"And the Lord of High Explosives did say to his follower the Sapper," Jack intoned, "P is equal to D squared over fifty, and when thou are in doubt, P is plenty."

"What nonsense are you spouting you pathetic worm?" the Hand of God snarled.

Jack smiled broader and held up the initiator in his hand, brandishing it like a holy symbol. "And the Sapper, counting his blessings, said unto his followers... 'Fire in the Hole!'"

Jack tugged the pin and heard the sharp pistol-crack of the shock tube igniting. A heartbeat later, the det cord went, like living lightning that spread out in a woven bit of artwork. The C4 charges that it triggered had been spread around the former church just after dawn, when Jack figured the undead monster would be the least alert.

The detonation was thunderous and the charges placed in and around the doorway didn't shatter the Hand of God... they shredded him into a fine mist, even as the rest of the charges dropped the entire Basilica in a slow, ponderous fall that turned the desecrated church into a pile of rubble.

As the dust settled and the last few walls fell inwards, Jack tossed the initiator to the ground and turned around. He raised a hand, "Can I get an amen, brothers and sisters!?"
