Ride or Die (Devil's Edge MC #1)

His brow rose. “Is that so?”

“Yes, now kiss me before you go get me breakfast. I need coffee.”

He did, and she started to make for the bathroom, giving an extra bounce in her step to keep his eyes on her.

“Wait,” he said. She turned around and quirked a smile at seeing his. “We both know this ain’t love yet. But you know I’ve got mad feelings for you.”

Something about his declaration was oddly romantic.

“I sure hope so if you’re claiming me.”

“But if you aren’t my old lady, what do I call you?”

Her smile ratcheted up a few more notches. “I’m your ride or die.”

  “Ride or die?”

“Yeah, you know. You’d die if you couldn’t ride that bike of yours.”

  He shrugged in acknowledgment.

“And you would die if I didn’t let you ride me,” she said, prettily.

He bit the corner of his lip, trying his best not to laugh as she took her sexy ass into the bathroom. He would have a hell of a time going to get breakfast. It took a lot of inner convincing not to follow her instead. He told himself over and over as he left that he had to feed her if he planned to ride that ass of hers several more times before heading to Utah.

  Epilogue

Life in Colorado had halfway done her good. The fresh air and the anonymity suited her just fine. But waking up with a head between her legs made everything all the better.

Dark hair crowned the man who could be king of pussy. He knew just how to get her off. More importantly, he was the only man who could enter her bed and not wake her up. She just trusted him that much.

It hadn’t mattered that she hadn’t seen him in weeks. She couldn’t go to California with things still up in the air with the organization. Unfortunately, they were dragging their feet while trying to make a decision about her status. Though there had been some negotiation back and forth, she guessed they were trying to find her. Besides that, Ender couldn’t leave his post at her father’s charter. So for the time being they’d played at the long-distance thing.

When he came up for air, unfulfilled desire heated his dark eyes and she knew they wouldn’t be leaving the bed anytime soon. His kiss tasted like sin and his grip held her with promise. She’d never fit so perfectly with a man before.

Soon, he rolled, leaving her on top so she could ride him just the way he loved. She lifted and slid down his length over and over again, creating potent friction. When his fingers dug hard into her thighs to still her, she meant to tease him by bucking as best as she could. He growled in response and tumbled her on her side to thrust so far inside her, she knew she’d be bruised the next day. By the time they finally came, she for the third time, their skin was licked with sweat.

“Fuck, I missed you,” he groaned.

“I didn’t know you were coming,” she said, half grinning because of the double meaning.

“Baby, I always come for you.”

He stopped any further conversation by devouring her mouth. Sometime later, they both panted with him spooned behind her.

She took the moment to ask, “What brings you to town?” because she hadn’t expected him.

  “You, of course.”

  She knew that. “No business?”

He shrugged. “Got to make another trip to Utah. I have to unseat the current president.”

She sat up because that was dangerous business. “Alone?”

Ender was the shit, but those who considered themselves on top didn’t often go down without a fight.

“It’s a small club,” he said, not seeming at all worried.

“There is no way I’m letting you go by yourself.”

He loved her determination and that she thought she could command him.

“You’re cute, but I’m deadly.” Still there had been another reason he’d made the trip out there. “I don’t need anyone watching my back,” he said.

She knew that. More than not, Rocky sent him to fix shit on his own and he was still in one piece.

“I’ve got your back, there’s a difference,” she proclaimed.

He smiled at her and rolled over to the side of the bed to pick up something he’d left in his bag on the floor. He had no intentions of stopping her from coming with him. He’d anticipated she’d want to.

“If you’re going with me, you’ll need this.”

She eyed the leather vest he held out to her. Slowly, he turned it. On the back it read in bold arching letters, Property of Ender, with the Devil’s Edge emblem in the middle.

  “Property, huh?”

“You and I know what it means to us,” he said, not wanting to get in the whole discussion over the merits of how Neanderthals thought, her words not his.

“And what’s that?” she asked, climbing to sit astride him.

“It means you’re the only woman for me and the only one in my bed.”

“You bet your sweet ass,” she said, playfully slapping at his chest before swiping the vest from his hands. “It could work,” she said absently. “We should probably get another one made, though. This one is too big.”

“What?” he asked. “If anything, your boobs appear to be getting bigger.”

She shrugged. “They do that, especially when you’re pregnant.”

He nearly toppled her over, forcing her on her back so he could loom over her. “Don’t play with me, woman.”

She grinned up at his serious face. She didn’t know if he was pleased or not, so she went with a straightforward approach.

“We’re going to have a baby, Eric. So get used to the idea.”

His head spun. They’d long since stopped using condoms. But she’d been on the pill. However, he trusted her enough to know she wouldn’t trap him. What he’d planted was his and he’d take care of them both.

“That means you’re not going to Utah,” he said adamantly.

Her eyes narrowed. “We’re in this together. You’ll just have to keep your ass alive so we’ll be safe. Besides, I’m a better shot than anyone in the club.”

  She was right about that.

“Fine, but you go in and play dumb. You wear something sexy as hell to keep them confused, which means you can’t carry.”

  “Uh-huh, what else?”

Hours later, clad in skintight jeans and a top that barely contained her boobs, she got off Ender’s bike like a boss.

He tucked two Sigs in the waistband at his back, one for him, one for her, and let his cut conceal them both.

They walked toward the front door of the charter like they owned the place.

“By the way,” he said, “Rocky needs me to stay put here and get this club back in shape before handing it over to a new president.”

That stopped her in her tracks. “Wait? What?”

The charter was just over the border in Utah and less than an hour from where she stayed.

“I’m moving in with you for a while. I’m sure shit will get worked out with your contract before I have to go back. Because I’m damn well taking you back with me.”

“Not before we go take care of Darryl.”

For a moment he didn’t know who she was talking about. When his eyes widened, she added, “For Mandy.”

“For Mandy,” he repeated in awe of the woman before him.

Her damn hormones kicked in and she confessed a truth she’d been hiding for months. “I fucking love you, you big lumberjack.”

She knocked his shoulder with her fist.

“I fucking love you too. Now let’s go kick some ass.”

Their kiss was quick but no less passionate before they pushed through the doors like a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.

“Listen up,” Ender said straight off, commanding the room’s attention. “Shit’s about to change.”

Everyone knew who he was, so he didn’t have to announce himself.

The current president got to his feet. “What do you mean?” The gray-haired man wasn’t that stupid. He was
just biding his time.

“I mean there is a new order. I’m king here now.”

“What the fuck?” the dimwitted president baulked.

“I would consider your next words carefully,” Ender growled.

So far, Piper played her roll, chewing on gum and not looking but assessing where everyone was and what they had in their hands.

“Then who the fuck is she?”

Ender let his eyes slide to his old lady for one long second before pinning each and every member with his glare. “This is Piper. She’s the new queen, my ride or die.”
