Cruel Crown: A Dark Romance (Sekten Book 2)

I bent once more, looking methodically with the scope, not sure what or who I was looking for. I saw a man who looked like a guard, so I passed him because if there was one thing I was sure of, it was that my target was going to be the owner of the yacht, not the help.

“Spread your legs a little more, Petal, give me room to work with,” he whispered in my ear, and because he was annoying and I wanted to shoot someone, I complied with him.

Two fingers touched my swollen clit, and I bit my lip to stop myself from moaning. He then cursed.

“Fuck, baby, you’re soaked.” He growled against my neck, sending shivers over my body.

“Keep looking,” he demanded as his fingers fucked me slowly. A fire spread through my lower belly, but for now, I ignored it.

I put my eye on the lens and moved it a little faster. There was a woman on the boat who looked like she didn’t want to be there. She looked scared. Gideon would have been forgotten if he didn’t know me so well that he knew something was wrong. He inserted two fingers deep in me, and I felt myself get wetter.

“Fuck, Petal, just keep going,” he said as he kept moving at a faster pace.

I scanned faster, trying to find my target because the faster I did, the quicker I knew I would be allowed to come.

“Murder gets you horny?” Gideon mocked, but his words were forgotten.

My heart stopped for a second.

  Gideon stilled for a moment.

Behind the lens was a man I had not seen since the night I’d had my innocence ripped out. The years had been far too kind to him. Albeit, he looked older, he still looked in excellent health. I got so enraged at seeing his face my whole body felt like it was burning up.

  He needed to pay.

“No one will hurt you again, Petal,” Gideon whispered against my ear before he gently pulled the lobe and bit it. “Kill him, baby. Show him that he’s nothing.”

And he was nothing. He did not get to keep a hold on me anymore, he had lived in my nightmares for far too long.

I looked at him through the lens, knowing I held his life in my hands, and I smiled.

“So. Fucking. Wet,” Gideon murmured as I heard him unzipping his jeans.

I looked at the Sheikh who had raped me and pulled the trigger. I didn’t look at the mayhem I had just unleashed because he was now nothing to me.

“We have a four-minute window,” Gideon said, sounding like a maniac. He took the sniper away from me and forced me to hold on to the rock.

My hands scraped against the ruggedness, but I didn’t care. Gideon pulled my pants down and smacked my ass, the sound echoing but getting lost in the altitude.

“This feels like a full circle, wouldn’t you say?” he asked as he spread my ass cheeks and put the tip in.

  “Gideon…”

  “Hmmm.”

“We’re down to three min—fuck.” I couldn’t finish my sentence when he slammed into me. My cheek hit the rock, and I pushed back against him. Gideon pulled my small braid back.

“I fucking own all of you.”

I came so hard I didn’t have it in me to disagree.

When we were done, there was a satisfied smirk on Gideon’s face.

“Why do I always end up doing shit with your cum leaking?” I said, somewhat annoyed. Gideon, however, was on cloud nine. He grinned and then put the sniper away.

“Come on, we have to go now.” Gideon extended his hand, the tattooed one that used to hold the broken crown. I looked down at it and at the petals that adorned them, and webbed between them was the S for Sekten. Not thinking twice, I took it, and we made a run for it. When he jumped, I didn’t hesitate and jumped into the water with him.

We left chaos and mayhem in our paths, but somehow we were both crazy enough to want to walk them with each other.

When we broke water, we swam to where the gold seaplane awaited for us. Gideon got on first and then extended his hand to me. He pulled me up, and that’s when I saw Enzo Toscano in the pilot seat.

“Where to now?” I asked, ignoring the fact that he’d roped Enzo, Franco’s spy, into this.

Gideon looked at me and those whiskey eyes shone with wicked mischief. “I don’t know, Petal, but as long as you’re by my side, it doesn’t fucking matter.”

And for now, that was enough, especially since we were at war. You had to live to the fullest because any day could be the last.

  The End

Thank you for sticking with me on this journey and letting me tell this story. I know this isn’t your typical HEA, but it is a HFN. Worry not you haven’t seen the last of Gideon and Daphne. To learn more about the Sekt and how to bring it down, I have to tell the story from another angle, so I hope you stick around for book three because we are going back to Chicago.
