Even When It's Wrong

I giggled, as I felt the baby kicking. “Now, we gotta bathe all over again.”

“That’s alright. It was worth it,” he breathed, before assisting me with cleaning my kitty.

Having a huge belly was limiting what I could do, so he’d been shaving me, and cleaning it whenever he could. Of course, I could handle the cleaning if I had to, but when he was around that was his job.

After hopping out of the tub, I found myself staring at my naked reflection in the mirror. Surprisingly, I hadn’t picked up much weight, beyond my stomach area, but I couldn’t help but wonder if I’d have a hard time getting rid of the baby fat after having the baby.

“What you doing?” he stepped over, popping my butt.

  “Stop.” I grabbed my ass.

“Nope.” He posted up directly behind me. “What you thinking about?” he whispered into my ear.

I gazed into his eyes through the mirror. “You love me?”

  “Like a muthafucka.”

  “And just me?”

His face remained serious. “Just you.”

I tucked my lips into my mouth. “So, are you going to tell me what’s up with Lacy claiming that her baby is yours?”

He frowned. “Who told you that bullshit?”

“Nobody,” I lied. “I saw it on Facebook with my own two eyes.”

He shook his head. “That bitch is just dick riding. She has never come to me with anything about her baby being for me. If anything, she’s mentioned people insinuating that he was mine, and she’d laugh about it. And that was because I hadn’t fucked her nowhere near the time she’d gotten pregnant. Honestly, I was too wrapped into you, and juggling them other bitches. You know what I’m saying? The hoes that I had to deal with, and that’s it. I put that on my unborn son that there is no way that her baby could be for me. I think that she likes for people to assume it, because she thinks that it’s a good look for her.”

“Is that right?” I gave him a skeptical look.

  “Hell, yeah.”

“Okay, if you say that’s what it is, then I’ll accept that…for now.”

He scowled. “Nah, what’s this for now talk? That’s what it is, period. And I hope you don’t let this become an issue, because shit will only get worse. These hoes was already coming at me, before anything, but now everything done intensified. They wanna be the girl that I come home to, and don’t mind slinging a little mud to get that position. That’s just the price of success. The vultures will come out, so I need you to be strong, and know that I’m not worried about none of those hoes. If it aint about you, my baby, or my music, Ion have time for it. So, I really need you to know that.”

I swallowed hard. “I hope, and pray that you mean that, Omari. Seriously. Because I’m not even gonna front. I love you so much that it’s becoming scary, and I’d hate for you to ever take advantage of that. Cause on my life, I’d never do anything to hurt or betray you.”

He wrapped his arms around me, palming my belly. “I aint trying to hurt you, My. The kind of security you provide can’t be bought, and I’d be a fool to jeopardize that. I wouldn’t.”

I nodded, while my eyes slowly lowered, feeling it in my heart that he was being truthful. And I prayed that nothing would come along, and shake my confidence in us.

  Chapter 28

  Mya

“Raindrops. Top drops. Smokin’ on cookie in a hotbox. Fuckin’ your bitch. She a thot, thot, thot…” the Migos pumped from the speakers, as the crowd was hyped in club Pure.

It was weird entering a club for the first time with a huge belly to boot. Me, Cavalli, Nerie, Daynah, Josairah, Taraj, and Keyasia were being escorted to our section, as the bouncers shoved through the throngs of people.

“Damn, it’s packed in here,” Keyasia fanned herself, as we were showed to our seats.

“I know,” I breathed heavily, as I eased onto a couch. I glanced around the room, feeling completely out of place. Even with my hair done up in frilly curls with a deep part on the side, and my make-up beat for the Gods, I couldn’t help feeling self-conscious. I was big and pregnant, while bitches with nice bodies flounced around, trying to be seen.

“When is Melo and Omari performing?” Nerie inquired.

“Probably in a minute since somebody else is closing out the show,” Keyasia spoke up.

