“I like being on top, at least this time.” Her hands moved over his chest and she grinned. “I really love being able to have a little control.” Leaning down, she let her lips brush over his. “So tell me, what do you think of this new position?”

A growl came from him, his hands sliding up to her breasts. Michael’s fingers, the tips roughened, played with her tight nipples. “As long as I can touch you” his voice was a mere rumble. “I don’t care where you are or how I take you.”

“Good,” she told him with a smile and moved so that she could brace herself on him. She lifted and lowered herself onto his body, and both of them moaned. Her nails bit into his chest, her pleasure sure, and with only a slight adjustment, she began to ride him happily.

Michael’s hands slid down to her waist, not to stop her, just to touch her. His eyes were locked on hers as she moved. Her pace was slow, leisurely, as she enjoyed her time on top. “Beautiful,” he whispered with a small smile. A definite compliment, a rare thing from Michael.

That brought a smile to Rissa’s lips. “Glad you think so.” She moved on him, rubbing her clit against the hard ridge of his cock, and shuddered. “Because I really, really love being right here and giving us both pleasure as you typically give us.”

His lips curled up into more of a smile. “I happen to love having you right where you are. Or under me, beside me, and pretty much anywhere that I can have my cock inside of you. I suppose I’m not overly picky when it comes to you, my love.”

“Exactly. Neither am I. As long as I can have you inside of me, as long as I am able to have you making love with me. That is something that I will never, ever get tired of.” Him, Gabriel, and Raphael. She needed and wanted them to make love with her always.

He sat up under her, his lips brushing hers as his hands cupped her ass. “Good,” he breathed out. Then he kissed her, his hands lifting and lowering her on his cock, his mouth teasing her own, his tongue stroking deep and his teeth nipping just right.

“Yes, right there,” she whimpered. “That feels so very damn good,” she told him and moved faster, harder on him. This was what she needed. She needed him. She wanted him. This was the utter and complete perfection that she had been looking for inside of him.

“I love you, Rissa,” he whispered next to her ear. “Never change who you are, Princess. You are completely and absolutely perfect as you are.” His lips brushed over her throat, and then a small kiss of his teeth on her shoulder.

“Never planning on it,” she told him and shivered. “I love it when you do that.” His teeth were on her shoulder, his mouth brushing over the mating marks that he had put there. “Do it again,” she begged and moved with a little less finesse.

“Here?” he asked, his teeth scraping over the mark. She gave a moan. “I’ll take that as a yes.” He laughed, his chest moving against her nipples, his breath puffing over her skin. Then his teeth moved again, harder, not hurting, but so much better.

“Oh God yes,” Rissa cried out. “That feels so very good.” She sobbed. “I love when you do that. When your mouth and teeth move over the marks that you placed on me. I love it. So very much.” Another moan slipped from her mouth when his hands once more went to her breasts and began to tease them.

“Move faster,” he said against her skin, the words slightly muffled. His fingers found her nipples, twisting and pinching, rolling and plucking. His mouth didn’t leave her shoulder, his teeth finding purchase and holding her to him.

She did just that. She began to move harder and faster on him. She began to shake as she moved. Her movements began to become more erratic, and she clenched her teeth tightly together. “Please,” she begged.

Pressing his teeth in harder, Michael gave a growl. It reverberated through her entire body. His hands moved to her hips, tightened, and slammed her down on his cock. He exploded inside of her, his seed a hot splash inside her pussy as his growl turned into a snarl.

Rissa came right along with him. Her body clutched him tightly against her womb, and shudders radiated around her entire being.

Slowly, ever so slowly, they fell over onto their sides with a mutual groan. Michael’s arms found their way around her and pulled her in close, his heavy breathing causing her hair to flutter over her cheek as they both fought to regain their breath.

“That was amazing,” she whispered and curled up close to him. Her eyes were closed, and a yawn escaped her before she whispered, “I think I need a nap now, though, if you don’t mind. Rest with me?”

