Hex and the Single Witch

“You like that?”
“It tastes like...” Caraway. “Pussy.”
“It is.” She drew her tongue along his. “It’s Caraway and Cream. She just came on my face not thirty minutes ago.”
Alexander felt a black rage boil in his blood. Not his Caraway.
“Oh, don’t like that, do you?” she purred and wrapped her hand around his, working his shaft.
Alexander realised he was in his shadow form and the air in the room crackled with magic. He pulled on the mask again, breathed deeply and focused on the pleasure. He had no call and no right to be angry. Caraway didn’t belong—no, she did. It didn’t matter what they called it. Dating. Fucking.
Shagging. She was his.
And he was hers.
This had been a long time coming with them—the constant banter, the magical sparring had all been a manifestation of the polarity between them. When he’d had her in the Dean’s tower, it had sealed something into place. Although Alexander couldn’t name it.
It had to be a spell. Devil forbid Alexander Morningstar had come by this awfulness honestly.
Lila increased her speed and he released his cock to her ministrations. “You’re imagining her now,” she said. “Do you want to hear about how I licked her sweet cunt, or do you want to hear about how she tied me up?”
He didn’t want to hear it, yet he did. Alexander would have loved to see Lila and Caraway together. Caraway had tied her up? His cock jerked at the thought.
“Oh, you do,” she purred.
But it rankled that she’d done it without him. Not Lila— he’d never cared what sorts of games she indulged in as long as, after they married, she guaranteed all offspring would be his.
Caraway. He didn’t want her to give herself to anyone unless he was included. He wanted all of her.
“Taste her,” Lila whispered as she kissed him hard.
Alexander did. He captured Lila’s mouth to suck every bit of Caraway from her lips, her tongue—every part of her essence the witch had shared with Lila.
“Did she like it?” he growled when she tightened her grasp on his shaft.
“Yes,” Lila answered. “You can taste how much she liked it all over my face.”
Another low grumble sounded deep in his throat.
“But I know she’d rather have been fucking you again.”
The edge of orgasm he’d been reaching for slammed up and hit him hard, but he fought the sensation. He wasn’t ready to come yet. Alexander wanted to stay in the fantasy, thinking of fucking his sweet Caraway.
“She called out your name when she came.”
Lila’s words pushed him over the edge and he spilled in her hand. Yet the bliss he usually felt after release wasn’t there.
It had been simple, mechanical. Nothing like the explosion of sensation with Cara.
One time with the witch and he was ruined.
The worst part? Lila could tell. “You should talk to her about that, Alexander. Or you’re going to lose her.” She cleaned up the mess in her hand with a tissue.
“Lose her? I don’t—”
“Don’t lie to me or yourself, you sulphurous bastard. This is how it starts. First, you can’t think of anyone or anything else. You don’t want her to fuck other people...it’s a downward spiral, Alexander. I promise you.”
“And how would you know?”
“I just do.”
“What’s your angle?” he asked as he zipped up his trousers.
“My angle? I don’t want to marry you.”
He’d been ready to argue. They’d been through this. Their families expected... But he was the heir to all evil. Truthfully, Alexander didn’t give a fuck what they wanted. It wasn’t in his nature.
“But you’ll still come play with Caraway and I, won’t you?”
“You say that like you’ve got the girl.”
“I will have her. For all eternity.”
“You made that choice based on the fact you want to fuck her again?”
“I—no. But you said that’s how it starts. I don’t like being uncomfortable or feeling unnecessary things, so I will acquire her and that will be that.”
Lila laughed, a deep, throaty sound. “Then yes, Alexander. I will come over and fuck your wife for your viewing pleasure.”
The fucking part should have pleased him, but it was the word ‘wife’ he focused on. “Hold on.”
“To what, sugar?”
“Don’t be cute.”
“Can’t help it. I just am.”
“Devil damn, Lila.”
“Look, you had no problem marrying me. Why is the M-word scary when it applies to Caraway?”
“It’s not scary—” he began.
“Whatever. Word it how you must so it doesn’t poke you in the nut sac, but the question is still valid.”
“I—”
“Let me tell you. It’s because with me, you’ve invested nothing. With her, you’ll be investing everything. All of yourself. You’ve never done that with anything.”
“And I shouldn’t have to.” Alexander was horrified.
Lila rolled her eyes. “I know, it’s so unfair. But she’ll accept no less. I’m not saying propose to her right now, but that’s where you’re headed. At least, as soon as you announce our...parting of ways.”
“You’re a pain in my ass, Lila,” he sighed.
“I know. But you love me anyway.” She kissed his cheek and left.

