by Lynn, J. S.

Kenny pulled away, his dark eyes almost black with the need overwhelming his senses. He added another thick finger to her, pushing against her tight walls, trying to loosen her up for his thickness. Her wetness slickened the route, but he still wanted more. Sticking the fingers in his mouth, he growled as he taster the flavor. Going to his knees, Kenny’s hands went to her shorts, pulling them down to reveal her soggy panties wet with her essence. He ripped them off with his need and she whimpered as his tongue pushed between her puffy lips. His mouth sucked on her clit as she thrashed below him. She was so close that she pushed his head down hard between her legs. “Oh yes, I’m coming!”

Kenny slammed the two fingers back inside of her, while his lips sucked hard on her tender flesh. She could not withstand any longer and the grip in his hair tightened as she flooded his mouth with her sweetness. The man did not let a drop go, continued to finger and lick her until she was pushing back against him desperately.

Standing up, Kenny stood over her, his hand going to his pant front. Andy’s hands took over, trembling slightly as she unbuttoned the zipper and pulled the flap back. Before she could get to see what he had to offer, her phone rang. She would have ignored it if it hadn’t been her sister. She was pregnant and she knew that she had to take that call. When she told Kenny that, she thought he was going to fall to the ground in a fit.

“Just wait.” Andy pulled away and reached for her phone on the side table. She answered it and Kenny looked down at her with those eyes. She gulped with her voice cracking. “Yeah, um, sure. You’re here now? Okay just give me two minutes. Okay.”

Andy’s face was white. “You got to go, now. I have people coming over.” She threw him his shirt and told him to get in the bathroom. Kenny half-expected a husband to be coming home. Andy fixed her clothes and her hair, checking her face in the mirror before she opened the door to her sister. She hugged her and picked up her two year old nephew, Shane.

“You guys be careful and call me when my new niece or nephew is here.” Andy said quietly to her sister.

She wished them well and smiled as they left. Andy was rushing them and she couldn’t believe that of all nights, it would be this one. The bathroom door reopened and he looked at her a little differently. There was still desire, but he was looking at her as more than that. His dark eyes took in the small child hiding behind her and he bent down to say hello. Andy didn’t know what to say, but it was sweet how Shane quickly warmed up to him.

Gears had to be changed drastically and though she had figured Kenny would leave, he stuck around and made them cartoon pancakes for a midnight snack. Andy wondered if he was hanging around for something, but he seemed to be genuinely just there in the moment.

“I’m sorry about this. My sister is having her baby and I promised to watch him.”

“It’s okay, really. It was a good change of pace.” They watched the small boy sleeping on the couch and though there was still unfinished business, Kenny just held her that night. They slept with their clothes on and Andy was content in the crook of his arm. She settled in against him and was the first to fall sleep. Kenny stayed up thinking about times that had been similar and he felt the painful knot in his throat. What had started as fun night, ended with blue balls and too much introspection. Funnily, he had a pretty good evening and liked the way Andy felt in his arms.

  Chapter 4

Andy woke up early and found Shane already up. She got him ready and reminded herself that one day this would be full-time thing for her. Andy made breakfast and woke Kenny up. If someone had told her that she would have the guitarist from Junked in her bed, she never would have believed it. The fact that they didn’t do anything beyond cuddle was another shocker that never would have been believed. That he would be sitting across from her as she cut up sausage links for her nephew, would have been laughed at. The moment she had met him, everything had turned wonky.

He looked hungover and it took him longer to wake up then the rest of them. After he took a drink of his coffee, he was genuinely surprised it wasn’t spiked. Kenny talked to the young boy that sat across from him at the table. Andy got a call and it was her sister. When she got back, Kenny was singing a nursery rhyme with Shane and she couldn’t help but stop and listen. It was a whole other side to the man that had splashed across every tabloid for the last year. This did not seem like the rock star that had lost it all and went into a year-long binge drinking fest.

“So, do you guys want to go to the park or something? We are going to meet your baby brother soon!” Shane cheered and seemed pleased it wasn’t a sister. He would have accepted it, but every boy wants a brother. She looked at Kenny. “You don’t have to, but I have to get him to burn some energy before I drop him off at the hospital.”

Kenny nodded, chuckling as the young boy ran around the room as a jet. There was a whole lot of energy to use up and the park seemed like the best place. “I think I will tag along if you don’t mind.”

She blushed, that pretty little crimson color that he adored so much. “Great. I will get a few things together.” Andy turned away from him, her face on fire. Maybe she would get another day with her dream guy and maybe it would end a little differently than before.

They played frisbee and eventually let Shane run around until he started to tucker out. The hospital was a short drive and Kenny didn’t say much about her engine light being on. “You really should get that checked out.”

Andy laughed. “There are a lot less lights on than usual. Old Betsy is having a good day.” She tapped the dashboard lovingly. “I’ve had this car since my sixteenth birthday. She was used then, so she needs love often. Didn’t you ever just have that car you can’t seem to part with?”

He shook his head. “I don’t think I have anything I feel that way about.”

  “What a shame.”