“Not going anywhere at all Princess,” he whispered. The blankets were drawn up, his arm back around her. He held her to him, his heart under her ear and, slowly, gently, she fell asleep.

  Chapter Seventeen

“You doing okay, Rissa?” Gabriel asked her again. “Do you need anything, water, a snack, a way out of the palace?” He was grinning when he asked that last part. Good thing, too. It was her wedding day and she wasn’t going anywhere, despite Gabriel and his little pokes about her running away before the ceremony.

“I think I’m going to pass out,” she whispered honestly. “There are so many people.” She looked out over the sea of people again and felt her heart rate doubling. “And I don’t know if I can walk out there with all of those people. If it was just us, I would be right there, but there are so, so many people, Gabe.” She was panicking, pure and simple.

“Hey.” His hand on her arm, he pulled her from the doors. Walking her to a chair, he fluffed out her gown and then pushed her down to sit. “We’ll be with you the entire way. Raph is keeping Michael calm, and here I am to keep you calm. Once you see Michael, love, you won’t even see the rest of these people. Not a single one of them. Just focus on Michael, as he’ll be focused on you. So, take some deep, slow breaths and I’m going to go and find you some water. Don’t move an inch, just sit and think about seeing Michael all spiffied up in his suit.”

Nodding, she looked up at him and licked her lips. “Thank you,” she whispered quietly to him. “Please, just…yes, it will be very good. A drink of water please?” She was starting to pant. She was beginning to panic more than a little and it was not a good thing.

“Rissa.” He cupped her face and smiled. “You are beautiful, Princess. You truly look like a Princess, and Michael will swallow his tongue when he sees you. I can already see it now, his eyes going wide, his mouth falling open, and Raphael there grinning. Raph will reach over, finger under his chin, and snap his mouth shut. Michael will growl, and Raphael will snicker, and then you’ll be getting married.” Gabriel leaned in and kissed her gently. “Slow breaths, little mate. I won’t be but a moment.”

She could only nod and smiled weakly. “I really hope that you are right,” she whispered softly. “Please go and get me a drink. I really and truly do want to be able to get married, so please remind Michael and Raph that I love them, too?”

“Babe, even with this mess”—he waved a hand behind him—“they know you love them. Though Michael may require some extra tending. He’s been getting propositions all afternoon, and he has no idea what to do with it all. Especially since he’s the groom and should be the one male safe.” Winking, he got up and headed for the door. “Slow breath,” he said again before he slipped through.

Rissa laughed and shook her head. After she was left alone, she sighed. Closing her eyes, she leaned her head back. “Momma, Daddy, I know that you can hear me. I know you are watching over me even now. I love him, so very much, so please get me through this without me being ill all over his shoes?”

“Oh, you won’t need to worry about that, Princess,” a familiar voice said. “You won’t live long enough to worry about anything ever again.” Something cold and heavy pressed against her shoulder. The sharp edge told her it was a blade, a very sharp blade.

Rissa rose with the blade to her shoulder. “Why?” She whispered the singular word to a man that none of them had suspicions about. None of them. “Why are you doing this? You have an amazing life here as
a part of this family. Why?” She had to keep him talking, needed him to talk in hopes that soon Gabe would be back.

“Because you have no right to sit the throne. It’s mine. If only my dearest father hadn’t been a fucking coward and claimed me as he should have,” he hissed. “And Gabriel is going to be otherwise occupied for a while. So no rescue shall be tearing through the door at the last moment.”

She couldn’t believe it. Didn’t want to believe it. “You are one of grandfather’s bastards.” She had always wondered how the man could look so much like her father, how he had some of the same mannerisms as her beloved grandfather, but now she knew. “That means that you are…” God, he was part wolf. “I can’t believe that you are doing this. Not just to me, your family, but to pack as well.”

