She crawled out of bed, pinned her hair up and tried to look her best after two cups of coffee. When she reached her office, Tristan was already in there, sitting at her desk and going through one of her files.
“Good morning,” she said looking at her cell phone clock. She felt he was violating her personal space, but he was the boss so she let it go. She set her bag on the edge of the desk and sipped her coffee.
“Morning, Megan.” He continued to go through the file and he didn’t look pleased.
“Is there something wrong?”
“Nope.” He closed the file and stood up, putting it under his arm and crossing his arms. “I trust that your weekend went well.”
“It did, thank you for asking.” She was still on edge with him. Something was off about his attitude and she didn’t know what to make of it so she didn’t offer any more information that she needed to.
When he finally looked at her, his eyes grazed her entire body and stopped at her legs. “Wow. You look amazing.”
“Thank you.” She looked away, feeling awkward.
“Sunshine is very good to you. It looks like your body was beautifully kissed by the sun.” She didn’t respond. “Where did you go?”
“The Maldives. A group of islands in the Indian Ocean.”
He nodded, impressed at Jensen’s selection. “Very nice. I didn’t think the old boy had it in him.” He stood up and walked around her desk, stopping next to her. He didn’t take his eyes off her. He reached up and put his hands on her arms, sliding them up and down her skin. “Soft.” He reached up and pulled the hair clip from her hair and let it cascade down over her shoulders. She quickly turned and looked at him. He ran his fingers through her hair as his lips parted. “Hair is so sexy, glossy, shiny.”
She stepped back away from him, the awkward feeling turning to a bit of fear. “Tristan, I don’t think we should be….”
“I know, I’m sorry.” He put his hands up in surrender. “I just, I’ve missed you. I guess I have a bit of a soft spot for you in this heart of mine.”
She forced a smile and turned away, putting her hair back up and securing it with a pencil from her desk. Tristan didn’t move from where he stood as he watched her walk around to the other side and sit down in her chair. She turned her computer screen on and pretended to get right in to her work, hoping he would get the hint and leave. He hesitated, but finally left her office. She took a deep breath and looked at her door. Was Tristan jealous that she was back with Jensen? Could she trust him to keep a professional mannerism when they were together? She began to think that maybe working for Tristan while being with Jensen wasn’t such a good idea.
I’ll wait it out and see what the week brings, she thought.
Chapter 7
“Ready?” Megan walked out of her bedroom with her gym bag and looked at Lorena.
“So ready. I think I ate enough for an army this weekend.” Lorena picked up her gym bag and they walked out of their apartment together headed toward Jensen’s building. They were determined to take advantage of their free membership to the private gym.
They hit the gym and worked up a sweat over the course of the hour. Just when they were finishing up, Lorena smiled. “Hey!”
“What?” Megan asked, looking in the direction Lorena was looking in.
“Look who just walked in.”
Jensen strolled toward them, his eyes set on Megan. Her heart leaped and she grabbed her towel.
“Hey gorgeous,” he said, leaning up against the elliptical machine next to Megan.
“Jensen,” she said, wiping the perspiration from her face. “What brings you here?”
“Thought I would get a small workout in before it got too late.”
“Hey, Jensen,” Lorena called out flirtatiously.
“Hello again. You are looking well.”
“Thank you.”
“Are you going to be here a while?”
“Yes,” Lorena spat.
“Actually,” Megan looked at her, “we were just finishing up.”
“Ah. Shame.” He wondered why Megan was playing the not-so-interested card. He hoped she wasn’t still worried about Kristina. He had to do something about that woman and fast, before she ruined what he had worked so hard to build with Megan.
He leaned toward her. “Have dinner with me.”
She looked up at him and smiled. “Okay.”
“Both of you. I have a little surprise for you both.”
“You do?” Lorena asked, her eyes lighting up.
“What about your workout?” Megan asked.
“I’ll get a quick one in now and meet you back to my place in half an hour?”
Megan nodded, still looking uninterested.
“Can’t wait,” he said as they got up and walked away.
Lorena looked back before they walked out and smiled at him.
“You are such a flirt,” Megan said, teasing her.
“Just keeping my options open. You never know. Maybe he has a hot friend who is single and likes Latinas.”
They went into the locker rooms, got a quick shower and primped in front of the mirrors for the full half hour. By the time they got to Jensen’s, he had already prepared dinner and had it on the table.
“That has to be the quickest work out I have ever seen.” Megan walked into his living room and set her things on his couch.
“I actually skipped it and decided to devote my full attention to two very beautiful women instead. Come, sit. Eat.”
They all sat down and dined over shrimp bucatini and white wine.
“So, Megan,” he said. “How is work going?” She sensed a bit of defensiveness in his voice, as if he was giving so much more than mere idol conversation.
“It’s going well. I caught up quickly on my work load and it’s… going well,” she repeated, avoiding his gaze. Did he sense the hostility she felt because of Tristan’s forward antics since she has been back? She didn’t want to bring it up. She didn’t need the added problems it would cause between them.
