Undeniably Perfect (Perfectly Imperfect Love Series Book 1)

I reach behind me, grabbing it and turning it on.
“What the…” Tabby starts as I place the vibrating egg against her clit. She groans and places her hand over mine, guiding the egg to where she wants it.
“Don’t stop,” she begs as I continue circling her clit with it. I roll her over and pull her shorts down. Her center is glistening with wetness. I move the egg down to her opening and slide it inside as I suck on her clit.
She nearly flies off the bed.
“Kent!” she screams as an orgasm claims her, her entire body trembles.
She reaches down and glides her hand up and down my shaft. I push my underwear down and she takes me in her mouth. I groan as I grasp the back of her head.
She licks my tip and takes me in her mouth. I shake from the sheer pleasure of it.
“You need to stop, kitten, or I won’t last long.”
“I’ve never given a blow job to a world champion before, so learn to love it.”
“Oh, I’m loving it, but I want to come with your tight, wet pussy milking my cock,” I murmur, my eyes rolling into the back of my head as she sucks my dick.
I’m about to let her have her way, but I’ve been dreaming about her pussy all night, and I need it right now.
I pull out of her mouth and flip her over, grasping her hips and plowing into her from behind. She calls out my name and thrusts back against me.
I lose track of time as I thrust harder and faster, chasing my release. And when she detonates around me, her muscles spasming, I lose all control and ram as far inside her as I can go. My cock twitches as I come, following her over the edge into complete and total bliss.
I lean down and kiss her shoulder. “You can give your champion a blow job after brunch,” I say with a chuckle. She giggles.
“As you wish,” she says, flipping herself over and pulling me down into a kiss.
Chapter Thirty-Five
Tabitha
I’m a ball of nerves as B-Ray does my hair in the guest room bathroom, which might as well be the master bathroom because it’s ten times bigger than any bathroom that I’ve ever had.
“Stop fidgeting,” he groans.
“I can’t help it. I’m not used to getting fancied up like this,” I protest.
“Girl, you’re gonna look killer if you just give me two more minutes.”
“Hot damn!” Lyla says at the door. I look over at her.
“What? Does it look OK?”
She laughs. B-Ray already did her hair. She looks killer in her silver dress and matching heels.
I tap my leg nervously. The Moores are all getting ready at their house. Kent, Ward, and Amery are in the study drinking god knows what, while they wait for us. Nate peeks in behind Lyla.
“Fuck, Kent is gonna drop to his knees when he sees you,” he says with a whistle. I give him a curious look.
“You know, pray to the pussy for a bit,” he says with a shrug.
I burst out laughing, and B-Ray tugs on my hair. “Hold still!”
“Yes, Mom,” I grumble and cross my arms in petulant protest. I stick my tongue out at Nate, and he smirks. Lyla elbows him in the rib, and he grunts and flicks her off.
I smile at my new friends. I can’t imagine life without them. In a matter of two months, my entire world has changed. It’s strange and new, yet exciting and fun all at the same time.
“There, all done,” B-Ray announces as he spins me around.
I stare into the mirror in total and complete shock, my mouth falling open in disbelief. I touch my face because I’m pretty sure the beautiful creature staring back at me is not me.
“It’s you, sugar,” B-Ray says. “And damn, woman, I’d almost flip teams for you.”
My red hair is artfully braided in such a way that it looks like it’s not even real. The various braids wrap around into a knot on the back of my head. I look like a medieval princess.
Except no medieval princess that I’ve ever seen has the amazing smoky eye makeup and bright red lips that I have right now. My red hair and lips are amplified by the pale blue dress I’m wearing. It’s simple, satin, and long, coming up high in the front but dipping low on my back. The back has an intricate crisscross pattern of satin twining. A twin pearl choker sits on my neck and matching earrings dangle from my ears.
“Kent is going to shit himself,” B-Rays says as he nods his approval at his masterpiece.
