  “Spence…please…taste me.”

The sound of her pleading filled his ears and Spencer wasn’t about deny her or himself. He delved into the softness and licked from bottom to top. Regina arched under his mouth, gasping. She grabbed his head, pushing her fingers into his hair and holding him tight. He swirled his tongue over her clit, sucking at it gently and increasing the pressure. The taste of her was addictive and he hadn’t given into this particular pleasure in since his return. He explored his wife and, using his knowledge of her body, drove her out of her mind with need.

“Sh…it, yes…right there. Oh, my God, Spence,” Regina babbled.

Spencer pushed his tongue in and out of her pussy. Her wetness coated his tongue and he enjoyed tasting her essence. Gripping her legs, her held her open and ravished the succulent flesh of her body, moaning and growling. Regina shifted against the bed, her babbling increasing and her breathing getting faster and faster. He knew her body and, feeling she was on the edge, Spencer pulled out, rose over her then thrust into her firmly.

“Spence, yes. Harder, take me. Harder!” Regina screamed.

“Reggie. You are the one for me.” He stroked faster and deeper. “Fit me like no one else.”

“Yes.” Regina kissed him hungrily, gripping his ass and digging her nails in.

He hissed and increased his motions. Spencer groaned, moving with her as one, striving towards that pinnacle of release. Spencer felt like he was on fire and he wanted to engulf Regina in his flames taking her on a journey and bring her soul in alignment to match his.

“Mine.” Regina grunted, arching under him meeting him move for move.

“Yours,” he replied. “You’re mine, Reggie, and I’m never letting you go.” He grabbed her leg and pulled it higher on his hip.

Regina’s breath caught before she exhaled harshly. Her face was filled with desire. Spencer pounded into her, shuddering as she clenched around him. Suddenly she stiffened and tightened—Spencer’s sac went tight and he grunted. They came together, gazes locked.

  “Love you,” Regina breathed out.

“Love you,” Spencer echoed, moaning as he shook under the force of his release.

She rocked with him her wetness flowing as she continued to pulse with her release. Spencer slowed his motions, kissing her gently. Regina met his tongue with hers, tangling them together. He slid his face into the crook of her neck and breathed in her scent. He kissed the side of her neck then licked at the salty taste of her skin. Regina moved her hands up and down his back.

As he calmed, Spencer thought of all that had happened and was thankful that he was here with her. He could have lost her all those years ago. She had survived, but that accident had almost cost him her anyway. He knew she’d have to come to her own realizations regarding her guilt. Imagining what she had gone through and still felt made him want to solve it for her. But he couldn’t—Regina would have to figure it out herself and settle in her own mind that she was not to blame. What he could do was be there and show her that his love was unconditional. That they were the match to each other and nothing would part them again.

“Reggie, I’m leaving you,” Spencer said regretfully.

“And I’m going to hunt your ass down and tie you up and bring you back home.” Regina’s reply was mild.

Spencer frowned—she hadn’t even looked up from her computer. She was working at home for the day and had been holed in their office all day. On the other hand, he was relieved and happy that she was confident enough in them again to not worry when he made such a statement.

“You know the way you say that if anyone heard you they would think you have violent tendencies.”

“And they’d be right.” Regina grinned then finally looked at him. “So why are you leaving me?”

“I have a conference I’ve been roped into going to. It’s been planned for months.” Spencer grimaced. “I forgot all about it. I—”

“Irene sent me an email about it already. She made all the hotel and travel arrangements.” Regina rolled her eyes. “Since you hate going to these medical conferences, I figured you would deliberately forget about it.”

“I don’t deliberately forget.” Spencer walked over and sat on the desk beside where she was in the office chair.

“Yeah, sweetie, you don’t.” She said the right words, but they sounded false.

