerning is how you feel about me and vice versa. We’re on the run, but before that rodent disturbed us, we shared something very special and…” Dominic dropped his head. “And I wanna explore it. I shouldn’t, but, for the first time in my life, I really want to take care of someone while they take care of me. We’ve saved each other’s lives, killing the beings that hurt us. Why shouldn’t we try to make this work?” Dominic took Renard’s hands into his.

“I’m not saying we shouldn’t, but we can’t do this without thinking of the consequences.”

“Yes, we can. We’re in deep space shit no matter how you look at it, Renard. I’m gonna get kicked out of the Messoli and you from G-Force. You said it earlier. What’s changed?”

“The bounty on our heads. We should probably go back and face our people.”

“No, we shouldn’t. That’ll be a fate worse than death. Look, we could be fucking pirates! We stop off on planets, look around, take what we need, and leave. Let’s be badass together and discover this universe.”

Renard dropped his head again, knowing he’d love that. No more answering to his father, no more negotiating with planets to come under G-Force rule. It sounded glorious but fucking irresponsible as hell. Renard’s father would have his hide whenever he got his hands on him. “Dominic.”

“Don’t tell me you don’t want that, babe. We could have everything with Baal as our guide. It’ll be great, baby!” Dominic kissed Renard’s lips quickly, meeting Renard’s gaze. Again, those gorgeous blues peered into Renard’s soul, making him lost and confused. He didn’t know how to handle it.

  “I do, I really…”

“Then let’s do this. You, me, and Baal against the big bad universe.” Dominic grinned at Renard.

Renard returned the grin, feeling uneasy. While he enjoyed pissing his father off, he had many friends and allies he’d be letting down by leaving the G-Force. Then again, this was taking chances on something new with the man he had interest in by his side. What was there on Damascus except for loneliness, his jerky ass dad, and more rules?

“Renard? Don’t tell me you’re against this. If you are, you might as well let me go in that hatch too. I’m not going back to serve time in that prison knowing what we could’ve had. My people would take issue with us kissing, let alone anything else.”

  “Meaning?”

“I’d rather you let me die then make me go back. That’s what I mean.”

Renard stared at Dominic with wide eyes. “You don’t mean that.”

“I do. I don’t want to go back to Damascus or to Gocara alone. If I’m gonna go down, I wanna do it with you at my side.”

“You won’t.” Renard slipped his hand from underneath Dominic’s and on top of it. “I… wanna do this, but we gotta be smart. When I think it’s time to go back, then we go.Understand?”

Dominic looked away, then back at Renard. “What would be our reason?”

“To finally say fuck you too our species and go it alone. Do the family thing if we like each other enough.”

Dominic smiled and jumped into Renard’s arms, wrapping both of his around Renard’s neck. “Yes! Oh Goddess, yes I want that too!”

Renard rubbed Dominic’s bare back, then separated himself from him to engulf Dominic’s lips. He cradled Dominic close to his body, allowing the shifter to pull him backwards onto the mattress. With their mouths still attached, Renard tugged at his shirt, pulling it up to his neck. He moved just enough to yank it over his head and toss it aside.

“I need you naked, Captain. Right the fuck now, your hot skin next to mine.”

“Ooh.” Renard straightened, then unzipped his slacks that were way too confining. Once he got the from his waist, he shoved them down to his knees before removing them.

“Goddess, you’re so…” Dominic whipped the cover from his body, revealing the scarred but gorgeous frame Renard had been staring at for days on end.

“Fuck you’re so hot, baby!” Renard kicked the rest of his clothes and shoes off, before lining his body up with Dominic’s. Again, he pressed his mouth on top of his tasting him thoroughly, devouring in his tongue as if it were his means to survive.

“I want you so bad, Renard. In me. Want you there, inside of me.” Dominic whispered, peppering his face with kisses.

“Are you sure, babe? You might not be ready for that. That bastard tore you up good.”

“I know, but… I’m strong, I can handle it. I like it rough anyway, hmm? No sweet stuff for this bear.” Dominic looked and sounded determined.

