Chapter 9

An excerpt from Dr. Spriggan’s one hour radio special, “Hoaxes and Haunts: the joke must go on.

…Some of the more interesting paranormal claims are made by more than one person. Group witnessed phenomena can spur up the greatest of hopes for those actively seeking the paranormal. If more than one person claims to having observed an unexplainable event, then it’s more probable that it isn’t some prank or falsehood. In addition, the more eyewitnesses you have the more details you’ll be able to document… unfortunately, filtering out the exaggerations and personal speculation takes some work.

I have interviewed credible and reliable sources who are so convinced that they have witnessed actual paranormal phenomena that they can pass a polygraph test with flying colors. Disappointingly, conviction does not equal authentication and I have been forced to discard these testimonies after finding probable explanations to the event the group had witnessed.

What I would give to interview a small group of people who have actually witnessed the paranormal and not some trick of the light or elaborate hoax. How would the shared experience affect them? Would it bind that group together? Would it tear them apart? Would some refuse to believe in the experience or would they all vow never to speak of the event again?

Perhaps it’s just wishful thinking but I do believe there are groups of friends, relatives or circumstantial acquaintances who have witnessed the truly unexplainable but refuse to come forth… probably for the sake of their own sanity and safety.