“I should be offended that you don’t believe me.” He put his hand over his chest. “Me, your husband. And I’ll have you know I don’t hate the conferences. I love getting to learn new things that can help me. I hate that most times after the workshops are wrapped up for the day the pompous fools use the time to act and tell you how wonderful they are. Then there are others who use the conference as an excuse to drink and act the fool. Some even use it to cheat. I’m a magnet for both and they seem to hone in on me and come to talk with me or over-share on their exploits in the sack.” Spencer frowned. He hoped there’d be people he knew at the conference who wouldn’t be like that. He hated being stuck with pompous windbags on the prowl.

“You’re just too polite to tell them to get lost and leave you the hell alone. Poor baby. At least the conference is in Vegas. You could just stay in your hotel room.” Regina patted his leg.

“Humph, again the right words, but I don’t actually hear the sympathy in your voice.” Spencer crossed his arms over his chest. “I hate the hotel room. It’s lonely. You’re not going to be there.” He pouted.

“Ahh…don’t use that lip on me.” Regina rose and pressed against him and nipped his bottom lip. “I know you hate travelling without me. Personally, I think you just want a warm body to cuddle with. Hmmm…maybe I should get you a blow-up doll.”

“I do hate travelling without you. Or when you travel without me so you supposition that I need only to cuddle with someone is false. It’s specifically only you that I need.” Spencer slid his hand down to her butt then pinched her. “And a blow-up doll? Really?”

“Ow,” Regina yelped. “Watch the merchandise. You break it and I will take it out on your ass.” She smacked his butt. “Hey, if you don’t want a blow-up doll, maybe a hot water bottle will help. Because, baby, you are like an iceberg and suck all the warmth from me when we cuddle.”

“Humph…you’re the one who is always cold. Then try to blame me.” Spencer shook his head and smiled. “Maybe I’ll get you a doll. Hmmm…I wonder if there is one that can be heated like a hot water bottle.” He hugged her. “Maybe there is a place I can get one and make it look like me.”

“You could do that. Maybe I’ll get rid of you and keep the blow-up doll. It won’t talk back.” She tweaked his nose.

Spencer snapped his teeth at her fingers and Regina chuckled. He kissed her gently. She rested against him and returned it. Spencer grinned at her.

  “You could come with me.”

“I would love to, but I have back-to-back events and I can’t leave my partners to do them.” She pouted. “You’re leaving me.” Regina put her hand on her forehead and pretended to faint.

“You’re such a drama queen.” Spencer held her up as he laughed.

“And you are my king.” She kissed him briefly. “But I’d like to point out—you are the one who came in all dramatic that you were leaving me.”

“Men are not dramatic. We are masculinely mysterious.”

Regina snorted. “Masculinely full of shit.”

“There is that too.” Spencer laughed. “You’re going to miss me.”

“Yes I will, Spence.” Regina rested her face by his neck and inhaled. “You smell so good.”

Spencer’s cock stirred and he tightened his hold on her, pulling her against him and rocking. Regina moaned then jerked away.

“Uh-uh. Don’t temp me I have work to do.” Regina’s voice was husky.

Spencer fought not to pout. “I guess I better go pack and let you get back to work.” He released Regina then strode towards the office door and paused in the opening.
Before I pack, I’m thinking of taking some of your coconut lotion and jerking off.” He looked over his shoulder. “Just thought I’d share that.”

“I wanna see. You’re not using it without me.” Regina came around the desk.

Spencer laughed and ran, hearing her chasing him. Yeah he was going to miss her, but before he did he’d make sure she would be well pleasured.

  * * * *

Spencer gritted his teeth and hoped that he would make it through the conference. The first day of the conference and he’d already attracted a pompous, cheating windbag. The man laughed and continued to talk, but Spencer didn’t even listen. He’d already heard enough. He took out his cell and texted Regina.

My magnet is in full effect—Spence

His cell vibrated with a message almost immediately.

