Those clear green eyes he’d fallen in love with stared at Jimmy now, filled with hope. “I’m sorry Tyler ruined your surprise, but that’s amazing. He’s right, though. That would be the perfect honeymoon.”
Eli licked his lips. The nervous gesture made Jimmy want to kiss him. “Your birthday is only a little more than a month away.”
“Is that a problem?”
The world fell away as Jimmy waited for Eli’s answer. Never in a million years would Jimmy have dreamed he would fall in love and beg someone to marry him in less than a year’s time, but here he was.
Eli shook his head. “It’s actually kind of perfect. You said you wanted to run away and keep me all to yourself on a secluded island. So let’s do it. Let’s elope and spend our honeymoon hidden away. I love the thought of making your dream come true.”
“You’ve already done that,” Jimmy said without missing a beat. It was the truth. The day Eli had shown up, money in hand, he’d done more than restore his faith in people. He’d given Jimmy hope. Maybe to the rest of the world, they were unstable and imperfect. To Jimmy, they were beautiful.