Renard shook his head, running his hand through his hair. “Not until you’re fully healed. You weren’t inspected by a doctor so I’m guessing you still need time on the inside. Why don’t you get in me?”

Dominic’s eyes bulged, mouth agape. “What? Are you serious?”

“Very. I haven’t been fucked in a while, and I wouldn’t mind the change at all.”

  “But, you’re a Captain.”

  “And?”

“I…” Dominic laughed and shook his head. “I just never thought a big bad stone face would take it up the ass.”

“Well, this big bad stone face wants you there. You wanna explore, so we start with each other’s bodies first.”

Dominic dragged his hand over Renard’s face, tracing his features. He nodded, smiling contently. “Okay. Whatever you want, baby. You want me to fill you. I will.”

  Chapter Ten

  Dominic

Excitement filled Dominic, knowing what was about to happen. It had been awhile since he’d penetrated anyone.

With the feelings growing so quickly between them, this moment they shared would be more special. Dominic never would’ve guessed he’d fall for a gargoyle, but Renard was different. No one had held his interest like Captain Renard and he suspected no one ever would.

“Get in me, babe!” He held out his large hands while squirming on the bed.

“I am. I can’t help but look at your cock and like what I see.” Dominic fought the urge to take it down his throat and devour Renard as if he was his last meal. He leaned in close, crushing their lips together while he positioned himself at Renard’s entrance. His own dick hard as nails, pulsated and leaking from the tip.

Although he couldn’t wait, Dominic would take his time to make sure Renard wasn’t hurting. He grabbed the oil on the bedside table and squeezed some onto his dick’s tip. “Shit, baby. I’ve never been so hard for anyone in my life.” He rubbed it in, stroking it from top to base. He gritted his teeth, trying his best to hold off his orgasm.

“Then do it.” Renard managed through hampered breaths. His brown eyes glazed over with that hint of gray in his irises. He moistened his lips. “Go slow. Make it last as long as you can.” Renard huffed.

“Oh I know.” Dominic dropped the bottle on the side of them and slowly moved forward. Renard’s skin out up little resistance then finally broke. When his cock burst through the ring, he inhaled sharply and threw his h
ead back while clutching Renard’s legs. “Goddess, Renard.” Dominic’s chest burned. He was barely able to breathe.

“Ooh fuck! Baby yes. Go further. Please. I want all of you in me now!” Renard yelled and gripped Dominic’s arms.

Dominic wished for that too, but the first contact with Renard’s skin did him in. He clenched his teeth tightly, feeling the adrenaline rush through his body, heightening his senses. His toes curled, length growing with each inch that he pushed inside Renard’s ass. Dominic looked down at him, smiling. “Oh fuck, Renard. Your ass is amazing.”

“I’ve been told it looks good in pants.” He joked, while moving vertically on Dominic’s dick. “C’mon, Dominic. Lemme feel that hard cock some more.”

“Greedy, aren’t you.” Dominic pulled Renard’s hand to his lips, licking his fingers. He sucked two of them into his mouth, mimicking his own motions while pressing his cock in further.

“Ooh, ooh shit!” Renard grimaced and roughly grabbed Dominic’s shoulder. His chest rose and fell as he blew out labored breaths.

“Am I hurting you?” Dominic abruptly stopped his forward progress. He lightly kissed his fingers. “If it’s too much—"

“It does, but I don’t want you to stop. Like I said, it’s been a long time. Don’t worry, I can take it. I need you here, in my ass!” Renard started moving on his dick again.

“OOhkay. I’m glad because honestly, I don’t want to. I love feeling your skin around me.” Dominic let go of his leg and grabbed the lube again. He pulled out enough to add more slick, before sliding into the gargoyle once more. “If you need to hurt me back to fend off the pain, then do it. I can handle it.” Dominic kissed his hand again.

“Ooh fuck, right there, babe. Shit, shit!” Renard yelled while slapping Dominic’s shoulder and chest. “Feels so good. You’re doing it right.”

Dominic smiled and continued to watch his lover move in the same rhythm as him. He moistened his lips, then toyed with Renard’s fingers using his tongue again. His beast rose to the surface, but Dominic closed his eyes, making his bear stay away.
