Grace Restored Page 25

by Toni Shiloh

She stared, shock immobilizing her to one spot. He pulled out a blue velvet box out of his other pocket and her stomach dropped to her feet.

“Chelle Belle, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife and walk this life with me?”

She got up from the swing and stepped closer, tears running down her face. He stood and took the ring out of the box and held it close for her inspection.

It was a love knot made of diamonds. She inhaled sharply and glanced at him, words failing her.

“It’s called an infinity ring. I got it because it reminded me of the love knot. But it’s a promise I make to you now. No matter what life throws at us, we’ll get through it together. I will cherish you until I draw my last breath.”

  “Guy,” she choked out.

He stood and cupped the side of her face, using his thumb to wipe away remnants of her tears. “I love you, Chelle Belle.”

“I love you, too.” She smiled through the tears. “And of course, I’ll marry you.”

The heart stopping grin he blessed her with, took her breath away. He leaned forward and she met his lips with her own.

The warm glow which started when he had dropped to his knee spread through her body and sealed itself upon her heart. She twined her arms around his neck as he pulled her closer, taking the kiss deeper.

He pulled away, his hands still holding the sides of her face. “I love you. I’m so sorry I was too stubborn to tell you sooner.”

She placed her hand on top of his. “No more sorrys. I forgive you. Please forgive me.”

“Done,” he rasped out. He bent his head and kissed her again.

This time, it heightened her senses. She felt dizzy from the impact of it. Loved wholly for who she was, who she wanted to be, and who she could become. She stepped closer trying to sear her love into the kiss.

He pulled away slowly and then rested his forehead on hers. “Let’s go tell the girls.”

  “Definitely.”

He smiled and took her hand as they walked side by side back to the parking lot. She grinned at him, so thankful God had used grace to restore them.

  Thank You, Lord!
