Cyrosphere: Gathering of Forgotten Tales and Lives Intertwined
Chapter 1:
Ginger couldn’t believe the nerve of Piper. Ginger was raised to try and find the good in everyone. You know try to give second chances and be accepting, but Piper Sharp- Granes was the worse. Piper possibly was borne from pure evil and all her secrets would one day burry her.
The only reason she came here was to find Jensen. She couldn’t lose him too. Ginger already lost too many people, but not the one connection to her parents and their past.
Ginger wondered, “Who was Delia Kern?”
Before she could say another word Aiden, one of the dark indigos came running in speaking about a security breech. Who was ballsy enough to attack Piper? And in her home, must be someone suicidal.
A loud boom ended all conversation. Half of the ceiling came tumbling down around them. Without thought, Ginger instincts kicked in and she dove into Piper.
Her move saved Piper from the high beam that almost crushed her completely. Ginger saw that Aiden was laying unconscious under some furniture. The opportunist Piper dead would have solved so many problems, but left her no leads to find Jensen.
Debris and a few stones laid on Ginger, who had a dazed Piper under her body. A hysterical, no more like diabolical laugh filled the chaos.
A light blue dress and wavy blond hair was all Ginger saw hovering over her in the air. This must be her, Delia Kern. The only one insane enough to take on Piper without thought to consequences and I was in the cross-fire.
Wait.
This much power couldn’t come from a fairy. No, Delia was a God! The news momentarily distracted her. Ginger messed the words, but the phrase die came to mind as a fireball appeared in her hand.
I don’t know how I am suppose to face a God, but I have to try. For mom and dad, and all the others that died for power. The fireball is launched at them, but really directed at Piper. Piper, who is still half covered with my body.
Ginger thinks, “Not good.”
Without a second thought, Ginger breathing is shallow as time twist to slow down. No active thought or time to process what is occurring. Save her, get away and fight another day was running through Ginger’s mind.
Delia doesn’t seem to be affected by my time powers.
“What the fuck!” escapes Ginger’s lips as Delia creates another fireball.
Screw this. Ginger thinks as she transports them out of the rubble.
Where to go?
Who to protect?
Without a second thought, Ginger is outside the mansion. A semi-conscious Piper pushes Ginger off her body.
“Get off me you wretched girl.” Piper spats.
Ginger rolls her eyes and replies, “You’re welcome.”
Looking up to see an alert Jurnee whose rage is directed at Piper. Got to defuse the situation and fast.
“I will kill her,” Jurnee yells as the speed of her vampire strength boost up and in a split second has her hands around Piper’s throat.
Static fills the air, Piper’s eyes glow blue as electricity sparks hit Ginger without mercy.
Shit!
Ginger runs at them knocking their bodies to the grass, looking down at them ready for a flinch of movement.
“Cut out this racket. I just put the babies down,” demands Penny. Three set of eyes glance at Penny who is in the doorway with her hands on her hips, looking pissed beyond reason. As if a single movement might wake baby Ian Noel Belkins and Gabriel Spencer Braddock.
Jurnee snaps up and rebuttals, “Fine my delightful princess.”
“Sorry,” mumbles Ginger.
Piper snorts as she gets up and walks up the driveway to Penny. Jurnee and Ginger quickly follow.
“So mommie, what’s for dinner? I’m famished with my life in danger and my home under attacked. I am sure you at least have milk,” Piper smirks and waits.
Ginger waited for Penny to slap her but Penny restrained herself by balling up her fist and allowing Piper entrance. The spell melted around the house, as they all went inside.
Chapter 2:
The protection spell that Ginger helped Penny create should not have allowed Piper a mile near the house. Penny didn’t seem concerned about that compared to having a homicidal manic in her house with newborn babies.
Ginger figured since she helped make the spell, her magic allowed her special privileges like bring Piper close to the house.
“Why is she her Ginger,” Jurnee demanded.
“Yes, why am I here you irritating child. You should have let her kill me, would have saved you a ton of problems. Oh wait, you need me to help you find your precious Jensen Saunders. What is so fascinating about him that he is worth all this trouble?” Piper finishes asking.
The silence filled the kitchen as Penny handed Ginger a bottle of water and gave Piper a banana.
“What no five star dinner from stay at home witchy?” Piper snarkly commented.
Jurnee asks, “Can we kill her and get Lupio to read her or something.”
“Try it bottom feeder,” Piper snapped out angrily.
Penny states, “Enough! Ginger, I am going to call Shane why you two sort this out. Jurnee, can you check on the boys?”
Jurnee looked from Penny to Ginger to Piper before storming out.
