“I’m coming out now,” I said. I pulled on a light spring dress over my new-found curves and exited the bathroom.

Huck’s eyes brightened as he touched my stomach and kissed me. His mouth covered mine in such a passionate embrace, that I felt like starting my morning over again in bed.

“Huck, we can’t,” I said. “She’s coming today.”

My sister was flying down on a real-live jet piloted by a real-live pilot. Once I had answered the phone, we found out that she had the same virus I had. It ran in families. There were more of us, like the girl in Los Angeles. Huck had made contact with the West Coast and they told him about a girl named Mira, short for Miracle. She, too, had the virus, only not as strong as mine.

There were others, one in Portland and another in Mexico and rumors of even more. In a few short months, we had networked with all of them and in a few more months, there would be a cure if Rachel had anything to do with it. We were all safe in Haverlyn Village and saved from the zero apocalypse, but a little voice told me we still weren’t safe from ourselves.

Meet Hella Paige. She kills zombies. Well, technically her virus kills zombies, the one that she contracted after being bitten by her undead neighbor. The virus is invaluable, killing everything undead that comes within a thousand feet of where she stands. But it is also destructive, unless Hella can escape the truth, she might be doomed to a terrible fate.

All Hella wanted to do was graduate from college, but she is thrust into a world she never imagined, one filled with moments of sheer terror and the idea that humanity can be saved by a few. She brings together a tribe of survivors, keeping her virus a secret; instead claiming the village they live in is protected by a mysterious zombie-killing aura. Hella has to sacrifice so much for the people she grows to love, for she can’t leave the village without risking their death.

When Hella meets Huck, he captures her heart, but it is his friend Zeke that can help her save humankind. Two heroic men, one she hates and one she loves. Can Hella rise above the chaos of her heart and chose the one to benefit the world? The right choice might mean the difference between surviving and survival of the species.

Meet Hella Paige. She kills zombies. Well, technically her virus kills zombies, the one that she contracted after being bitten by her undead neighbor. In the much anticipated sequel to POCKETS OF THE DEAD, Hella overcomes her fear and controlling nature to battle both living and undead foes.   While Huck captured her heart in love at first sight, she now questions those feelings as she’s thrust into the action with Zeke. Having Zeke by her side, the strongest fighter on her team, makes her feel invincible. Will Hella be able to escape the clutches of Mace Duce or will she be turned into another experiment in his reprehensible lab?
