“You are the one who is going to kill me if you keep doing that,” she whispered.

“So, I’ll stop,” he said and she shook her head.

“You do that and I will kill you for real,” she said in a soft voice.

“But how am I going to give you more of this,” he said as he slipped his hand in between her legs and brushed her still distended clit making her shiver a little. “If I am no longer around?”

She held the back of his neck and kissed him again as his phone started ringing again.

“You better get it this time,” she said when she pulled away.

“Dinner. Tonight,” he said and she nodded.

“As long as you get out of here right now. You might be losing the hotel for all I know,” she said and he shrugged.

“You would be worth it,” he said, smiling.

  *****

“So, have I told you just how perfect this whole arrangement is? With you and I in separate suites?” Victoria asked later that day as Trina got ready for her dinner date with Axel that evening.

She looked at Victoria and shrugged.

“Should I feel bad about what you just said?” she asked and Victoria shook her head.

“You met your instructor and I met mine. Matthew Liebermann,” Victoria said grinning widely. “Or Matt as I like to call him.”

Trina turned to look at her.

“Is that why you have been spending so much time away from me?” she asked and Victoria shrugged. “I thought you were just being respectful…giving me time alone with Axel and all that.”

“I was…I am,” Victoria said. “But I have been so clear headed lately. Everything seems to be falling into place just as it should.”

“And what does that mean? ‘Just as it should’?” Trina asked.

“Well, to be honest I am so done with Ian. I just needed that last shred of strength to just go and get him the hell out of my place…or at least get my stuff out before we decide how everything is going to go down.”

Trina looked at Victoria and raised an eyebrow. She already understood what Victoria was talking about but somehow there was something she needed clarity on.

“I’m sorry, but I have to ask,” Trina started. “This thing with Matt…is it just a physical thing?”

“Well, yes…maybe,” she said in a soft voice but Trina could hear the reluctance in her voice. “Okay, maybe I like him a bit too much.”

  Trina smiled.

  “You think?”

“It is probably a little more serious than I would have wanted it to be.”

“Maybe you are taking the rebound a little too seriously,” Trina pointed out and Victoria shook her head.

“Well, I need the rebound, Trina. I need to get over that bastard…well, I think I am already over him. I just need to get my fix now that he was almost always too busy for me while obviously giving all of his time to that bimbo.”

Trina frowned as she looked at Victoria.

“I’m really sorry,” she said when she realized how insensitive her words had sounded to Victoria. She had basically called her a slut in not so many words. “I didn’t mean…I didn’t…” she struggled to explain herself but she could not really undo what she had just said. Victoria shrugged.

“Hey,” she said in a soft voice. “I’m a big girl Crews. I know exactly what I am doing and I have no regrets.”

  Trina forced a smile.

“You shouldn’t,” she said in a soft voice. “After all, we only live once, right?”

  Victoria nodded.

“Yeah, we only ever live once and I will be damned if I have to let my one life be ruined because of a man who couldn’t keep it in his pants.”

“So, just being curious,” Trina started as she struggled to pull on a black dress. Victoria noticed her struggle and walked up to where she was to help her into the black maxi fitting dress. “How is this all going to play out once you get home?” she asked and Victoria shook her head.

“How is what going to work out?”

“This. Us being here…having a vacation on his dime?” Trina asked and Victoria shook her head.

“Honestly, I could care less. All I know is that when I get back home, I need to be in my own space away from him. And as far as this holiday is concerned, this is my way of getting back my life. Getting back what I thought I had lost.”

Trina looked at her and shrugged.

“And that would be?” she asked and Victoria shrugged.

“My femininity for one. My confidence…self-esteem even,” she said and Trina turned around to look at her. It was hard to believe that a woman of Victoria’s stature would ever have confidence issues. She was a perfect size and she was the kind of woman every man jerked off to.

  “Your confidence?” Trina asked. “Self-esteem?”

“Well, I kept on asking myself what the other bimbo had that I didn’t. And I just couldn’t figure it out. So I felt inferior, like no man would ever want me….but Matt has given me a new outlook on life,” Victoria explained.

“I don’t get it,” Trina said.

“Well, basically the deal is. Matt is…perfect. He looks amazing. He actually sees me and he lays it down on the regular. Something I have missed having,” she said as Trina held her curls back. “So, I don’t want to think about what will happen when I get home. All I want to think about is the here and now. The fact that I am happy for the first time in a long time.”

Trina looked at her and smiled.

“Good for you,” she said and Victoria smiled. “So, tell me. Except for that damn leg brace, how do I look?” she asked and Victoria nodded.

“You look beautiful,” she said smiling.