“The pack has never done anything for me but shun me.” He shifted the blade, moving it so it slid ever so slightly over her throat. Not enough to cut, but a warning to be sure. “He abandoned me to the pack because of that bitch he claimed to love. Left me to fend for myself, living off scraps and what I could steal. I made a promise the first day I was beaten for being of mixed blood. I would see all of his line fall until I could claim the throne as rightful heir. So, dearest niece”—he smiled—“you must die.”

“They won’t let you. Even if I die, the throne goes to Michael. It’s already been legalized. Before the wedding. Two days ago, to be exact. Killing me will only end up with you being hunted. And they will. They will not eat, sleep, or drink until they find you and tear you limb from limb.” She knew her men well. She wouldn’t beg, though. If this asshole thought she would beg, he had the wrong Princess. Period.

“You lie,” he hissed, the blade pressing closer now. “You can’t pass him the throne without him being wed to you. It’s the law.”

“It was the law,” Michael said from behind him. His own blade was at the man’s neck, the tip under his jawbone and drawing blood. “She and I were betrothed, same thing as being married under the eyes of the law. Drop the blade,” he said as Raphael moved up behind Rissa. He put his hands on her arms and drew her straight back.

Rissa turned into Raphael’s arms when she was free. Shaking, she wrapped her arms around him tightly so that he could help steady her and her shaky nerves. Taking a breath, she turned to her “uncle” and with tears in her eyes whispered, “This wedding today is for the people. Michael and I have been wed for two days now. The priests have all of the paperwork. All of this, you have such hate inside of you for no reason. If you had only spoken up or come to Michael or myself, your life would have been drastically different from what it will be.” She looked to Michael and nodded. “Do as you wish to him, just please don’t get blood on your clothing?” A small smile with the joke she gave.

Plucking the sword from the man’s hand, Michael looked to her. “Are you all right?” he asked quietly. At her nod he growled, his eyes turning to the man. “Had I not heard for myself the fact you have broken from your pack, this would have meant war. As it is, Victor, you will pay for your crimes against the crown. Attempted murder of the Princess and the murder of her parents. Gabriel,” he called out, the other man stepping into the room. “Take him to the dungeons, strip him, and bind him in the furthest cell. Place four guards down there. Close enough to ensure he remains, but far enough they can ignore him.”

“Done and done.” Gabriel grabbed Victor’s arm and tugged him out of the room.

Michael moved to her then, his sword passed over to a guard, and she was in his arms. “Are you sure you are all right, little mate?”

As soon as Michael’s large arms engulfed her, Rissa nodded, tears rolling down her face. “Yes,” she whispered with a small sob. “Now I am. What if you hadn’t come?” she whispered sorrowfully. “How did you know?” she asked then and clenched him tighter with her arms. Her fear was so thick it seemed to coat all of them left in the room.

“I felt your fear,” he said softly into her hair. “Don’t ask me how, but I knew you were in danger. So I came and heard what he was about. I’m sorry I didn’t intervene sooner, but I had to know. Forgive me?” he asked, his arms tightening.

“There is nothing to forgive. I knew that you would come. I knew that if you didn’t, you would still find him.” She had complete faith in Michael, always had and always would. “And now he will be held accountable for all of his crimes, including the death of my parents. That is very, very good. I’m very glad that he’s gone. I just hate that he didn’t come to us first. We would have found a way, a peace, wouldn’t we?”

“Had he come to us before striking out at his kin, absolutely. But he didn’t consider it and killed your parents. Then he went after you.” His arms tightened more. “For that alone he will suffer for his sins.” He heaved a breath and loosened his hold. Stepping back, he cupped her face and tipped her head up. His gaze said he was looking at her neck. The stroke of his fingers confirmed it. “Had he hurt you—” He didn’t need to say more. The wolf in his eyes told her all she needed to know. Had Victor harmed her, he’d have died before his corpse had been dragged from the room.

“He didn’t though. He still has to pay. We need to come up with a punishment that will fit the crime, one that will ensure that he’s never seen nor heard from again. What he did to my parents is something that he will never gain pardon from. Now then.” She reached up and touched her fingers to Michael’s cheek. “Should we get on with this wedding for our people, my husband?”