“B-Ray, I’m gonna need you to move in,” I announce.
Everyone laughs. “I tried that before, but as you can see, he hasn’t caved yet,” Lyla says from the doorway.
I stand and wobble a little on my heels. “I hate heels,” I moan.
“You need them tonight,” Nate points out, motioning to my long dress.
I nod my begrudging agreement as I walk out and into the hallway. Nate offers me his arm, and we head to the study. Time to go get this show on the road. I can’t wait to give the Moores the special gift that I’ve made them.
Kent
B-Ray makes trumpet sounds as he enters with Lyla on his arm. She looks beautiful. Her dark hair is pulled up and Amery’s eyes make me want to leave the room so they can have privacy.
But nothing, and I mean nothing, prepares me for what follows.
Nate walks in with Tabitha on his arm. Ward whistles and I punch him in the gut.
“Hey,” he mutters.
I walk toward them and Nate releases Tabitha as he walks over to Ward and gives him a quick kiss, murmuring something to him, but I don’t hear or see anything except the vision of the goddess in front of me.
I hold out a hand, and she places hers in it. I pull it to the side and look up and down her body.
“You look fucking edible, kitten,” I whisper for her ears only. And that blush I love starts to appear on her cheeks.
“Thanks,” she says in a low sexy voice.
I stare into her eyes, memorizing every fleck of green, blue, brown, and hazel. “You ready, because we need to go now or I’m going to rip this dress off in front of everyone and have my way with you right there on my desk.”
Her eyes widen. “Alrighty then…let’s go…” She trails off and bites her lip as she looks at my desk. Then she looks up at me from beneath those long lashes, and I almost blow a load right there as she leans in and whispers, “You can have your way with me after the gala.”
I lean in and ghost my lips over hers. “Oh, sweetheart, you have no idea what I’m going to do after the gala.”
Her skin pebbles with goose bumps, and I smirk.
She slaps my chest. “Now, now, let’s not expand that ego any farther, or you won’t be able to get in the car.”
Chapter Thirty-Six
Tabitha
The ballroom at the hotel looks amazing. There are six enormous posters of the photographs that I took flanking the room. Additionally, there are photos I took at the hospital in giant banners along the far side of the room. The shots are all candid ones of kids. Some without their hair, some hooked up to IVs, some in wheelchairs, but all of them just being kids, playing games, reading books, holding stuffed animals. I loved those shots, and I loved the kids too. The staff for the charity auction is busy at the check-in table.
Kent leans in toward me with pride in his eyes. “These photographs are amazing, Tabby .”
I blush. “Thanks.”
He pulls me against him. I gaze up into his beautiful eyes. “I mean it. You are so incredibly talented.”
He kisses me gently on my lips before letting go of me.
I excuse myself from Kent for a moment telling him to head to our assigned table, while pretending to use the ladies’ room. I look around and find Heather, the head coordinator.
She hands me four wrapped photos in frames. I can’t wait to give them to the Moores. I walk over to the table, or should I say tables. The Moores take up three of them.
I hand two of the photos to Mrs. Moore, and then turn and hand the other two to Kent. They both eye me suspiciously.
> “Go ahead, open them,” I encourage.
They both peel back the paper and Mrs. Moore starts crying when she sees the first photo. It’s a family shot that I got right before the last game of the World Series. The local paper was doing an article, and I worked with the paper’s photographer to get a special shot. It was used in the paper too, so they’ve seen it but not blown up and framed like this.
Kent stands in the middle in his uniform, surrounded by his family, extended family, friends, and then behind them in the stands are a good portion of the people living in Banneker. I smile at Mrs. Miller and Frankie in the photo as I remember running into them later that day.
“I love it,” Mrs. Moore says, wiping away a tear.
“It’s great, thank you,” Mr. Moore says, his voice choked with emotion.