  *****

When Trina made her way down to the restaurant, she could tell by the way Axel looked at her that he loved her outfit. It was the same way she looked at him when she first saw him in the gray slim suit and black shirt in the lobby on her second day. There was some David Beckham vibe about him that day and maybe that was the same way he was feeling when he saw her that evening in the black long sleeved maxi dress that outlined all her curves. She had chosen to hold her curls up rather than straighten her hair and completed her look in a pair of long dangling silver earrings. The only thing she had a problem with was the brace she had to wear but Axel did not seem to mind. Matter of fact, it was like he did not even notice it.

Dinner that evening was amazing. Maybe even perfect. With each passing moment she spent with Axel, Trina was sure that he was different from all the other men she had ever met. And she was especially drawn to him. She loved how he always looked at her like she was the only woman in the room. The only woman alive even. But the way he was looking at her on that particular evening was different. Everything felt different.

And by the time they made their way back to the hotel lobby, she wanted nothing more than to go back with him to her suite and finish off dessert. But when they got to the lobby, Axel looked nervous and she didn’t really understand why.

“So, are we going to my place or yours?” she whispered to him when they took some time to rest her tired weak ankle.

He stood in front of her and looked into her eyes before he held her face in his hands.

“You are beautiful,” he said in a sincere whisper. It was the most sincere he had ever sounded to her. “And I know it has just been a few days but you have a hold on me and I am falling in love with you.”

“I think I am falling in love with you too,” she said and he leaned forward to kiss her softly.

“I don’t ever want to lose you,” he said as he looked at her. “Ever.”

“You don’t have to lose me if you don’t want to,” she said and he nodded.

“I don’t ever want to. And I don’t plan to,” he said in a soft voice as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet case. Trina’s heart skipped a beat as she saw him drop to one knee, right there in the lobby in front of everyone. She was too shocked to even notice the smal
l fine details of the perfect ring he was presenting to her.

  Chapter 7

Trina was stunned as she looked at Axel. It was not that she had not dreamed of that moment or anything like that.

Hell, every girl had dreamed of such a moment. When the man of her dreams went down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of his life with him. But the fact that she had only known him for a little over a week was a deal breaker. Or at least, it might have been a deal breaker for many people but for some reason, it wasn’t one.

  At least not for her.

She could not help but smile and nod.

“Is that a yes?” Axel asked as he looked up at her. “Because the marble floors are really quite uncomfortable on the knees.”

  “Yes…yes!”

The crowd that had gathered in the lobby cheered as he slipped the ring on her finger and got up before he took her in his arms.

“You have made me the happiest man in the world, you know,” he said when he pulled away, looking into her eyes. She smiled and nodded.

“You have made me happy,” she said. “More than you know. And I know this might sound like I am rushing this whole thing considering I have only known you for eleven days but I think we should just do it immediately.”

“Immediately?” he asked and she nodded. “Alright, maybe I am a little confused here but what do you mean that we should ‘do it’ immediately?”

“Get married,” she said and this time, it was Axel’s turn to raise an eyebrow.

“But you just said it yourself. We’ve only known each other for a few days and I have already proposed,” he said.

“I know,” she said and Axel looked around before he took her hand in his and led her away from the lobby to the waiting area. He sat down and she sat down next to him. “I don’t know if you have noticed but I am an African American woman in Switzerland. Getting my family out here is going to be hell….plus once they know, everyone is going to want to come and…” her voice trailed off. “I want to do it before I go back to the States.”

Axel smiled and shook his head. It was like she was reading his mind. He wanted nothing more than to simply make her his. And as soon as he could too.

“You know I know someone, a priest who is not too far from here,” he said. “I could call him.”

“Do it,” she said in a whisper and he reached into his inside pocket. He looked into her eyes as he scrolled down his contact list. She guessed that he was probably looking for any kind of sign that she would back out but she was still smiling when he found the contact.

“I found his number,” he said and she shrugged.

“Call him,” she said. Her voice so certain.

And that was all he needed to hear to make the call. He leaned over and brushed his lips with hers before he stood up and walked off to talk to the priest. She was still smiling when Victoria walked up to her.

“Congratulations,” she said as she sat down. She took Trina’s hand and looked admiringly at the ring. “Beautiful princess cut diamond. Fourteen carats at least.” She looked up at Trina. “The man has taste. That much I can say.”

“Thanks,” Trina said smiling. “I know you probably think everything is happening a little too fast, huh?”

  Victoria shook her head.

“I met Matt the same day you met Axel and I literally can’t picture what my life is going to be back at home without him,” she explained. “And this…being here with him has been the best week of my life.”

“He got your mind off Ian,” she said.

“Not just that. I mean, I could have found any guy to get over Ian but Matt is not just hot and extremely sexy. He is also perfect and hot in every sense of the word,” she pointed out. “There is no way in hell he is just a rebound.”

  Trina raised an eyebrow.

  “What?” she asked.

“Well, he has been a great rebound but the fact that he has also been an amazing man and a shoulder to cry on has really done a lot,” Victoria said and Trina noticed her cheeks flushed. “This has been the best week ever.”