I remained quiet, because I really didn’t know much. Although, I’d been to the studio with Omari too many times to count, I had never actually been to a show. So, when I found out that Daynah and the crew were attending this one, I couldn’t resist. They were all getting primped up for the night, and were planning on meeting their dudes there. After sitting back, watching how hyped they all were, I decided that I wanted to go at the last minute. Just so happen, Nerie and Cavalli were there, so they came along as well. Omari didn’t even know that I was coming out, and I wasn’t exactly sure how he’d feel about it, but it was done now.

Taraj had also expressed her apprehension about coming, because there’d been bad blood between Taz, her man, and Melo over an incident where he’d tried to holler at her. Supposedly, their big homies had sat them down, getting them to squash the beef, but she said that Taz was still adamant about her keeping her distance. Therefore, he was a little leery about accepting Omari’s invitation, but Taraj had convinced him that the night would be drama free. I just hoped that she was right.

It wasn’t long before all the girls were turning up, dancing to song after song, while guzzling down bottles of Cîroc. Cavalli and Nerie were trying to keep up with Keyasia and Taraj, but that was nearly impossible. For them to both be extremely pretty chicks, they were wild as fuck. Key had no problem bending it over, while Taraj playfully slapped her ass. Josairah and Daynah were more reserved, but I had a sneaking suspicion that Josairah was on her best behavior, because Little Jahrein was the first dude to join us. So, she was relegated to doing a simple two-step.

“I had put my back up against the wall. Tell me that I don’t deserve to ball,” both Taraj and Keyasia rapped along with the music, feeding off of each other. I was feeling a little jealous, as they both rocked cropped tops, and booty shorts, exposing their perfect physiques.

“Aye!” Taraj wagged her tongue, as she began twerking.

“The fuck you doing?” Taz popped her ass hard, as he stepped up with a huge bottle of Cîroc in his opposite hand. He was a handsome dude, but always looked mean as hell, but Taraj always knew exactly how to handle him.

With a grin on her face, she spun around, vulgarly grabbing him, humping him. His face lit up with laughter, as she was super aggressive, grabbing his dick through his jeans.

Keyasia was still in a zone, throwing her ass like her life depended on it, until Wale swaggered over, whispering something in her ear. Whatever it was, her ass stopped dead in her tracks, before they collapsed on the sofa next to me, with her sitting on his lap.

“Uh oh, yall know what time it is, huh?” the deejay announced over the music. “My niggas Melo and Gwuap are about to hit the stage!” he shouted. “So, I want yall to get the fuck up, and show some love!”

“Yesss!” I heard several bitches scream.

There were a few chicks posted up right outside of the section, who were chatting amongst themselves. “Girl, let’s try to get up by the stage. Gwuap just don’t know it, but he’s getting his dick sucked tonight.”

Her little ratchet friends thought that the shit was hilarious. “Nah, hoe,” another one spoke up. “If anything, we sharing his ass. I don’t normally share dick, but I’ll make a exception for his fine ass. I heard he’s working with a monster too.”

The back of my neck grew hot, wanting to slap each and every one of them, but I knew that it wouldn’t be smart. Omari was becoming a public figure, and women would throw themselves at him, but I never thought about how actually hearing it for myself would affect me.

“What the fuck is up in this bitch?” Melo spoke on the mic, as he stepped onto the stage.

  Of course, the audience
howled.

“Aye, what it is?” Omari stepped out, and the bitches lost their minds. He was sporting all white Givenchy with blood red Louis Vuitton sneakers, belt, and shades.

“Gwuap, tell ‘em what it is,” Melo tapped his shoulder, as the music dropped.

Omari tilted the mic up, before beginning. “I tell these hoes quit playing with me. I beat the pussy up, and then I stand in it,” he rapped.

It was amazing to see the crowd rap the lyrics to the song, word for word. Melo was doing his thing, and was a natural, but there was something special about my baby. The stage seemed to be made just for him, as he performed as if he’d been doing so his entire life. Then when he briefly lifted his shirt, exposing his hard abs, it was over, as several bold women grabbed his pants leg. One girl managed to hop on stage, and tooted her ass on him. He gave that award-winning smile, popped her ass one time, and laughed it off, before she hopped off the stage on her own.