Mrs. Moore places it in her lap and opens the second one. She gasps as she unveils my favorite shot of Kent. I took it that first day we met. He was telling me a story and laughed, and it was just perfect with the stadium behind him. He looks so happy.
Mrs. Moore dots her cheeks with the napkin on her lap. Then, she hands the photos to Mr. Moore and stands up, throwing her arms around me and squeezing me in a death grip hug.
“Tabby, these are amazing, my darling. I’m so proud of you,” she says. And that only makes me start crying. I can’t remember my mom ever hugging me or saying she was proud of me. I didn’t realize how much I needed that until this very second.
“Oh, don’t cry. I’m sorry,” Mrs. Moore says, pulling back.
I shake my head but can’t speak. Mrs. Moore runs her hand up and down my arm and hands me a tissue from her handbag.
“Thank you,” I whisper after a long moment.
She nods and kisses my cheek. “Once a Moore…” She trails off as Kent steps in front of her and brushes my tears away with his thumbs.
“Always a Moore,” he whispers with a warm smile. I smile back at them through my tears, taking a breath.
“I should go clean up. I’ll be right back.”
Kent grips my arms, and I look up at him. “I love the photos. Thank you so much. You know what I like most about it?”
I shake my head.
He leans in so our foreheads are mere millimeters apart. “That you are right next to me.”
I can’t help the face-splitting grin that forms. “I like that, too,” I admit, glancing down at the family photo where Kent has me tucked in against his side.
He releases me with a quick kiss, and I run off to the bathroom.
I take a deep breath as I stare at myself in the mirror. Thank god B-Ray used waterproof mascara and stain instead of lipstick. I powder my nose and take another deep breath before I exit.
The manager of the team walks over toward me as I enter the ballroom.
“Great job! These photos are great! And the one you helped set up with the paper, it’s amazing! Have you ever thought of working with a local sports team?”
I shake my head. “No, I hadn’t thought about that before.”
He hands me his card. “Well, if you are interested ever, give me a call. I know our marketing team loved working with you. I’m sure they’d enjoy having you as part of the team.”
I smile and thank him before heading back to the table.
“Do you like it?” I ask Kent as I sit down next to him.
He wraps an arm around me as he gazes into my eyes. “It’s perfect, just like you.”
I blush again.
“OMG, you guys need to stop that, you are too fucking cute,” Kylie says.
“Kylie!” both Mr. and Mrs. Moore scold.
She rolls her eyes. “Whatever, anyhow, when do you give your speechie thing, KJ?”
“In about an hour,” Kent says, glancing at Lanie who is talking to Clark.
Di’s the only other one with a date, some guy named Brad, who she has monopolized since they arrived. The Moores don’t seem to care though, they all just keep on chatting with each other.
Kylie leans over and starts telling me this brilliant idea she has for a fashion magazine, and I quickly get sucked into her thoughts, before I know it the head of the gala event is tapping on the microphone.
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I’m Heather Martinez, and I’m honored to be here tonight on behalf of the Hospital for Children to present awards to six of our most esteemed donors. Each of these individuals goes above and beyond in giving back to our hospital and also providing additional support, such as their John Hancocks on some very nice photographs by local photographer, Tabitha Crane. Make sure you place your bids on those, folks! I hear Kent Moore’s is getting particularly popular,” she says with a wink toward Kent, who blushes.
“I’d like to call up our six ambassadors to receive an award from the hospital at this time,” she says as Kent and five other people that I’ve come to know as clients all proceed to the stage. There’s a local congressman, an anchor for the local news, a professor, an actress who grew up in the area, and CEO of a major company that’s headquartered just outside the city. They all have ties to the hospital in one way or another. Heather presents awards to each of them and poses for photos, letting them each say a few words.
“And now, I’d like to present the ambassador award to Kent Moore. I’ve asked him to say a little something about our hospital as it has been an important place for his family. So please, help me welcome Kent Moore, our local World Series champion pitcher.”