Chapter Eleven

“We have to talk.” Alexander cornered Caraway the next day “Has Bendopolous gotten to you?”
“How so?” He narrowed his eyes.
This could be dangerous territory. But what the Hell. “You sound just like him.”
“Oh, I do? Well.” Suddenly, his stance was predatory and he leaned in to her. “If I sound like him, maybe you think I do other things like him?”
“No.” She blushed and looked at her toes.
“I wouldn’t have thought you could still blush so prettily.”
“Bastard.”
“Mind your tongue, Miss Caraway, or I will be forced to mind it for you.”
She blushed again. Damn it. She had to figure out how to stop doing that.
“So, what did you want to talk about?”
“Maybe we should talk in private?” He raised his brow at her.
“I still can’t walk right...”
“You dirty girl,” he tsked. “I really did just want to talk.”
“Oh.” Oh? Was that all she could manage? Sigh.
“What sort of spell did you cast on me?”
“What?” She was incredulous.
“I’m not angry. I’m really rather impressed. Very dark-sider of you.”
“I didn’t do anything.”
“Don’t lie to me. Why can’t I stop thinking about you?”
She was about to profess her innocence again when Lila made an appearance.
“It’s her cunny, darling. She didn’t do anything to you. You did it to her. And you want to do it again. I thought we talked about this.” She laughed, low and sultry, but patted Alexander on the shoulder as if she were some great sage and continued on her way down the hall.
“Skip class.”
“I can’t.”
The words were barely out of her mouth and she found herself flat up against a column and Alexander’s mouth within inches of her lips.
“Then I’ll have you right here.”
She giggled. Merlin help her, she giggled.
Her giggle drew looks from several passing students.
“See something that concerns you?” Accompanied by the hard stare of Alexander Morningstar, his words discouraged any further gawking. He turned back to Caraway.
She nodded, the anticipation tightening around her like a vice. Sweet Goddess, but he was beautiful. Caraway shivered, remembering his touch, his mouth and the absolute intense perfection at the moment of their jo
ining. She wanted it again and Caraway hoped he did, too. Caraway debated telling him what had happened with Lila, but she held her tongue.
He led her through a secret passage in the hall and they emerged in another Professors’ Lounge. This one obviously belonged to the Arcane Lit professors. The room was sumptuous, the walls lined with leather-bound books and oddities in jars.
Alexander dragged her against him and kissed her hard.
She melted in his arms, unsure if she was ready to take him again, but willing to try. Caraway was sure this was a limited showing, so to speak, so she should enjoy him while she could.
“Caraway.” His whisper was ragged.
She rubbed her cheek against his and slipped her hands under his polo shirt to stroke the wide expanse of his back.
“I really do want to talk, witch.”
“Then talk,” she replied, nipping at the lobe of his ear.
“Woman, I can’t think when you do that.”
“Good. Then I’m not alone.”
“No, you’re not. That’s what I wanted to talk about.”
“Look, you’ve got no right to be upset about Lila,” she interrupted. And he didn’t. He was a total whore, and—
“I’m no—am. I am. That’s why I wanted to talk.”
“What? You’re not making any sense.”
“You’re telling me.” He shook his head and kissed her again. “I want to be with you, Caraway. I can’t stop thinking about you.”
“I can’t stop thinking about you either, Alexander. On the desk, then?”
“No.”
She raised a brow.
“I mean, yes. But after. Let me say this.”
“Okay,” Caraway responded timidly. She didn’t know what he was going to say, but brimstone had ignited in her belly.
“When we were together, that meant something to me. I’m not sure what, but I want to find out.”
“What are you asking me?” Caraway demanded sharply.
She wanted to make sure she understood what he was saying, because right now it sounded like he wanted to have a relationship with her. Caraway was pretty sure when she’d got up that morning the world hadn’t come to a screeching halt. So, she had to be confused.
“Lila and I ended things yesterday. I want to see what this is between us. I want you to belong to me.”
“Oh, Alexander. I already do.”
“Not just your cunt, although tasting it on Lila’s lips was alternately maddening and delicious,” he began.
Caraway blushed.
“Be mine. All of you. Give me a chance to be yours, too.”
It was the last part that gobsmacked her. “You want a relationship with me?”
He frowned. “You’re really putting me through the wringer, Caraway. How much clearer do I have to be? Do you want me to incite a war somewhere or demand my followers sacrifice virgins in your name to prove I’m serious?”
“What about Lila and Brody and—”
“None of that matters. Not as much as you. The sex is fun, but I’d be willing to try monogamy. With you.” He shrugged.
“Or sanctioned sharing. I couldn’t stand the fact you’d been with Lila without me. I can’t promise you I’ll be a good partner, all I can promise is I’ll try.”
She sighed, although warmth had bloomed deep in her chest. “You are the heir to all evil, after all. I can’t expect too much from you.” She smiled.
“If you don’t expect too much you’ll never be disappointed.” He smirked, but the expression merged into something softer. “But you deserve to expect more than any man could give you. So it’s a good thing I’m more than a man. I’ll give you the world, Caraway.”
“Still trying to close the deal? I liked the honesty better. You can’t go from ‘I’ll try’ to ‘I’ll give you the world’.” She brushed her lips across his and she tingled from her fingertips to her toes. He wanted to be hers and she’d take him, horns and all.
“I can. I decided it just now. If it means you’ll be with me.”
“Yes, Alexander. I’ll go steady and we’ll go to prom and football games and make out under the bleachers. But I want ice cream after,” she teased.
“Smartass.”
“Better than a dumb—”
He kissed her again and bent her over the desk to show her just what it meant to belong to Alexander Morningstar.
And the witch? She took great pride in showing him how many ways he belonged to her on that very same desk.
