The Edna St. Vincent Millay Society

The Edna St. Vincent Millay Society, founded in 1978 as a nonprofit educational organization, is dedicated to preserving Millay’s literary work, personal belongings, and real property for the enjoyment of present and future generations.

Steepletop, an 1892 Victorian farmhouse and seven-hundred-acre farm in Austerlitz, New York, was the poet’s permanent home for the second half of her life. Under the stewardship of the Society, both the house, designated as a National Historic Landmark, and the surrounding gardens are undergoing a full restoration. In 2010, sixty years after the poet’s death, the house was opened to the public for the first time.

Visitors will be amazed to discover how Millay lived and where she found inspiration in her quintessential New England homestead. For more information please visit www.millay.org or call 518-392-3362.