Piper says, “Oh, she’s lovely. I see why you married her.”
She cackles as Penny leaves Ginger to talk with her on her own. Piper stops laughing when she see Ginger assessing her silently.
“Trying to figure me out? Good luck kiddo,” Piper states.
Ginger grins and takes a sip from the bottle of water. Piper ignores her and peels the banana back. She takes a bite and takes a quick look at the large size kitchen that could potentially house an entire cooking staff.
“So tell me little one, what are the rug-rats’ names?” Piper looked half interested as she took another bite waiting for an answer.
“Do you actually care?” Ginger retorts.
Piper smirks and repeats, “Wouldn’t you like to know.”
“They’re names are Gabriel and Ian, so now tell me everything you know about Delia Kern?” Ginger waits after asking.
Piper takes another bite, chews and swallows. She takes the final bite and chews but instead of swallowing she turns to the trash can and spits it out.
“We aren’t friends now just because you think you saved my life. We will forever be mortal enemies. I won’t help you.” Piper grins and gets up going to the sink where she starts washing dishes.
Ginger stands there totally stumped as Piper Sharp-Granes washes dishes. Without waiting another moment, Ginger turns and leaves to see Penny massaging Jurnee’s shoulders on the floor. Both women turn to her and before she could retreat to give them privacy, they signaled her to sit.
She seats crossed legged and w
aits for the tension she felt from talking to Piper to disappear.
Jurnee says, “She is some piece of work. Why are we protecting her again?”
“She may have some answers so we need to see how this plays out,” Ginger tells them.
Penny nods and states, “I agree, plus with Shane here any moment, we’ll be fine and not have to worry she’ll kill us.”
“Talking about little old me,” Piper announces.
The three look up to see Piper leaning against the wall, drying her hands on a dish towel and tosses it on the floor causally.
Jurnee growls and yells, “Have some manners.”
“Please, in this dump,” Piper answers.
Before Jurnee could move, the doorbell rings. Penny smiles and gets up to answer it. “I’ll get that.”
“Lazy blood sucker can’t get it?” Piper laughs and sits on the white couch regardless of dust on her clothes.
Penny walks in with Shane. Shane Joshua Tombs, handsome green-eyed comes into the room behind Penny. Piper looks up at him, trying to figure out his roll in being out-numbered by so many powerful figures.
Shane states, “So you must be the woman I heard so much about.”
Piper laughs and replies, “All lies if from the brute blood-sucker.”
Shane clarifies, “Either way you’re lovely, nice to meet you Piper. Now I am here to keep you company why these ladies head on their way. I have the baby monitored, so have fun.”
Jurnee looks at Penny, who can’t believe she’ll leave the boys alone for more then a nap. It was Ginger telling her telepathically just go with it that allowed the plan to work.
Penny smiles and answers, “Great, call us if you need anything.”
Jurnee and Penny leave after grabbing their coats. Ginger looks at an amused Piper and decides some fresh air will help her clear her mind. Maybe she can find Jensen without Piper’s aid.
Chapter 3:
After leaving the mansion, Ginger didn’t know where to go next. It wasn’t like she could talk to Lucas. Her boyfriend was at work. The apartment probably had Mark and Adorsa going at it. That was the last thing she wanted to see or hear. Stacey was still recovering, so couldn’t go to the Darkholme mansion.
A nice walk along the shore would do her some good. She ducked behind the trees in the backyard. Turning into smoke while she lifted up into the air, before flying across town towards Redondo Beach.
She transformed back into her solid form. The smell of the ocean and damp air made her lungs contract. Closing her eyes and allowing the day to sink away.
It was like mom use to say, let in the pain in small doses to control the pain, but never allow it to overwhelm you.
Everything was chaotic but nothing was out of her power to change the outcome. It was late, but not quiet seven o’clock so still some sun out. The walk through the border-walk before she ended up next to a hair salon.
Looking down to see her clothes were still dusty but she wanted a change, something tiny but within her control. Pushing her way past the draft that started five minutes ago, she rubs her arms to keep warm. Ginger goes inside to cut it all off.
I can do this.
New me, new outlook on my problems, she thought.
Chapter 4:
If this dark entity could be ingested by anyone and give them unlimited abilities to another sociopath like Feltus. No, Ginger couldn’t even fathom someone trying to unleash that much evil onto the world again.
Delia Kern, Spider Grandhorn, MaryAnne Kris, and Jensen Saunders were on her mental list. The past was coming back to haunt her with avenge. Spider wasn’t who she thought he was and neither was MaryAnne. Life was never black and white. Each day things got more complicated.
Ginger needed to shower and change. Feeling restless, she called Yvette to come pick her up on her way in from court.