Nodding, he let out a breath. She could see he was struggling to push the wolf back. Leaning in, he kissed her hard and fast, his tongue thrusting deep. He devoured her before he drew away. “You look beautiful, Rissa. Like a Princess, soon to be Queen,” he said softly.

“And you, my mate, look amazing. Like an Alpha about to become King.” Leaning into him, she took another hug before finally pulling back. “I think that I am now ready. Before, I was worried, but not any longer. Gabe was right. He said the moment I saw you my nerves would be gone, and they are.”

“Good.” He stroked her hair, tucking strands back here and there. “As soon as Gabriel returns, I will retake my place. Then we can get this farce under way so that they will all stop staring at me and pointing. They are all out there gossiping. Some believe you are being forced into this. Others think I’ve either put you under a spell or you’ve placed one on me. They are very suspicious and rude, I must say.”

She laughed. She couldn’t help herself. “They likely think that I’m pregnant as well. Silly people.” Her hand cupped his cheek. “It doesn’t matter what they think. All that matters is that we are here and we are together. We are about to be married in the eyes of the people, and after that I will personally give the women who dare look at you wrong hell. Period.”

“As long as I am there to bear witness, little mate.” He smiled at her. He was doing it more and with more ease, she knew. But only with her. Anyone else got the hard look of the warrior he was, ice cold and watching for any weakness. The door opened, and Gabriel returned.

“He’s tucked away and bound so well that I doubt he can even scratch his nose at this point,” Gabe reported. He moved up to her and wrapped an arm around her waist. “Are you all right, Princess?” he asked softly.

“I am now.” Rissa left Michael’s arms and wrapped her arms around Gabriel. “I have the men that mean the most to me in the world right here with me. I am alive and about to marry one of the three men that I love before our people, even though, legally, we are already married,” she said with a grin. “I’m happy, Gabe. Very happy. Are you all right?”

“Better now that you are safe once more and the threat to you is stowed away.” He kissed her gently before hugging her close. “You should get back into place, you two,” he said over her shoulder. “The masses are becoming restless, and even the priest looks ready to bolt.”

“We’ll go back up,” Michael said. Leaning over, he kissed her cheek lightly. “See you soon, Princess.”

  Raphael steppe
d close as Michael moved back and kissed her gently. “Rissa, you look like a vision.” There was the smallest of pauses before Raphael whispered to her, “I love you.” It was simple and to the point, but three words that meant the world to her.

Rissa smiled. “I love you, too, Raph. Now go and keep him up there so that we can get this over and done with. Later you can give me hugs and love.” She loved her wolves, all three of them. “Thank you,” she whispered softly. Grabbing Gabriel’s arm, she said, “All right, let’s get this over and done with, shall we?”

He guided her to the door into the entry and waved to someone out there. A couple minutes later, the music swelled. They stepped out and someone ran forward to straighten her train. As the music changed, smoothed out, and became a little softer, the guards swung the double doors open. “Here we go, love,” Gabe told her. “In one, two, and go.” They moved forward in perfect, smooth sync.

Rissa was smiling, she couldn’t help herself. One of the men she loved was at her side, and the other two were watching her anxiously from the steps of the pulpit. Taking a deep breath, she looked to Michael and mouthed the words, I love you. Finally his hands were holding hers. She stood there before him and made her vows to God and everyone.

As the ceremony came to a close, Michael kissed her slowly. He only pulled back when the priest cleared his throat, twice. Smiling slightly, he gave a lazy shrug. Dropping the smile, his mask slipped back into place and they turned to face the crowd.

“I present to you,” the priest said loudly. “Her Royal Highness and His Royal Highness, man and wife!”

Rissa clenched Michael’s hand tightly and looked up at him with all the love and happiness that she had in her heart for him. When they began to walk, she moved with him, Michael holding her close and Gabriel on her other side to keep her safe as well, with Raph following behind them. The resounding happiness of their people made her smile. Finally, it seemed as if life were finally right in their lands.