Kent nods graciously as every stands and claps. Nate hoots and Ward elbows him, making me laugh. Kent clears his throat as everyone sits back down.
“Thank you, Heather. It’s an honor for me to be here tonight. The Hospital for Children has played an integral part in the lives of my family members. As some of you know, my sister had a common form of childhood cancer when she was seven. Thanks to the quick actions of the doctors at the hospital and the excellent care they provided her, she was declared cancer-free a mere year later. I can’t imagine my life without Lanie. And I know for so many other families, they can’t imagine their lives without their beloved children either.” He pauses and looks at his family, all of whom have tears running down their cheeks, even Clark brushes away a single drop from his cheek.
“I’m happy to announce that I’ve partnered with our team for next season. We will be providing special t-shirts to fans who pre-order them, and all the profits will go to the hospital’s fund that supports families with sick kids staying at the facility. For every t-shirt purchased, the team will donate an equal amount to the fund as well. So, thank you again to everyone at the hospital for all their hard work.”
Everyone stands and applauds again, as Kent walks down into the arms of his family. He hugs Lanie last and lifts her off the ground as she nuzzles her face into the crook of his neck and whispers something. He kisses her cheek and sets her back down. She smiles up at him and pats his cheek and he laughs at whatever she’s said. I snap a quick photo of them with my phone because the moment is too precious. I send it out in the family chat with a “nice speech” message.
The family chat. I’ve been added to the real Moore family chat since the day after the World Series. I can’t even believe I’m so lucky to have found Kent, let alone be made an honorary member of his amazing family.
Kent
As the evening comes to an end, I lead Tabitha out to side balcony overlooking the city. I need to rip off this Bandaid and tell her how I feel.
“What’s wrong?” she asks, looking at me with concern in her eyes.
I shake my head and cup her jaw, running my thumb over her cheek. She leans against my touch, while gazing up at me with those mesmerizing eyes.
“Absolutely nothing. Everything is perfect.”
“Then, why do I feel like you have something very serious to say to me?”
“Because I do.”
She tries to step back, but I grip her arms. “Tabitha…I…” I trail off as I look at her. I swallow my fears. If I can fucking win the World Series,
then I sure as fuck can tell this woman how I feel. “I love you.”
Her entire body goes still. She doesn’t speak for the longest moment. I nearly panic at the length of the silence between us.
It’s the giant grin that slowly stretches across her face that has me sighing with relief. “I love you, too.”
I pick her up and spin her around. She laughs as she grips my shoulders.
“Thank god. I was worried you weren’t ready to say that or would feel weird about me saying it,” I ramble.
She places a single finger over my lips as I set her back down on her feet. “If someone would have told me a few weeks ago, that I’d fall madly in love with a ball player, I’d have laughed in their face. Yet, here I am, madly in love with a ball player, a world champion ball player.” She pauses and smiles. “And I can’t deny it any longer, Kent. I love you.” She looks out at the city. “I love Kent Moore!” she yells.
I chuckle and squeeze her against me as I crush my lips to hers.
Chapter Thirty-Seven
Kent
I can’t believe it’s been a month since the gala, a month of nights with Tabby. I can’t get enough of her. She even talked me into getting my first tattoo in honor of the World Series win. Then she talked all the Moores into getting a special “M” tattoo. She’s changing me, a little step at a time, every day, she’s making me a better person. It’s off-season now, so we’ve spent an insane amount of time together. We’ve visited our family beach house on the shore. I find out more and more about her every day. She keeps teasing me that she has more layers than a Smith Island Cake.
We just got back from our week vacation and now it’s time to show her my secret project that I started over a month ago. I had to call in a lot of favors to get it done so quickly, thankfully I’m friendly with the permit office for the county. I walk up behind her while she’s washing dishes at the kitchen sink, and I wrap my arms around her, breathing in her scent.
“I have something to show you.”
“OK…” she says as she turns and raises an eyebrow.
