This felt wonderful, his fingers giving her exquisite pleasure while he moved deep inside her from behind. His breathing grew more ragged as their passion flamed. Occasionally his lips nibbled her ear or her exposed neck. His hand moved occasionally to tease her breasts. Those lips did wondrous things to her neck and shoulders. Her body thrummed with pleasure as he lavished attention to her entire body. Cocooned in his warmth, their bodies fused together, she climbed higher. She trembled as her release neared. He shuddered, his large hands grabbing her hips to anchor her body against his as he pushed deeper, faster. Jade went over the edge quickly. He held her tightly to him while she gave in to the exquisite pleasure. She felt the tension in his body, felt his muscles tighten, then he let go a roar, as he thrust fast and deep, his body tensing before his powerful release rushed through him.

“Oh God, Decker!” she panted. “Decker.” She felt his warm seed fill her.

He didn’t relax. He remained tense.

“Damn, babe, I forgot a condom!”

Jade rolled over to face him. “I’m not worried. We have established that we’re in a committed relationship, so I don’t think we need condoms anymore.”

“You’re damn right we’re in a committed relationship. Babe, I got lost in the moment, I’m sorry. I won’t forget again.”

“I don’t think it is necessary anymore, Decker. You haven’t been with anyone in a long time and neither have I, so.”

  “What about pregnancy?” he asked.

“Oh, dear.” Jade shook her head. “How could I have forgotten about that? It’s been so long since I had to think about it, I guess. It’s not a good time for babies, with everything we are going through. When I was married I always wanted a baby, but it never happened. When we get back to Chandler, I’ll see my doctor and go on the pill.”

“Until then, we use condoms. You’re right. This is not the time to bring babies into our lives. It won’t be until this is finished or we decide it’s the right time.”

“I would worry if we had a baby while he’s after us,” she said softly as she looked into his gorgeous, blue eyes. She lifted a hand to caress his face. She liked the feel of his rough stubble. “If we don’t or can’t defeat him, I don’t think I want to bring children into the picture. He would prey upon them too.”

Decker wanted kids. He could see Jade’s point, but he still wanted to have kids. He also felt it was his duty, if they didn’t defeat Ciaran, to bring children into the world that might be able to do what he failed to do. It was a bit soon to be talking about babies, but it was his fault. He’d forgotten the condom. He was certain he wanted Jade in his life. He decided whether, or not, to have children was a discussion they could have another time.

There was something else he needed to say first. Over the last few days, he started realizing that he might be in love with her. The vision of a future family Christmas dinner yesterday had confirmed his feelings, at least made him actually explore them. Before falling asleep last night and this morning before the alarm rang, he’d done a lot of thinking, and he realized, that rushed relationship or no, he had real feelings for Jade. He wanted Jade in his future for the long haul. He was in love with her. He couldn’t deny it any longer. It might be too soon, but he’d pretty much thrown his rules out the window with her, and maybe that was because he didn’t need rules with Jade, because she was the right woman for him.

He bent his head to kiss her tenderly and looked into those mossy green eyes that fascinated him so. He was just about to reveal his feelings, when a loud rap sounded on the door.

  “Mikey!”

It was Liam and he sounded pissed or upset. “Yeah?” Decker answered. He was certain he locked the door last night, but he drew the sheet and blanket over them, just in case.

“You guys need to come down. We’ve got problems.”

“Can we shower first?” Was it Lauren again?

“No, man. Shower later. You need to come downstairs.”

  “Is everyone okay?”

“Uh, yeah. Everyone here is fine.”

“Okay, we need to get dressed.”

  “Just hurry!” Liam urged.

As early Sedona mornings were cool, even in summer, Decker threw on his favorite pair of old, ripped up jeans and a t-shirt. Jade pulled on yoga pants and a long-sleeved, thin cotton tunic. They brushed their teeth and splashed water on their faces.

She smoothed down Decker’s tousled hair, which earned her an appreciative smile from him.