“Yes.” She looked at Axel who was still on the phone. “It has been the best week ever. And now I am going to be someone’s wife. Can you imagine that?” she asked.

“Yeah, this is damn crazy. But I am really happy for you though.”

“No I mean, I am going to be someone’s wife. Today,” Trina said in a soft voice and Victoria’s eyes grew wide.

  “What?” she asked.

“That’s what Axel is doing right now. He is getting a priest to come over to do the ceremony and I would like you to be my maid of honor,” Trina announced.

  Victoria squealed in excitement.

“Yes. Yes….of course yes,” she said. “But wait…what are you going to wear? What am I going to wear?”

  Trina laughed.

“We should probably get on that,” she said nodding.

“Yes. We probably should,” Victoria said as the two of them stood up. They were about to walk off when Axel walked up to them. “I just found out that I am going to be a maid of honor.”

“Yes. Yes you are,” he said.

“And since there is no bridal shower, we have a lot to do including get a dress,” Victoria went on and Axel shook his head.

“Actually, I already have that handled,” he said. “You guys can have anything you want from the Anderson Collection.”

“Just so you know, I don’t want anything that is going to be over the top,” Trina pointed out and Axel nodded.

“Like I said, anything you want,” he said as he held her face in her hands. He kissed her softly and pulled away. “The priest says that he is going to be here by four. Will that be enough time?” he asked and she nodded.

“I just need a pretty dress and Victoria is going to get enough pins to hold my hair up,” Trina said smiling. “I will be ready.”

“Good. I’ll meet you in the….” His voice trailed off. He had absolutely no idea where they were going to hold the ceremony however small they intended for it to be. “Where are we going to do this? I hadn’t thought about it.”

“You know, I really love your penthouse,” she said and he nodded.

“The penthouse it is,” he said smiling. “See you in a few hours, Mrs. Anderson.”

“I’m keeping my name,” Trina pointed out.

“We can hyphenate,” he pointed out and she nodded.

“Yeah. That sounds so much better,” she said laughing. “See you later.”

He looked at her as she walked off giggling with Victoria.

“Am I the luckiest man in the world or what?” he wondered with a wide grin on his face.

  *****

By the time the clothing selections were coming in, it was almost an hour later but Trina and Victoria barely noticed because they were busy indulging in chocolate covered strawberries and ice cream. Trina was feeling a little nervous as she looked at the clothing rack. She had never really thought of herself as the blushing bride which was why a small ceremony was so perfect but at the same time, she was freaking out. She had never thought of herself being a bride. Heck, she had never thought of marriage. Period. Not after all that had happened especially the culmination that was Josh and Lucas. But now she could not really figure out what she wanted.

“What?” Victoria asked and Trina shook her head.

“I don’t know which one to choose,” she said. “They are all so perfect. And sexy.”

“That’s the beauty of having the clothing rack delivered here,” Victoria said smiling. “We get to try on every single dress we like. Plus it’s all free. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

  Trina smiled.

“I feel like I should be a little more excited. Maybe as much as you are,” she said.

“Wedding jitters,” Victoria said dismissively before she began pulling out dresses from the rack. “So, you better get started trying out the dresses.”

She pulled out a number of dresses and placed them
on the bed.

“Now, why don’t you tell me what you always pictured your wedding to be like?” Victoria asked and Trina shook her head.

“I have never thought of marriage, Vickie,” she said. “I never thought that it was in the cards for me.”

“Says the girl who just made up her mind to get married after being engaged for all of three seconds,” she said and Trina shrugged.

“Well, you understand that I am not looking for a Vera Wang gown, right?” she asked as she looked at the rack.

“Then I guess Axel knows you a little too well because there is no Vera Wang here.”

“But there is this,” Trina said standing up. She walked up to the rack and pulled out two ball gowns and another white floor length dress leaving her with a choice of six dresses that were anything but nuptial ceremonial. “And these…” she shook her head. “I don’t know.”

“Didn’t he say that you had unlimited access to the store?” Victoria asked and Trina nodded. “That’s good. Because I have the perfect dress in mind.”

Trina shook her head. She was not sure what the words ‘perfect dress’ meant to Victoria because for Pete’s sake those two were as different as ever. She was afraid Victoria would make her dress up in a puffy ball gown and white heels.

“What do you mean when you say perfect dress?” she asked and Victoria smiled.

“It’s not what you think,” she admitted. “But it is exactly what you need to show off that perfect ass you have been working your butt off every morning at the company gym for.”

“You know about that?” she asked and Victoria nodded.

“Jack the gym instructor is always telling me that if people worked half as hard as you did, we’d have a very healthy America,” she said and Trina forced out a laugh. “I think that explains your perfect body.”

Trina shook her head and reached for another strawberry.

“My body is far from perfect,” she said. “Especially next to you.”

  Victoria shook her head.

“You have a perfectly round ass that would make a Kardashian blush and you have worked with Jack long enough to have a beautifully flat tummy without wearing body shapers…”