I clenched my jaw tightly, realizing what he’d do, as he spent countless hours away from home. I really didn’t know what to expect coming to the show, but I wasn’t prepared for all this. Beautiful girls, who could probably have any man they wanted were openly throwing themselves at him.

Taraj snapped me out of my thoughts, as she tapped my shoulder. “Girl, your man is fucking it up!”

“Yeah, I see.” I bucked my eyes, as their set ended.

The deejay began spinning music again, enthusing the crowd. “Ten bad bitches in a mansion. Wrist on Millyrock. Them diamonds on me dancing. When you working hard then your money start expanding. I got model bitches wanting to lick me like some candy…ha, I’m just stunting on my ex bitch. Ha, I’m just flexing on my ex bitch…”

“Hold up, hold up!” Key bounced in Wale’s lap.

I half smiled, as I shook my head, before looking towards the stage. Omari and Melo had stepped off, and were now moving through the crowd with a sizable entourage following closely behind. I watched, as some high yellow chick with bleach blonde hair joined them, hugging Omari.

Nerie came squeezing next to me. “You know they been saying that they’re fucking around on Instagram, right?”

“Who?” I whipped my head around.

“Omari, and that light skinned girl. She be in all kinds of niggas videos. I follow her on the Gram,” Nerie offered, almost excitedly. Like she was happy to know of someone semi-famous, and that she had actual gossip about their personal lives.

“Is that right?” my nostrils flared, as chick after chick approached Omari. He was taking selfies with every other female, as they swarmed him.

When he finally approached the section, he was accompanied by the light skinned chick, and the rest of Melo’s crew. Melo had gone to another section that supposedly had some well-known rappers posted up in it. With so many people in the space, it took him a second to realize that I was there. So, after shaking hands with Wale, Little Jahrein, Taz, and Wale’s cousin Craven, he approached me.

Leaning down to my ear, while his long platinum chain rested on my breasts, he asked, “What you doing here?”

  “I came to see you.”

“Of all places, you choose to come to a show in the club?”

“Yeah. It’s not like I’m doing nothing beyond sitting here.”

“But you don’t know how crazy you look, though. Belly out to here, and you posted up.”

“Okay, what you want me to do, Omari,” I snapped. “I’m here now.”

“And you fucking right.” He nodded. “You here now, but that don’t mean that I got to like the shit.”

I sat back, pulling away from him, folding my arms. I was on the verge of tears, as I felt unwanted there. He stood upright, and turned around, facing everyone else. Still, he remained right in front of me, as he mingled, basically cutting off my communication with everyone. He soon was turning up a bottle, as the section was rocking.

“Yo, he aint messing with no average chick. Pop. Pop. He got Nicki he know that he hit the jackpot…”

“Uh oh!” Taraj shouted. “Mya, this your song, girl. Get it up.” She grabbed my hand.

I attempted to stand, and Omari pushed me back down. “Nah, Taraj, she good.”

“She can’t dance with us?” she questioned.

He shook his head. “She can chill out, and sit her ass right there.”

Taraj threw her hands up in surrender. “Hey, it’s your world.”

I rolled my eyes, and shook my head, feeling lame as fuck.

Omari continued to bob his head to the music, as I thought about what was happening here. There I was eighteen, and pregnant, watching everybody else enjoy themselves. Was this what I had to look forward to from now on?

“Yall going to Onyx, after this?” the light skinned blond haired girl asked him, as she smoothly placed an arm around his waist.

Slickly, Omari removed her arm, as he nodded. “We got a party bus outside, so the whole section riding together.”

“Yeah?” she grinned. “Well, shit, I’m riding up there with yall.”

Once again, he nodded, offering no objections.

I couldn’t sit there for a second longer, feeling disrespected, so I stood up. “Excuse me.” I attempted to step around them.

Omari turned to look at me, never backing up an inch, trapping me between him and the sofa. “Where you going?”

“Over there.” I pointed to where Cavalli stood, talking to some nigga.

“Man, stop playing with me. Chill out, and sit down.”

“No.” I shook my head defiantly.