Jade brushed through her hair quickly. It was necessary. Her hair was a mess and looked like she’d just had hot, wild sex, well, because she had. She stepped into her shoes and hurried out the door behind Decker.

“What’s going on?” she asked, breathless after they hurried down the hall and entered the family room.

“I, um, woke up and went to let Max out, it’s the deck. You need to see it. Then you need to have a look at the cameras.” Brody’s gaze rested on Decker.

“Okay.” Decker turned to reach for Jade’s hand.

“I don’t think she needs to see this,” Brody warned.

“Oh, God, where’s Sam?” Jade looked around frantically then sighed in relief when Sam jumped from the sofa and ran toward her.

“She’s fine. She slept with me,” Liam assured her.

Jade looked to Harper and Erin. “Did you see what’s out there?”

  Harper nodded.

“Yeah,” Erin told her. “But, you don’t have to.”

“I’ll go with you.” She looked to Decker. “Please. I want to see.”

  “Okay.” Decker took her hand.

They followed Brody, Niall, and Liam onto the deck. Dead birds were everywhere. Most of them were small, but there were a few large birds. The tablecloth they left on last evening was smeared with blood, and boasted bloody handprints, some large, some a little smaller. It appeared someone had written words with a bloodied finger, ‘You can’t destroy me’.”

An envelope addressed to Michael Flynn Decker was beneath a rock smeared with blood.

“Did you open it?” Decker looked to Niall and Liam.

“No.” Niall threw a pair of latex gloves to Decker then pulled some on himself. He held up a letter opener he’d found in the study. “It could be poisoned. I’ll open it.”

“I have gloves on, I can open it.”

“I’m the guardian. That makes it my job to see that you do not take unnecessary risks. Get used to it, Michael.”

“If something happens to you, I won’t have a Guardian,” Decker posed.

“You’ll have Fianna.” Niall informed him quietly as he slid the letter opener along the top fold of the envelope. He passed his hand over it, looked inside, and brought it to his nose to smell it. Finally satisfied, he placed the envelope in Decker’s gloved hand.

Decker removed a piece of paper. A lock of dark hair fell out onto the deck. He opened the folded note.

You do have good taste in women, I must admit. We must end this. As the senior brother, you must take responsibility and be on Templeton Trail below Cathedral Rock at three o’clock tomorrow afternoon – alone. If you exchange yourself for the brunette, I’ll let her and the others live, even your precious blonde. Your life for theirs. Otherwise, I will kill this one and the next to die will be your woman. Your brothers’ deaths will follow. If you don’t exchange yourself for this, lovely, innocent woman I keep, you will see them all die before I finish you. I’ve just been playing with you thus far. You don’t have a chance when my intention is to kill.

Let’s settle this like gentlemen, shall we?

  Ciaran O’Sullivan

His signature was big, bold and smeared with blood.

Decker handed the note to Niall. Liam and Brody crowded around him to read it over his shoulder.

“You will read it aloud, Niall,” Aunt Neave commanded as the men entered the house.

“Who is this woman he has?” Decker asked. He looked around the room. Everyone was there that should be
.

“Computer room.” Brody pointed to Decker and held up his hand to keep Jade from following.

“The girls can’t see the tape, sweetie. None of them have. It’s nothing you need to see,” Liam explained.

“We haven’t.” Harper shook her head.

“I have not seen it,” Aunt Neave assured her.

“I will stay with the ladies. I’ve seen it. I’ll read the letter to them,” Niall offered.

“Lauren? He has Lauren?” Decker said as he watched the video and the Kirlian footage running, time-synched and side-by-side. Lauren stood shaking with fear, dressed in a wrinkled black evening gown with her lips trembling and tears rolling down her cheeks. It appeared she might have a couple of bruises, one on her cheek and another on her arm. She looked frightened.

  Brody nodded.

“He does,” Liam said in a solemn tone.