Having an adopted older sister had many benefits. Twenty minutes later, Yvette saw Ginger waiting at the corner. She ran out the car still running before Ginger had an opportunity to get in the car.
Yvette smothered her with hugs and other worrying sibling statements, before pulling back to allow Ginger to breathe. Yvette stated, “Oh my God. Your hair! I love it. Shoulder length with bangs suits you, Ginger. You like you were either in a battle or rolling around in dirt. Come on, let’s go. Get you home for a hot shower and a good hot meal.”
The Prius pulled away from Redondo Beach and twenty more minutes later the girls were at the house in Westchester. Ginger looked up at the Darkholme household. It felt like a lifetime ago that Aaron brought her home after she lost everyone she loved. Well not everyone, but in that moment it felt like she did.
This was home. Ginger felt safe and the crying of baby Judy made the house feel normal after the day she had. Or as normal as you can get when your life is in constant danger.
Peter was in the kitchen warming a bottle for Judy, Stacey was bouncing Judy in her arms trying to sooth her into the bottle was ready. I rushed upstairs to get the grim and dirt off me.
After showering and changing into my old PJ’s, I sent Adorsa a text saying I was staying the night so she wouldn’t worry. Once I got downstairs, my face lite up to see Lucas there.
Lucas Faraday Catallano by far is the best man in my life. He helped me published my first book as editor at Trek publishing. Now with the second book on the printing press, I was happy with my decisions.
I got wrapped up in his hug, inhaling his woodsy scent and loving the warmth his body radiates. Being home was nice, but being here with Lucas was like serenity.
Everyone loved the hair cut, as we sat around the dinner table eating salmon, steamed brown rice and corn. While I coozied up with Lucas in the study with hot coco for him and tea for me by the warm fire.
We made out a ton. It would be too much to ask Aaron to let us sleep in the same bed under his roof. Since Stacey couldn’t into Peter married her, I see his reasoning since his daughter was a mother then marriage. At least he treated us all equal.
Chapter 5:
Ginger awoke to do her yoga after using the bathroom and freshen up. About time she was downstairs, Lucas had made waffles and French toast for everyone. Ginger gave him a smooch, before loading her plate with French toast and the syrup that Yvette made.
Nothing is better then fresh butter pecan syrup made from scratch on a hot meal. We dug in with gusto, and I was completely stuffed when I finished eating.
I needed to run on the trade mill after all that good eating, but first I needed to change into my workout gear. Peter was cleaning the dishes. Lucas and Aaron had to dash off toward work; leaving Stacey time to nap before feedings.
Making my way down to the basement, Ginger first did some heavy weight- lifting and then an hour of cardio. About time I finished, I had half-way decent plan to try and locate Jensen. Getting the adrenaline running helped me think.
It was risky but I had faith in Stan Bradshaw to make contact with spirits. Meeting Stan at the apartment since he knew how to get there and she needed to write in her journal.
While waiting for Stan, Ginger filled a few pages going over what happened the last few hours. Stan had work, so she had spent a good two hours on a new novel. Once Stan arrived, Ginger was calm and hoped this plan worked.
She didn’t have very many options. The one after this would be life-threaten, but her only choice if this failed. It didn’t take long for Stan to master communicating with spirits. He was a natural, so hopefully Danielle Harvey could help.
The former witch queen Dani had been nothing but helpful to Penny. Since she knew spirits had access to the future, was a major part of the past and could shed some light on the drama that took away Jensen.
Dani told Stan that Ginger needed to talk to the source of the problem, if she really wanted to resolve the conflict. That was not the news Ginger hoped to hear.
Sighing because that meant summoning Spider Grandhorn, that was suppose to be a last resort but looks like a necessary evil.
C
hapter 6:
After thanking Stan, Ginger left a voicemail for Lucas that she’d call later. Next she had to check on Piper which Penny and Jurnee couldn’t wait to get rid off. That phone call was not pleasant. The house was under protection and Shane kept her powers neutralized so no harm to anyone as long as he was close by.
No news from Daniel Worthington, the vampire lord. Ginger had no doubt in her mind that he was getting reacquainted with Shalice Kincaid. Same for time-traveling Oscar Whitelock who totally fell for Nikki “Nicole” Spaulding.
She left to summon Spider, so obviously somewhere in public was a must. The need to go to a park where she could enjoy nature while trying to dodge death.
Looking around at the families, Ginger hoped she was making the right decision. Would Spider kill people to prove a point or hurt innocence due to his emotional temper? These thoughts plagued Ginger’s mind as she weighed the consequences of summoning him in a public place.
