“And you. You jumped into the water like She-rah to help me. You showed no fear.”

  “I did, didn’t I?”

  “Mmhmm. You were amazing.”

Sunny blessed him with a smile, and then winced. Her face felt like she’d been hit by a truck. Her bruises wouldn’t be pretty.

“When you're set to go, we're wanted at the police station.”

“I'll have you out of here in a few minutes,” the doctor said as he applied the bandage over Hayden's injury. “I'll get your discharge papers and you can be on your way.”

The doctor left them alone. The room was too quiet. She really hated hospitals. The smell of antiseptic. The white and steel rooms. All the wires and the machines.

“Hey. I'm fine. Thank Jesus you're fine. I don't know if I'd survive losing you again.” He captured her mouth in a deep kiss. Sunny sighed into him. She was a lucky woman.

An hour later, Sunny and Hayden arrived at the police station. Detective Stafford met them at the front desk, managing to shuffle them into his office three doors down the hall.

  “How's the shoulder?”

Hayden smirked, rolling his shoulder a bit to test the pain. “I'll manage.”

  “And the foot?”

  “The same.”

“Glad to hear it.” Stafford was all business. “I was just about to start interviewing Charyn Bliss. You can watch in the viewing room if you're interested.”

“I'd love to hear what she has to say.” Sunny, who'd remained silent since they'd arrived, spoke up.

The detective ushered them to another room in the station not far from his office. On the other side of the one-way mirror, Charyn sat with one wrist handcuffed to a metal table set in the middle of the room. A video camera in the corner near the ceiling projected her image onto a screen in the room where she and Hayden stood.

They watched Stafford enter the room and take a seat across from Charyn. The seething woman ignored him and glared at the camera.

He cleared his throat. “How do you know Hayden Wagner?”

Charyn swung her eyes to the detective. “We dated. Briefly.”

“Mr. Wagner denies that you two had a relationship.”

“I didn't say we had a relationship,” she made air quotes with her fingers. “I said we dated briefly.”

Stafford referred to his notepad, flipping the pages back and forth. “At no time, did Mr. Wagner admit to that.”

Charyn scoffed. “Of course he denied it.”

“How'd you get onto the property?”

“The beach isn’t completely private. The front gate is manned, but the rest of the grounds are easy enough to get on if you have the time and patience.” Charyn made a show of examining her fingernail polish. “I even broke a nail in the process. See?” She held up her middle finger to the detective. “It bled and everything.”

Stafford ignored her attempt at distraction. “What were your plans once you made contact?”

Charyn sighed. “Simple really. I was going to show Hayden how we were the perfect match. That we were meant to be together. But once I looked in the house, that bitch was there. Sleeping in his bed. He's not supposed to be with her!” she spat.

“I've heard enough. I'll be out in the hall.” Sunny spun and walked out of the room.

Hayden followed, close on her heels.

Hayden reached for Sunny when he caught up to her. She remained quiet as he wrapped his arms around her and he wondered what was going through that pretty little head of hers.

  “You okay?” he asked.

She nodded. “I just can't believe it was something so simple. The age-old adage of envy and revenge. How stupid. She must've been really hurt, Hayden.”

He shrugged. “Maybe. I never saw her when she was sent away. Anna always dealt with that shit.”

The detective joined them. “She's pissed at you.” He glanced at Hayden and then at Sunny. “But she despises you. She feels burnt and rejected and is jealous of what you and Hayden have going on. She's been charged with breaking and entering, assault with a deadly weapon and whatever else the prosecutor feels necessary once she reviews the case. Bail was denied, so you don't have anything to worry about. It's a good thing you're not practicing those antics anymore, Hayden. And you're really lucky that nothing worse happened.” He walked away, leaving them in the hall to see themselves out.

Hayden whistled low. “I'm sorry.” He kissed her forehead and with a warm hand at the small of her back, led her toward the exit.

Outside, a small crowd of photographers and media greeted them. Reporters hollered to Hayden as he shoved through the crowd, hands up to block the tirade. He managed to push Sunny through the press of people and get her into the waiting car. He ignored them as he slid in behind her. The media swarmed the vehicle, not parting even when the driver started to ease forward. He glanced over at a pale Sunny.

  “You doing okay?”

  “Is it always like this?”

“Only when something bad happens. They only report on crap. It'd be great for them to concentrate on the good shit once in a while.” He kissed her hand as the car slowly crept out of the parking space, waiting for the sea of reporters to part.

On the open road, he breathed a sigh of relief. “I love you, Sunny Burns.”

“I love you, Hayden Wagner, crazy fans and all.”

His heart filled with pride. He couldn't hide his smile. “Let's go home.”

  The Scoop by Jules Sunny

HAYDEN WAGNER IS BACK ON TOP!

Good morning, my lovelies! I bet you didn't expect to hear back from me after my little vacation of non-blogging. Well, good things come to those who wait, and those who admit who they truly are. :) So after the fiasco Hayden went through with a crazed fan, everything has been cleared up. Hayden's movie offers are booming and he's back working on a couple of projects that had been put on hold. He's quick becoming one of the most sought after actors and his next two years are already booked with movies and appearances. We'll be seeing a lot of our favorite Hollywood Hottie and you can come right back here for all the latest and greatest news and pics before you find them anywhere else.

That's right, Hayden has personally given me his permission to open the blog back up and report on all things Hayden. You'll get back-stage news, photos and general happenings of Hayden around the world, on set, at photo shoots, interviews. You name it and I'll be covering it exclusively. Stay tuned, I've got some awesome things to share with you in the near future.

  Until next time,

  Sparkly Dreams!

Sunny smiled as she hit the publish button on her blog. If someone had told her a few months ago that she and Hayden would be back together she would've thrown them out of her house. She couldn't have imagined this turning out better in her wildest dreams. She closed the lid to her laptop and got up and stretched. Hayden was still sleeping. A few custom orders had come in that Sunny would need to complete, but they could wait until later. She was going to have Marlene ship her supplies here so Sunny would have them with her while she accompanied Hayden on his next location.

Which just happened to be Hawaii. What a beautiful landscape for Sunny to create her art. She might even give her travel writing a go again. There would lots of gorgeous places to visit while they were there.

Sunny slipped in quietly beside him and reached for him. Hayden surprised her when he growled and quickly tucked her body under him, assaulting her mouth with his. She moaned. This was her dream. She'd finally got her second chance with Hayden, and she wasn't going to let him get away again.