Ciaran slid his hand into the bosom of her dress, reached in, and fondled her breast. She tried to raise her hand and strike him but he pushed her. She stumbled and fell backward. On the regular camera, Decker could see only Lauren. On the Kirlian camera, he could see only the shape and outlines of their energy; Ciaran’s being much darker and denser than Lauren’s, though hers was full of dark patches. Lauren awkwardly scrambled to her feet, her arms shielding her head as she did.

“Shit!” Decker shook his head. As the video neared an end, Ciaran grabbed Lauren roughly by the shoulders and pushed her along the deck. Then they both disappeared into thin air.

“If I meet with him, it’s going to be to kill him,” Decker declared calmly.

“You’re not meeting with him.” Liam pointed his finger at him. “We don’t know how to hurt him, much less destroy him. He’ll kill you. It’s what he wants, the letter stated it plainly.”

“I don’t like Lauren, but I can’t let him kill her!” Decker argued.

“I know. As much as I can’t stand her, I get what you’re saying.” Liam sighed heavily as he ran a hand through his hair. He blew out a deep breath.

“We need to think about this. We have to find a way to do this without you meeting him alone,” Liam suggested.

“No. What we need to do, is find a way to get her away from him safely, without any of us being hurt,” Brody offered. “We need to trick him somehow, so that we all get away, including Lauren. Liam’s right. We don’t know how best to engage him yet. We’re clueless when it comes to battling a demon.”

Decker growled in frustration. “He’s trying to force our hand. I’m sure he knows we are just beginning to learn what we need to in order to stop him. You’re right, Brody. Somehow, we need to turn this around on him. Surprise him, in some way. I have no idea how, but we need find a way. We need a plan, and a damn good one.”

“That’s what we’ll do then. It’s our only alternative.” Liam gave Decker a nod. “We need to talk to our cousins and Aunt Neave. Surely, they will have some ideas.”

Ciaran ran his hand along the silky, smooth flesh. The woman did have a very fine body. Her breasts weren’t natural they were implants. Many women bought those these days. He preferred the real thing, but had to admit her implants were aesthetically pleasing, like the enhanced fullness of her lips, and possibly even her buttocks. He gave her a hard smack there. Hmm, her butt just might be real.

He only had to deal with her until tomorrow afternoon. She was highly irritating unless he was giving her sexual pleasure…or cocaine. Or booze. He’d given her plenty of all of them. It kept her from whining. And sex with her was not boring, not in the least. She liked it all, even when he was rough. She let him do anything he wanted, really. She was a willing, very willing, participant, and so eager to please.

It had probably been at least a century since he’d had a woman he hadn’t spelled or forced to spend an entire night and day in bed with him. He hadn’t been dressed since last evening. He gathered a bit of energy from a willing woman, but so much more from an unwilling one. But no matter. This was a nice change, laying here with a naked, attractive woman, well when she wasn’t complaining anyway, who was damn near insatiable when she was drunk and high, which he had seen to it she was.

He slid his hands around her throat. She’d be no use to him after he killed the O’Flynn and he had the woman he coveted above all others. It would be enjoyable to crush the life out of this useless one, absorb her energy before she breathed her last. Then he’d take Caoimhe, rather Jade, to his place of power in Ireland, and he would keep her locked in the secret rooms below the castle. She might even keep her looks for another twenty years, before age took its toll on her. He knew in the beginning she would need to be forced, and that thought excited him. Quite a lot. Once her spirit was broken, she would submit to him, and that carried its own appeal. The look alike to the blond beauty he’d wanted for all time, beneath him in bed, doing everything he asked of her. Yes, it was definitely appealing.

  The woman beside him stirred.

“What time is it?” Lauren croaked.

“Nearly time for luncheon. I’ll have some shrimp cocktails, and maybe some caviar brought in for you.”

  “Yes. And a Bloody Mary?”

  “Of course.”

  “I am hungry, Ken.”

“So am I, but for something else entirely.”

“Look what you do to me, Lauren.” He lied. Thoughts of Caoimhe had given him the hard on. He rose up on an elbow and motioned for her to look at his engorged shaft standing straight up.

“Mmm,” Lauren purred as she looked down at it. “Once I have Michael back, I can’t see you anymore you know.”