  A windbag or a cheat?—Reggie

  A combination—Spence

  Poor baby. LOL—Reggie

  Even though I can’t hear you I can tell there’s no sympathy—Spence

I’m sympathetic all right. That you’re too polite to tell him get lost. So I’m sending reinforcements—Reggie

Spencer frowned at her message, confused.

“That’s enough talking. Get going, buddy,” a familiar voice said.

Spencer looked up, shocked to see Lila. The man who was speaking couldn’t seem to find his voice as he looked Lila up and down. She was dressed in one of her power suits. This one was a pantsuit in deep red and with a button down pale pink shirt and on her feet were sandals that left her toes visible. He glanced at the windbag who was practically salivating.

“Hey, beautiful. You want to make out with a doctor?” The man tried to sound smooth.

“Is he for real?” Lila stared at Spencer.

“I’m afraid so.” Spencer stifled a laugh.

“Hey, ugly.” Lila leaned beside the cheater. “Not even if you were on my table would I touch you.”

“Oh…you’re a doctor too.” The man seemed to deflate then he perked up. “What type of doctor are you? You must be a heart doctor like me because, baby, my heart is pounding. We could give each other exams…in my hotel room.” He leered again.

Spencer leant back, enjoying the show. Spencer almost felt sorry for him, but he’d been talking non-stop and degrading all the women who were present.

“I’m a medical examiner. I see dead people.” Lila bared her teeth. “And I’m imagining stabbing you with my scalpel.” Lila flexed her hand. “I have a great imagination too.”

“Oh…kinky. If you’re into that, sweetie, then I’m game.” The man touched her shoulder.

Spencer reached out to remove the man’s hands from Lila. Before he could, she grabbed the man’s hand then twisted it. He yelled and Lila kicked him in the knee and yanked his hand behind his back as he fell to his knees.

“Aww…did I give you a boo boo?” Lila taunted.

Spencer stared at her, shocked. Lila smiled at him then winked. There was a rush of footsteps and security surrounded Lila. Spencer stepped in and explained what had happened, with Lila and the other people who had been close enough to hear helping. The security took the man away and Lila leaned against the bar beside Spencer.

“You really have been hanging around Reggie too much.” Spencer signalled to the bartender for another drink. He looked at Lila.

“Just root beer for me.” She slid onto the stool beside him. “I only met Reggie a week ago. Yeah, we’ve had lunch every day, but that’s not enough time to corrupt me.” Lila smoothed a wayward curl of her hair back into her bun. “I’ve been this way a long time. I hate stupid men who think they have a right to grope women. He’s lucky I didn’t break his arm.”

Spencer lifted his eyebrow. “Why is it I didn’t know you were so violent?”

“I hide it well.” She smiled. “I dazzle them with my smile. It makes them think I’m kind.” She snorted. “Then if they piss me off they learn not to take my kindness for weakness.”

“Oh, my God, I want you to meet my brother, Dris. I think the two of you would get along very well.” Spencer laughed.

“Are you trying to set me up with your brother?” Lila shook her head then stared at him. “I don’t do matchmaking at all. Those never work. Besides, didn’t you think Jenn was a better fit for him?”

  “Reggie told you that?”

“Yep. In front of Jen. We went to see her store. She has some great things.” Lila smiled at the bartender who placed her drink down. The man returned it and seemed about to say something, but was called from down the bar and walked away. Lila focused back on Spencer. “Jenn isn’t into being set up either. She told Reggie and said she’d tell you herself next time she sees you. I like Jenn.” Lila sipped her soda.

“She’d good people.” Spencer drank his drink then looked at her. “So what are you doing here?”

“I had to attend the conference too.” Lila grinned. “When Reggie texted me about your going, she mentioned you might need backup to get rid of ‘pompous windbags’ and ‘over sharing cheaters’”—she made quotes with her fingers—“I didn’t catch you earlier when you checked in. I was running late.”

“Why didn’t you or Reggie tell me you were coming to the conference?” Spencer took another drink.