She parked haphazardly in a parking spot that probably wasn’t actually a parking spot at all and turned the engine off. Shane was sleeping in the back and Kenny offered to carry him in. Andy agreed after a moment and she had to admit she liked the way he had taken to Shane. Shane had taken to Kenny famously and it made her see another side to the man she had posters of on her walls. It made Kenny seem so much more real and accessible than before. If she didn’t know it was real, she would have never believed it. She couldn’t wait to see what Ashlea said or if she would even recognize who was holding her son. She too, had been a fan before she settled and went into mommy mode.

Shane slept the whole way up to the 3rd floor and when they got off Andy asked the information lady where her sister was. She couldn’t wait to see the bundle of joy, but she had to drop off the older one first. She found the two sleeping with their baby wheeled in next to them. As if on cue, the baby started to cry and Lawrence was the first one up. His sleeping eyes smiled at them and with his eldest also sleeping, he picked up Carter, who had been born in the night. He was so tiny that Andy was afraid to hold him, but eventually did.

Ashlea came around and the first person she saw was Kenny. “I must be dreaming right now. Why is Junked here?”

“Not the band, just Kenny. Kenny, this is my sister Ashlea.”

Ashlea pushed her dark hair from her face and smiled up at the man she too, had a thing for when she was a bit younger. “Um, why do you have my son?”

“He carried him in. Shane is worn out from the park. I say you have another hour or so before he gets up.”

Ashlea held her arms out to take her son, smiling back at Kenny with a shy look. She had so many questions, but too many people to hear them at the moment. She looked back at Carter and Lawrence came to sit next to her. “He’s beautiful Ashlea. You guys make pretty babies.”

There was wistfulness in her voice that several people in the room caught, but no one made any comment of it. “One day, you will have your own.” Ashlea spied the guitarist and the way he looked at her sister. She had a good vibe all of a sudden and she hoped she wasn’t wrong about what she felt
was going on between the two of them. It was time her sister found some happiness.

“Well, I think we are going to get a nap while the kiddos are sleeping. Thanks for watching him Andy.”

  “Any time.”

  “Nice to meet you Kenny.”

He waved and nodded as they walked out of the room. He had caught the slick look in Ashlea’s face and he silently thanked her for some alone time.

“Well that was kind of crazy. Thanks for staying, though I can’t imagine why you would of.”

Kenny grabbed her arm and tucked it into his crooked one. “Where else would I rather be? You intrigue me Andy. You are not like other groupies.”

She giggled a little. “I guess not. It definitely didn’t go as I planned it in my head.”

“I would love to know your plans.”

She shut the door of the car and turned towards him. Before she could move forward, his fingers pulled her closer, his lips soft and insistent. He could still taste her in his mouth and his manhood jumped at the thought. When his tongue pushed between her teeth, she was lost in his touch. She moaned softly and then pulled away.

“I have to get to work in an hour.”

“I need more than an hour Andy.” Kenny pushed against her, his body shifting over to her as their lips met for the second time. She whimpered with the overwhelming touch on her skin. He felt so good against her that she wanted to be taken right then and there.

Andy pushed back again, her breath coming out in gasps as her hands braced against his chest. She didn’t know what more to say, but she couldn’t think when he touched her. It was as if her brain went blank with each soft caress of his fingers, leaving her a bumbling idiot. “Um, do you want to come down for a drink? I know this is probably not the hiatus you were looking forward to, but drinks will be on me tonight and I will make it worth your while when I get off.”

She didn’t need to give a suggestion. Kenny had decided to stay as long as he could, to get what he needed from her. Andy was hard to fully grasp and when their lips touched, he too found thought beyond the moment far more difficult. What was she doing to him?

“Drop me at the bus and I will see you in a bit. I need to change and everything.”

She kissed him again. Andy didn’t want to let go, afraid that she wouldn’t see him again. If she didn’t though, she knew that their time together had been perfect in its own way. She knew that he was going through some things and she herself, had ended a several year relationship. It was as if they had found each other in time to renew their faith in people. If for no other reason, Andy would remember him for that. The very idea that at any moment, the right one could just walk up, was a powerful testament to faith in general.

“Please come Kenny. If you can, I would really like to see you again. We can do whatever you want.”

His dark eyes blackened for a moment and he turned back for one more kiss before he got out of her small red hatchback. “Nothing would keep me away Andy. I will be back in a bit.”

She watched him walk away, looking back once to wave. Andy wanted to believe him, but it was hard to imagine him coming back to her little bar, in her little town. Kenny had just divorced a soccer star. It didn’t seem like a bartender from the middle of Indiana was going to get much more of his attention. She told herself to be happy for the moments they shared and Andy knew that it would have to be enough. She would always have the moments of pleasure and the feel of waking up in his arms to remind her of him. The way he had sung the song to her and held her nephew while he slept, were close seconds.

Andy had to get home and get ready for work. She touched herself gently in the shower, her quim still sore from the pleasure his fingers and mouth had derived. Andy still had the back thought that she was still asleep and it was all a dream. Maybe the concert had elicited the dreams of Kenny. Shaking her head she nodded into the mirror. If it was a dream, they would have done more than cuddled, she reminded herself.