“I know,” he drawled. “I am so disappointed,” he lied yet again.

Her hand moved to stroke him. “But you’ll have that blonde, and you seem to want her. I’ll have Michael back; he’ll be so worried thinking I’ve been kidnapped. You’ll have her. I can’t imagine what you see in her, but it is the deal we made.”

“Right. Our bargain. Now, put that sinful mouth on me you naughty girl then we’ll eat and you can have another drink or two. Three if you like.”

He settled against the pillow and had his fifth blowjob of the day.

Some days were just better than others were.

“Decker, you can’t meet him tomorrow, you can’t,” Jade pleaded the minute they entered their bedroom.

“I’m not, babe, at least I have no intention of exchanging myself for Lauren. We’re going to talk after breakfast and come up with a plan. We can’t defeat him yet, we don’t know how. So we have to find a way to get Lauren away from him, and keep us all safe at the same time, okay?”

Still frowning, Jade nodded slowly. “He obviously has something planned for you on that trail. I don’t feel good about you going to meet him alone. I can’t help it, I just don’t.”

Her worry was clearly revealed in her eyes. Decker hugged her to him. She was tense. Hell, he didn’t feel good about any of this either, but he knew he would have to go to Templeton trail at three the next day for anything they came up with to work.

“Don’t worry. We will work it all out, babe. We’ll have a good solid plan in place by then,” he whispered soothingly while he rubbed her back. At least, he hoped they did.

“Yes, we are. There is no way in hell you can walk that trail alone tomorrow!” she mumbled into his shoulder.

“We’ll find a way to do this and keep all of us safe. Let’s hit the shower, come on.” He gave her bottom a quick, soft pat.

Jade sighed when he released her. She followed him into the bathroom and admired his gorgeous, naked upper torso after he pulled off his t-shirt then admired the rest of him when he took off his jeans. Although it was the beautiful person he was on the inside that she was falling hard for, she had to admit, she really liked the look and feel of his hot, hard, muscled body, as well as that devastatingly handsome face, that square jaw, those sensuous lips. His striking blue eyes and long lashes made her go weak in the knees sometimes. And his smile, oh lord! She would also add that the man h
ad the firmest, tightest buns she had ever seen.

Yeah, seeing him naked just did things to her. She felt anticipation race like electricity through her body. Harper was right. Decker was hot!

More importantly, she felt like Decker was the man she had been waiting for all of her life. He was a good man with a strong sense of right and wrong. It was easy to see he was loyal to those he loved and she knew he was honest. There was no way she was going to lose him before they had a chance to start their life together. After she went out with him that first night, she felt there might be something very special between them, now she knew that to be true. They clicked. No, more than just clicked. They fit together. Perfectly.

Her intuition had not failed her. Their relationship, though still new, was incredible and grew stronger and more meaningful each day. What she had with Decker was something she had only dreamed of having, until she met him. She believed they were meant to be together. She hoped he felt the same. She wasn’t going to let some immortal demon mess that up!

“What is that determined little smile for? Hurry up and get in here.” Decker’s devastating smile and deep, husky command pulled her from her thoughts. He was gloriously wet, naked, and semi-aroused.

“Oh, I was just thinking about what I’m going to do to you when I come in there,” she threatened with a seductive little laugh, her voice silky with the desire she felt for him.

She pushed her fears away. She was going to let go of the worry, forget about demons and curses, and just live in the moment. The now. Worry did nothing to help any situation, it sometimes even made things worse. Your thoughts attracted energy. If your thoughts were filled with worry, doubt, fear and assuming the negative would happen then that’s what you received in return. It was crucial she think only positive thoughts moving forward. Especially about what now loomed ahead of them.

She undressed quickly. She stepped into the large shower naked, confident and eager to join him with what she hoped was a sultry smile upon her face. The appreciation in his eyes told her it was. Then he pulled her into his arms, beneath the spray of warm water and she was wet and oh, so aroused. That moment, and the many following, proved to be highly pleasurable for them both.
