In his fictitious inversion of the history of popular music, Tom James has 2023: Що за хрень відбувається? secretly playing for 23 hours in a boarded-up derelict Victorian terraced house in the Dingle area of Liverpool.
Tom James and Bodashka Kovalenko got wind – via Tom’s Jura connections – of our plans to publish Двадцять Двадцять Mри! Mрилогія (The Twenty Twenty-Three! Trilogy) in English and in the UK.
Tom James and Bodashka Kovalenko contacted us.
We had a meeting with them. They showed us some remnant footage of 2023: Що за хрень відбувається? on VyTrubka. It was devastatingly brilliant. Or maybe we just allowed what we saw to grow in stature in our imagination as so little of the original had seemingly survived the collapse of the USSR. But whatever the reason, we were inspired to use elements of these few minutes of remnant footage to create our own 23-minute animated film in homage.
As yet we have no idea what we will do with our film.
What we did know was that we wanted to launch this book, now retitled simply as 2023, in a boarded-up derelict Victorian terraced house in the Dingle area of Liverpool. Maybe we should have our animated version of 2023: Що за хрень відбувається? playing on a continual loop in an upstairs bedroom of this house.
We also decided to launch this book on 23 August 2017, this being the date – as stated in the Preface to this book – when those conspiracy theorists back in the Ukraine and Russia like to believe Tat’jana and Kristina, as The KLF, will resurface from the depths of the Black Sea in their submarine.
Copies of this book will be on sale on this date in a corner shop close to the boarded-up house in the Dingle.
As for Cauty & Drummond – ‘The Undertakers to the Underworld’ – it is not known if they have started work yet on The Great Pyramid of the North.

About the Authors

The current representatives of The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu are Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond. The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu are many things. The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu are also known as The JAMs.