“No problems or issues with anything?”
“Nope,” she said, too chipper. “Not at all. How are things going with you since we got back?” She stuffed a fork full of pasta into her mouth.
“Could be better, but I can’t seem to find help with things around here.”
“Yeah, I see that it is getting quite out of hand. You should really hire a house keeper.”
“Cute,” he said.
She winked and took a drink of her wine.
“So, what is the surprise?” asked Lorena. She was acting like a child and it was quite endearing. Jensen laughed and Megan smiled. He got up and went into his office, returning moments later with two tickets in his hand. Lorena’s eyes were glued to them. He handed them to her and sat back down, watching her face. Lorena squealed with delight as she read them. “Are you kidding?”
“What are they?” Megan asked, leaning toward her.
“Two tickets to London Fashion Week!”
“Awe, Jensen you didn’t have to do that.” She took one of them and read it, her eyes growing wider. “Luxe tickets?”
“Oh, yeah,” he said as if it was an afterthought.
“How the hell did you get these? They are impossible to get, especially this close to the show.”
“I know a guy.” His grin was deviously delicious and Megan couldn’t help but to love it.
“Wait,” said Lorena. “Aren’t luxe tickets really expensive?”
“It’s not really….”
“£150 each,” Megan interrupted.
“Jensen!”
“It’s really no big deal. I wanted you to experience something you were passionate about. That’s all. Everyone deserves that at least once in their lives.”
“Oh, I could hug you!” She stared at the ticket and marveled at the words it read. Megan watched Jensen enjoy Lorena’s reaction. This was what he loved.
“We have to get back.” Lorena said after she finished her
dinner.
“Why the rush?”
“I am going to design my own outfit for the show! This could be my big chance to get noticed. I have to design it, buy the material and put it all together.” She got up and hugged Jensen.
“I’m going to stick around and help clean up a little. Catch you at home?”
“Okay!” She grabbed her bag and sprinted toward the door. “Thank you again!”
She disappeared out the door leaving Jensen and Megan looking after her.
“Well, you just made one Latina very happy,” she said, turning back toward him.
His eyes were fixed on hers. “I miss you.”
“It’s only Monday. You just saw me yesterday.”
“I still miss you.”
Megan’s stomach tightened and her heart beat a little harder. “I know,” she said meekly. She picked up her wine and drank the rest down as Jensen stood and walked around the table toward her. He took her hands and pulled her up away from the table, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into him. She rested her head on his chest and they just stood there.
Something was troubling him. She pulled back away and looked at him. “What is it?”
“What do you mean?”
“Something is bothering you.”
“I am just enjoying every moment I have with you.” He tilted her head up and inched toward her until his lips were pressed against hers. He deepened his kiss as his arms pulled her into him. Megan lost her breath and melted into him.
“I can never get enough of this,” she said when he finally broke away from her.
“Then don’t.” His words were so soft yet controlling.
“What?”
“Stay with me. Come back and live here. That housekeeping position is still open.”
“I can tell.” She looked around at the clothes draped over the backs of chairs and the paperwork stacked on side tables.
“I have to admit, my other place looks much worse.”
“You definitely need help,” she teased.
“Then help me. Come back to work for me.” He was pleading with her more than he was offering.
“I don’t know. I still have a lot to sort out. I sort of like my independence.”
“I can’t hold the position open much longer. I will need to hire someone else if you make me wait much longer.”
She nodded and turned away, picking up some of the dinner dishes from the table. Thoughts of another woman, young, attractive working for him, living with him, being subject to his charm and his allure seeped into her mind. She saw how Lorena looked at him. She hated how Kristina stalked him. She knew if she said no to his offer, he would replace her with someone else. But how far he would replace her, she didn’t dare think about.
He smiled at her and kissed her forehead. “I am going to grab a quick shower.” She nodded and let him walk away from her. Her stomach felt uneasy.
She started to clean up to keep her mind off it but she knew she was going to have to make a decision, and soon. It would affect her entire life. As she finished up the dishes, she gathered his clothes that were draped over random furniture.
“Does this mean you are taking the job?”
Megan spun around, her thoughts completely engulfed in the decisions that lay before her. Jensen stood in the doorway of the bathroom in just a towel, his skin still wet from his shower. She dropped his clothes onto the floor and just stood there. Her eyes took him in and devoured him. Her thoughts fled and all she could think about was touching him. She walked to him, her arms to her side and her eyes on a small trickle of water that fled down his chest to the small of his waist. It absorbed itself into the knot of his towel. She wanted to dive for it, to lap it up and taste what it had tasted before losing its existence forever.
