“Oh yes, Hooper, very worried.”
My face and smile turn grim as I lean into the wind, my hard eyes focused directly ahead. “Then, for now, that’s good enough for me—but just wait until tomorrow!”

Author’s Note
Thank you so much for reading Wings of Fire, book seven of my Legend of Hooper’s Dragons series and no, the story doesn’t end there. The story continues in book eight which I hope to publish by May 2018.
Sometimes, it seems that the easiest thing in life is to turn away from challenges instead of rising to meet them. How easy it would be for Hooper decline the call to become the leader of the Company of the Golden Dragon.
How deeply he feels his own inadequacies, his shortcomings and failings. Yet, he steps forward and accepts the acclamation from the company that he is now the company’s captain. He knows there is little, if any, reward in the call, in fact, his deepest instincts tell him that his lot will be more heartbreak than heart soaring.
Why? I’ll let you, dear reader, pose that question to yourself and discover the answer on your own and maybe you’ll gain some insight into your own soul.
Again, thank you for reading my story and if you’d like to share your thoughts about this novel, or the upcoming books in the series, feel free to email me at garyj.darby@gmail.com. I’m also on Facebook. I’d love to hear from you either way.
