him,” Cioffi says proudly. “I mean, how could
you say no to something like that?”
Cioffi has been taking it easy since filming
“Redux II” last autumn. “Right now I’m doing a
guest spot on an Aaron Spelling pilot called Odd
Jobs. Other than that, I’m just enjoying being
here looking at the Pacific, and my wife of 38
years and I have a great time.”
The same cannot be said for Cioffi’s X-Files
character. Is Blevins really gone for good? “You
know, they never actually say [he’s been killed]…
We see him get shot and fall on the ground, but
we don’t necessarily know that he is dead – we
don’t know what has happened to his body.
“I had a great time working with these people
– they’re just the loveliest bunch of people, and
Gillian and David are just the sweetest things –
and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if Blevins came
back. You know,” he adds conspiratorially, “I was
talking to one of the producers, Kim Manners,
who also directed the episode, and I said, ‘So I
guess that’s it for me,’ and he just looked at me
with a very Mona Lisa smile and said, ‘You know,
in The X-Files nothing is as it appears. Don’t be surprised if you come back, just because it looks
like you’ve died.’”