“Oh my God,” Omari’s light skinned friend giggled, as she covered her mouth. “I didn’t see her back there. Her belly is huge. What is she doing here in the club?”

Omari snapped his head around. “Can you step back a bit? I need to holler at her.”

She frowned. “Is she your girlfriend or something?”

  “Yeah,” he replied.

“Wait, when did this happen? Nobody told me that you had a girl,” she laughed harder.

“I didn’t know I had to, Sanora,” he commented, before turning his attention back to me, grabbing my hips. “Sit down, man.”

“No, move!” I barked, clearly pissed at this point.

He wrapped his arms completely around my waist, and I could smell the alcohol seeping from his pores. “You mad at me? I pissed you off?”

“Omari, get off me.” I pushed my palms against his chest.

He spoke into my ear. “Why? What I do?”

  “You know,” I fumed.

“No, I don’t. You mad because I’m concerned about my son? Huh? Is that it? What am I supposed to do? Let you galivant around with all these hard-heads here?”

“And what you expect me to do?” I shot back. “Sit here while you flirt with these silicone booty bitches?”

  “You talking about ole girl?”

“Yeah, I’m talking about ole girl.” I nodded.

He sucked his teeth. “She be booking and shit, so she got me some shows, and appearances lined up with some clubs out of town. I fuck with her on a business tip.”

“But why was she touching you like that?” I scowled.

He chuckled. “You jealous like a muthafucka, man.”

  “So!” I snapped.

He placed his palm over my mouth. “Calm down, before you fuck around and raise your blood pressure.”

I snatched his hand off my mouth. “Ion care about none of that.”

He kissed my lips. “You better care.”

I closed my eyes, as he tongued me down. By then the closing act was on the stage, but I wouldn’t have been able to tell anyone what songs were performed. Omari had me backed up against the couch, palming my booty with both hands. Drunkenly, he humped me, which had me wondering if it was something in the Cîroc, because everybody was behaving hyper sexually.

When the lights brightened, indicating that the club was closing, my panties were soaked. I prayed that nothing had leaked onto my olive green fitted dress. I was be
yond ready to head home, and fuck Omari senselessly, but those plans were shattered when Melo approached him.

“Come on, nigga. You ready? We gotta shoot to Onyx to do this hosting gig.”

“Yeah, here I come,” Omari responded, as everyone began to file out of the section. He turned to Kells, who’d joined us while I wasn’t paying attention, and Daynah. “Yall riding on the party bus, right?”

“I don’t know,” Daynah hesitated. “What would we do with our cars?”

“It’s a garage around the corner. It’s already been arranged. Everybody can park their cars there.”

“Well, shit.” Kells rubbed his hands together. “Count us in, nigga.”

I grew a little excited, since I’d never rode on a party bus before. “Where is it parked? Does it have a restroom on it, because I gotta pee?”

Omari’s facial expression changed, as he dug into his pocket. “Oh, nah, bae, you aint going. Take the Benz, and get Cavalli ‘nem to ride back home with you.” He handed me the valet ticket.

I stood there with my mouth open. “You for real? I can’t go?”

“No, man. We going to the strip club, and your pregnant ass definitely can’t go in there. They won’t even let you in.”

I frowned. “You don’t know that, and if nothing else I can sit on the bus.”

“Sit on the bus? Nah, girl, you tripping. Just take the keys, and take your ass home. I’ll be there after I finish. Shit, if I wasn’t getting paid, I wouldn’t be going there myself.”

I thought about throwing a full tantrum, but didn’t want to embarrass myself publicly. So, I admitted defeat. “Alright,” I huffed out.

“Good, good,” he mumbled, before glancing around. “Say, Cavalli, come here.”

“What’s up?” she switched over. “What yall doing? Everybody’s getting on the bus.”

“Yeah, about that.” He licked his lips.

“Omari, come on!” that light bright blonde bitch shouted from a distance.

He threw a hand up. “Okay. Hold up.” He then focused on Cavalli again. “I need you to ride back to the crib with Mya.”

“What?” she frowned, obviously not feeling that. “I’m trying to go to Onyx.”