  Chapter 5

“Where the hell have you been Kenny? We were this close to calling the dogs on you.”

Kenny nodded at Justin. “If I ever do go missing, don’t call the damn cops. “ He chuckled and went up into the bus. There was still a few people sleeping in the bunks and he found his bag and took a shower in the crummy back. It had never seemed so small as it did that day. He wanted to be back with Andy and it seemed strange to actually have something to look forward to. His stomach was not bothering him and before that second, he hadn’t thought of his ex since he had met Andy. That was a small miracle within itself and he liked the way he felt with her around.

“So, we are going to road trip up to Chicago to check out the nightlife. You coming?”

Kenny nodded. “I thought we were staying here for a few days?”

Jerry got a grin on his face. “Looks like someone found him a hottie in this small town.”

There were several laughs and Kenny got a little embarrassed. “So what? You guys will end up picking up hoes there. It’s no different in the city.”

He was ashamed he had said it, thankful that Andy would never hear the comment. The men were laughing loudly and someone smacked his chest as he left out of the bus. He didn’t care what they said. Kenny could think of nothing else that he would like to do but be there with her. He checked out some of the small stores, wanting to give her something, but the more he looked, the more discouraged he became. What could he give the woman that had given him hope back? It was a strange proposition and he ended up giving up in defeat.

Kenny did not make it back to the bar until late into the evening, close to the time they had first met the day before. It amazed him that so much could happen and change, in such a small amount of time. How could he feel that way so quickly? It was too late to be a rebound, but when their eyes met across the room, he knew that it wasn’t his imagination. His heart started to beat faster, as his eyes took in her slight form and the smile on her lips.

He moved closer and she waited for his approach. “I thought I wouldn’t see you again, Kenny.”

“Well I told you I was going to be back in a bit. Sorry it took so long.”

“I can wait. So what do you want to drink tonight?”

  “Just a beer please.”

She nodded and went to the cooler to grab one. Popping the top off, she leaned in to hand it to him and he pulled her across the bar and landed a kiss on her lips. There were sounds from the onlookers and Andy pulled back with a face as red as her hair. Kenny decided he liked it too much to not repeat and they were both breathless when she wiggled away.

  “Soon.”

  ***

Soon was not soon enough and as he watched her move around the room, wishing they could be back at her place. He promised himself that he would hide her phone, making sure that they were not to be interrupted again. All he could think about was her taste and how she was going to feel wrapped around him.

Kenny looked up from his musing and saw Andy in the corner of the room, talking to a tall blonde man. It was clear that he was hitting on her, his broad chest pressing her against the back of the bar. His blood rushed through his body and before he knew it, he was next to them, asking her if she needed any help. His dark eyes met the man’s, daring him to say a word. It seemed that he knew better and shirked away without a word.

  “Well that was rude.”

“I thought he was bothering you.”

“He’s an ex and he kind of was, but that is just part of this job. Twenty guys a night try to pick me up. I don’t need you getting jealous Kenny. It doesn’t look good and when you leave, I still have to deal with these guys. So less security please.”

She kissed him lightly on the cheek to soften the blow of her words, but he seemed properly shamed for his actions. He was acting like a jealous boyfriend and with her saying out loud that he was leaving soon, it put it all into perspective. He was only going to get one night with her.

  “I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking. I just
don’t like the idea of someone touching you if you don’t want them too.”

“And if I said I wanted it?”

His eyes darkened further as if a storm had rolled in and she laughed. “That is what I thought. I will be out of here in twenty. You want to clear tables? It will get me out of here sooner and keep your hands busy.”

He nodded, still a bit perturbed about the man touching her. It was true that he didn’t like the idea of anyone touching her and even though Kenny knew he didn’t have a right to feel that way, he did. What was he to do when he left and he would likely never see her again?

Kenny helped her with the small duties she had. He even cleaned glasses while she counted the till and made the drops for the next day. It was strange to be back to doing jobs he hadn’t done in years. He had been with the band for as long as he could remember. It had been a long time since he had felt regular.

“Thanks for helping Kenny. You are definitely not what I expected you to be.”

  “What did you expect?”

  “The tabloids version I guess.”

There was a look that went over him and she wished she hadn’t brought it up. He didn’t seem too happy to hear about the tabloids and from what she had read, she didn’t blame him. She had never considered how it must feel for what most know about him, to be false or spun in some way to sensationalize it. Andy had a window into his loneliness for a moment and she hugged him against her.

“Do you have anything you want to do?”

He pulled her to him and kissed her again, pressing her body up against the small car in the empty lot. She giggled with his intensity and pushed away to take a breath. “Okay, so my house then?”

  “Right here is fine.”

Kenny’s hands pushed her skirt up and her panties down in one fluid motion. She wasn’t quite sure how, but he was touching her bare skin in moments and she was sinking fast. Her head fell back against the cool steel, while his fingers rubbed and perused her sensitive flesh. Kenny’s mouth moved to her neck, teasing with sharp teeth.