“She said let’s keep it a surprise. “ Lila grinned. “I think she liked messing with you about going to the conference and being a magnet.” Lila shook her head. “I see what she meant by your being a magnet.”

“Yeah.” Spencer looked at her soda then her. “They do serve wine.”

“I do drink, but I have to give a presentation after lunch.”

“Really?” Spencer tried to recall seeing her name on the program.

“I was roped into it. Someone couldn’t make it and they asked me to do the presentation. Claimed that I’m the foremost expert in my field that they have here for the conference.” Lila snorted. “They were blowing smoke up my butt. I was stupid enough to listen instead of running when I saw the rest of my colleagues avoiding the person in charge of our track.”

“I avoided that at least.” Spencer laughed at the look on Lila’s face.

It usually happened at conferences like this—some emergency would come up and the presenter couldn’t make it and someone else would be tapped to do the presentation instead. The conference had various fields of medicine and it was a week long. Spencer glanced around the filled bar and saw people he’d seen at other conferences. They would all learn from each other and share stories of the cases they’d come across. He knew he’d take away something from the conference that would benefit him and the hospital. If only he could keep the type of people he attracted to a minimum. He focused back on Lila.

“So did Reggie send you to be my bodyguard?”

“Do you need one?” Lila looked amused.

  “I’m a magnet.”

Lila laughed. “It can’t be that bad.”

Spencer didn’t correct her. She’d see that he was. Lila glanced towards the bartender and gestured for another drink. Spencer took out his cell and texted Regina.

Thanks for the reinforcement. I miss you—Spence

  You’re welcome. Miss you too—Reggie.

Regina smiled at Spencer’s text. She held her cell and wished he was here instead. Spencer wasn’t the only one who hated being apart when he or she had to travel. She set her cell on the table and propped her feet against the window seat in the living room, looking out of the window at the front. Unsettled, she rose from her chair and wandered around the living room then through the rest of the house. She had convinced herself when Spencer had left that she was used to being alone. But he’d only been back a short time and she realised how false that had been. She missed him when they were living apart.

“Seven days. It’s going to be long a week.” Regina sighed. “You can deal with him being gone for that long.” She went down the hall and was startled when she looked up at the closed door.

Regina stumbled back. She hadn’t re
alised where she had headed. Unconsciously she’d gone to the one place that used to give her comfort when she was unsettled or at times when Spencer did have to go out of town. She pressed her back against the wall and breathed deeply. Pain filled her and she slid down to the floor, shaking. She turned her head and stared at the closed door with the little plaque they had made. It was one of the first rooms that they’d changed for their needs when they moved in. They had taken down three walls and made the room into one large area. They had decorated together, putting in everything that she could possibly need and she’d insisted on making a place for him inside too. She didn’t need to be near the plaque to know it read ‘Reggie’s Studio’. The hours she’d spent there just dancing to unwind while Spencer would play his guitar and sing softly to accompany her filled her mind. The moments she’d plan choreography for an event or just to have fun with Dakota and the troupe they worked with. All of that rushed over her. Then she flashed to the last time she’d set foot inside the room.

It’d been a particularly brutal day when Driscoll had taken a turn for the worse and Spencer had been like a ghost waiting for his brother to die. She hadn’t been able to do anything to comfort him. The guilt had been eating at her. She’d sought solace, as she always did, in her studio. There were times when she might not be able to articulate what she was feeling verbally but through her dance she could. She’d started to dance then had collapsed, unable to find the joy in it.

“Why should I find any joy when I killed my child?” Regina said the same thing now as she had the last day she had danced.

That day she’d wept bitterly as she’d left the room, locking it. She’d never returned. She’d gone back to the hospital and sat with Spencer. They had prayed by Driscoll’s beside and Regina had made a silent vow to not dance again. She pounded her fist on the floor—she’d lived up to it. She rocked, holding herself, staring at the door that seemed to beckon her. She covered her mouth and shook, fighting so as not to cry.