“Come here,” he growled. His voice was low, sending a wave of goosebumps across her skin. She raised her hand to touch his chest, smearing the water across his skin. He grabbed hold of her and picked her up, wrapping her legs around his waist. The water absorbed into her clothes as he pressed into her, holding her against the wall. He kissed her hard, his tongue penetrating through her open lips and invading her mouth. She gasped, a heat rising quickly from her deepest parts and grabbing hold of everything within her. His body held her up against the wall and his hands worked on her clothes, peeling them from her and discarding them on the floor beside them. She tugged at his towel below her but couldn’t break it free. She kissed him deeper and fed her fingers into his hair, grabbing hold as the fire grabbed hold of her. He walked into his bedroom and dropped her on his bed. She looked up at him and saw his towel gone from his body, his cock raging hard and pulsing.
She wanted him inside her. She wanted to hold on to him, to crawl inside him and curl up forever. But she forced herself to lay there and let him come to her. Which he did, very quickly and forcefully. He pounced on her, taking her pants and panties from her then pinning her underneath him. She found it hard to breathe knowing he was going to fuck her.
He grazed his teeth against the tender skin on her neck causing her to squirm. He bit down on the side of her breast causing her to arch her back and crave more of him. He slammed her arms up above her head and pinned her wrists to the bed, hovering over her, breathing heavily before crushing her with his body.
She felt his cock graze her skin and she opened her legs wider. Was he teasing her?
“Please,” she breathed.
“Please what, Megan?” His voice was strong and dominating.
“Please stop teasing me. Make love to me. I need you inside me.” She grabbed at his ass and tried to pull him into her.
“Like you tease me?”
“What?” Her eyes were half closed with lust and desire.
“I need you in my life. I need you here, always. Not just some of the time.” He kissed her hard. She was on the verge of tears between her demand for him to love her and her need to be with him. She battled between what she thought was right for her and what she craved.
When he came down on her and penetrated her, she cried out as tears fell from her eyes. He grabbed her and held her close, not moving, hardly breathing, just hanging on.
He slowly moved his hips back and forth, controlling every movement and measuring the time it took to slide all the way in then pull all the way out. His breathing was labored and his touch was electric… and he was driving her insane. She wanted to roll him over and fuck him hard and fast with everything she had, but she was in no position to be able to throw him around. He was getting to her on a level she never knew existed and she felt extremely vulnerable and exposed.
He tortured her with his long slow fuck and destroyed any barrier she had built between them. When he felt her body release with her orgasm, he filled her with his own and gently caressed her until she stopped crying. She slept soundly, wrapped tightly in his arms.
She woke up quickly and sat up, looking around. The woman bathing with Jensen in his big tub as she washed his chest wore a maid uniform with Megan scribbled off it and Kristina written in blood red ink underneath it. She looked around quickly, realizing it was all just a bad dream. She looked over and saw Jensen sleeping on his stomach, so soundly and peacefully.
“What are you doing to me?” she asked quietly.
The rest of the night crawled on from hour to hour as she tossed and turned thinking about everything in her life. Why was she staying with Crawford Advertising? Jensen was everything she needed in her life. Was she that frightened to commit to him? All she could think about was some other woman much like her, taking care of Jensen and it killed her to let that happen. But was she ready to give everything up and let him control her entire life?
Chapter 8
“Hey, sleepy head.” Jensen was sitting on the side of the bed, leaning down toward her and whispering lightly in her ear. “As much as I would love to keep you here and all to myself, it is getting rather late.” He fed his fingers through her hair as it cascaded across her pillow.
r /> Megan stretched and rolled over, finding it difficult to open her eyes. It felt like she just got to sleep again. “What time is it?”
“Seven.”
Megan gasped. “Oh, God.” She quickly sat up and pulled the covers off her, running to the bathroom. “I have to get home.”
“Just get ready and leave from here.”
“My case with all of my files are at my place.” She stopped and turned around quickly. “I know! Where is my phone? I’ll text Lorena. She will bring it to the office for me.”
She picked up her phone and sat on the edge of the bed. She texted Lorena as Jensen pulled her hair from her neck and kissed her there. She crouched down and away from him, smiling before scolding him. “Keep that up and I’ll miss the whole morning.”
“I don’t mind.”
She pushed him away playfully then finished her text. She jumped up and kissed him tenderly. “There will be plenty of time for that later.” She hesitated, looking into his eyes and soaking him in before dashing back into the bathroom to get showered and ready for her day.
“I’m going to make you breakfast!” Jensen called out as he left toward the kitchen.
“I don’t have time for breakfast! I’m going to be lucky if I make it to work on time as it is!”
Jensen ignored her and went into the kitchen.
When she came out from his bathroom and was gathering her things, he was waiting by the front door like a stay at home house wife with a paper bag held out for her to grab on her way out.
“What is this?” she asked, smiling.
“A lightly toasted bagel with ham and cream cheese to go.” She stopped and looked at him as he held it out for her.
“You are just too sweet.” He closed his eyes and smiled a goofy smile. “Thank you, Jensen.”
“Have a wonderful day at the office, dear.” He kissed her cheek and opened the door for her. She giggled and kissed him before walking out toward Black who was waiting to drive her to work.
The ride to work was quiet and uneventful and when Black pulled up to the front of the Crawford Advertising building, Megan didn’t hesitate to get out and run inside, barely making it into her office by eight.
