“Yes, damn you!” Kristin cried, her eyes closed, her head back, her hips rising and falling under Zachary’s hand. “Yes!”

He withdrew his fingers and clasped his hands under Kristin’s bottom. She felt his shaft pressing against her, gave a long, crooning moan as it slid inside her.

She tried to raise herself, to start the friction she needed so badly, but Zachary stilled her by grasping her hips. “Easy,” he breathed, giving her another slow, delicious stroke.

Kristin cried out, her fingers flying over Zachary’s back, searching for a handhold, a way to push him into her. He teased until she flung her legs around him and imprisoned him in her depths, then his control snapped.

He grated out her name and bent to suckle briefly, desperately, at each of her breasts. Then, raising himself onto his hands, he drove into her powerfully, withdrew, and drove again.

Kristin lowered her legs, heels digging into the rug as she hurled herself at Zachary, receiving every lunge, welcoming it. Her head tossed from side to side and her hair was a wild tangle around her face, but she didn’t care.

She matched Zachary stroke for stroke, and when her body began to convulse, gripping his, drawing at it, she pulled his head down and took his mouth with her own. He stayed with the kiss as long as he could, but then his powerful body buckled and he flung back his head. A low, muffled shout came from his throat as he gave himself up in final surrender.

When it was over, Kristin held him close, running her hands over his back to soothe him. She was too exhausted to talk, and there were tears glimmering in her eyes—tears she didn’t want him to see.

He rolled onto his back, pulling Kristin with him, holding her close. A long time passed before either of them spoke.

“I want you to quit the birth control as soon as possible,” Zachary said.

Kristin laughed. “Mother’s doctor already took care of that, handsome. You and I had broken up, and I didn’t plan on sleeping with anybody else.”

“Good. Then let’s get down to some serious baby making.” He rolled onto his side, smiling, and traced the circumference of her nipples with his fingertip. Kristin felt sweet tension coiling inside her, knowing it would only be a matter of minutes before he suckled her. “I’d like to be a father by this time next year.”

Kristin pulled a face. “Oh, yeah? How do you plan to manage that?”

“By taking you to bed on a very regular basis.” The words rumbled from his throat; he was already kissing the plump breast he’d selected. “I’ll come home for—” he paused to draw her into his mouth and enjoy her for a few moments “—lunch. And, of course, when I get back from school in the afternoon, you’ll be through writing and ready to welcome me properly.”

Kristin could no longer bear to lie still; she began to stroke him gently in retaliation. “Of course,” she purred.

  “Oh, Kris—”

“And there will be times, naturally, when I’ll visit you during the day. Your office door does have a lock, doesn’t it?” She nipped at his earlobe with her teeth, was delighted by Zachary’s lively response. “Doesn’t it?” she repeated.

“Yes,” Zachary groaned, completely in her power.

Kristin felt both triumph and passion as she maneuvered her husband into position for another session of loving. This time, she wouldn’t have to plead.

  He would.

And she was prepared to be generous.
