SHERIL KIRSHENBAUM is a research scientist at the University of Texas at Austin and a science journalist contributing to popular and academic publications from The Nation to Science. Her writing was featured in The Best American Science Writing 2010 anthology. A graduate of Tufts University, she holds two masters of science degrees in marine biology and marine policy from the University of Maine. Sheril has served as a science fellow on Capitol Hill and a pop radio jock, and currently co-hosts The Intersection on Discover blogs with Chris Mooney. She was born in Suffern, New York, and is also a musician.
