Good lord, I’d never been kissed like this before.

  Ever.

I thrust my tongue into his mouth, unable to get enough of him. He tasted of whisky and mint and I wanted to devour him.

Sundance broke the kiss, dropping his forehead to mine. “You keep makin’ those noises, I’m gonna fuck you right here, right now.”

I licked my lips as I tried to catch my breath. “What noises?”

He smiled. “Like you haven’t been fucked in a long time and are desperate for me.”

“Well, you just totally ruined that moment,” I retorted.

“Bullshit.” He kissed me again, quickly this time, then stroked my cheek. “You’re gonna need to break your date with the doctor.”

  “Why?”

  “Because I don’t share.”

“What’s that got to do with anything?”

He studied me for a few tense moments. “The second I bury my dick deep inside your cunt, Dimples, it belongs to me.”

“That’s good to know,” I retorted. “Hope you’re patient.”

He growled, kissing me again as he lifted me and guided my legs around his waist, keeping me pinned against the door. Jebus, the man was strong. I couldn’t breathe. But not because he was crushing me. Because I was starting to trust him.

“Wait, Sunny. I need a minute.”

  “Fuck!”

“I should be allowed to say no,” I said, misunderstanding his frustration.

He shook his head. “It’s not that, Dimples.”

  I relaxed. “Oh.”

He grinned. “You called me Sunny. My dick took notice.”

I was still up against the door, my legs wrapped around him, so I looped my arms around his neck and stroked the back of his head. “Teddy calls you Sunny.”

  “Not the same.”

“No one’s ever called you Sunny?”

“Nope.” He grinned. “I like it.”

I dropped my forehead to his. “I have no idea what to do with you.”

  “I’ve got a few ideas.”

“I’m thirty-five years old. I’m too old to be thrown up against the wall and kissed to the point of no return,” I breathed out.

He frowned. “Who the fuck says?”

  “My catechism classes for one.”

  “You’re religious?”

“Not anymore, no,” I admitted. “Let me down.”

  “I like you here.”

“I can’t have a conversation with you like this, though.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Who said I wanted to have a conversation?”

I cupped his cheeks and smiled. “You want into my pants, Sunny, we’re gonna need to have a couple of conversations.”

He sighed, kissing me quickly, then set me on my feet.

“What do you need to know?” he asked.

“Um, are you married? Divorced? Currently seeing someone? You might not share, but would you expect me to? I won’t, just to be clear.” His mouth twitched, but I continued before he could say something sexy that would make me kneel before him and offer myself like a virgin would to a volcano, “Why me? Is your club like the Hells Angels? What—”

  “Why you?” he interrupted.

  “Yes. Why me?”

He smiled. “Because you love with your whole being, you’re easy to talk to, and you’re sexy as hell, to name a few. But let’s roll back to why you’re not religious anymore.”

“My mother spent her life convinced God was going to heal Teddy. Even on her deathbed, she was praying for him. Then, when she died, Dad realized he could not deal with him alone and institutionalized him. If I hadn’t stepped in, Teddy would be in some state hospital tied to a bed permanently and drugged up, oblivious to everything around him. So, yeah, I don’t see much value in a god that would put someone in the world just to suffer. And not just Teddy, but the Teddys of the world.”

  “How old’s Teddy?”

“He’s forty. My parents weren’t planning on having more kids after him. I was a surprise and Dad still hoped for another boy.”

“Is this why you don’t get teased much?”

“That and the nature of my job. I’m a fixer, so if I came in joking and teasing, particularly as a woman, I wouldn’t be taken seriously.” I sighed. “My parents didn’t have much levity in their lives either. Sweet and lovable, but not particularly interested in anything funny. We didn’t have television growing up, until Mom died, actually, and by then, I was out of the house and trying to build my career. So, until I met Ripley, I didn’t really know about comedy.”

  “That’s sad, baby.”

I nodded. “Yeah, I guess it is a little. I’m trying to make up for it now, but a lot of stuff goes over my head,” I admitted.

“I get the sadness thing,” he said.

  “Oh?”

He stroked my cheek. “My wife was murdered.”

  I gasped. “What?”

“Ten years ago. Hit by another club.”

I suddenly felt sick. I pushed at his shoulders, but he didn’t budge.

“Need you to hear this,” he said, stroking the pulse at my neck.

I met his eyes, my heart racing.

“You’re the first woman who’s made me want more since Morgan died. I don’t know how far this will go, but I want to explore it. So… widowed, not currently seeing anyone, neither of us will share, and my club is a one-percent club, yes, but that’s all the information I’m giving you on that front.”

  “One-percent means criminal, right?”

  “Not necessarily.”

  I raised an eyebrow.

“We take care of our own, Dimples, whatever that takes.”

“Murder?” I whispered, and he kissed me.

“We’re done talkin’ about the club.” He released me and I suddenly felt bereft. “Anything else you wanna know?”

  I shook my head.

“You gonna explore this with me?”

  “I don’t know,” I admitted.

  “You need some convincing?”

I put a hand out to ward him off as he approached. “Come any closer and I’ll lose my resolve.”

“Why the fuck do you need resolve?”

“Call it preservation of my heart and sanity. And… Teddy.”

He smiled. “I’m gonna wear you down, baby.”

“I don’t know that I can handle you wearing me down,” I said. “You, and your lifestyle, are a lot to process, and as much as I appreciate you being honest with me, I’m not sure I belong here.”

  “Why not?”

“Because I need safe surrounding me and Teddy.”

  “You mean, good.”

“No, I mean safe. I already know you’re good.”

“Oh, really?” he asked, his expression one of amusement. “How so?”

  “You funded Arianna’s show.”

He frowned. “Who told you that?”

“No one. I overheard her talking to her mother about it in the bathroom. So, the fact you don’t want anyone to know that you’re a patron of the arts proves you’re a multi-layered person. And that particular layer is good. It’s very, very good.”

He sighed. “Well, don’t saint me too soon, baby. That was all Morgan.”

“Which is more proof,” I said. “You are carrying on the wishes of your deceased wife. Another layer of good.”

“So, why are you talking yourself out of exploring this with me?”

  “Because you scare me.”

“You just told me all the ways you like me, how could I possibly scare you?”

I swallowed trying to decide if I should tell him the truth. “Because I could fall in love with you and that would break me.” I pulled open the door and made my escape, rushing to where Teddy was still playing pinball, Orion and Raquel urging him on.

  Sundance

  Fuck me.

Sassy and strong Wyatt I could handle. Vulnerable Wyatt was a whole other animal that almost brought me to my knees.

  Jes
us, she was beautiful.

And she might have resolve, but I had grit and determination, the likes of which beat cancer, so if this woman thought she had a snowball’s chance in hell of warding me off, she was gravely mistaken.

  Pun intended.

TWO WEEKS LATER, I sat at my desk and pretended to stare at the company stats on my screen. I was supposed to be doing due diligence for the new business that wanted to sign with us, but I kept drifting off into a trance instead. I’d gone out to dinner with Dr. Hilliard the Friday before and the evening spent with Justin, as I had been ordered to call him, had been nice. But that was all it was. Nice.

Easy conversation that often lapsed into talking about Teddy, and a familiarity born of seeing the man every week for several years. He bored me. Don’t get me wrong, he was a very nice man. Gorgeous, even, but he didn’t have salt in his dark hair, or a beard, or muscles with veins for days, and he certainly didn’t make my body thrum the way one kiss from Sundance did.

No one did anything for my body like Sundance did. I mean, that I knew of anyway. The kiss at the compound had been the only one we’d shared, but I’d gotten a lot of mileage out of it. As had my vibrator. I’d had to replace the batteries twice on that sucker, and that had never happened before.

“Wyatt,” Ripley called as she knocked on my door.

“Come on in,” I said, breaking out of my trance and focusing on her.

  “Your two o’clock is here.”

  I frowned. “I have a two o’clock?”

“Have you not checked your calendar today?”

I sighed. “I did, but my mind doesn’t work when Calvin’s not here.”

My assistant, really my right arm, was out sick today, and I tried really hard not to fall apart when he wasn’t in the office, but most of the time, I failed miserably.

Ripley smiled. “I’ll grab him for you.”

  “Okay, honey, thanks.”

I pulled up my calendar and bit my lip. Full Moon Farms.

Crap. I didn’t work with farmers and I’m not sure how this person, or persons, had gotten through. I was a fixer and farmers were typically hard-working folks who tried to do right by people.

I was going to have to let them down gently.

Ripley knocked again, pushed my door open and stood back while I rose from my chair and looked up.

  Then froze.

Sundance, in all his biker glory grinned and walked into my office. “Ms. Bates.”

  “Ah…”

“This is Thorne Graves,” Ripley supplied, and I glanced at her.

She mouthed, “Oh, my god, he is hawt,” then left us and closed the door.

“What are you doing here?” I demanded.

“Careful, Dimples, your office is watching. Shake my hand and pretend we’re meeting for the first time.”

I glanced out the windows of my office, and sure enough, all eyes were on us.

I shook Sundance’s hand and waved to the chair across from me.

“What can I do for you, Mr. Graves?” I asked as we both took our seats.

“Well, what I’d really like is to strip you bare, run my tongue over every inch of you, and eat your pussy, but since you’ve been avoidin’ my calls for close to two weeks, I’ll start with an explanation.”

I shifted in my seat, trying to ease the ache his words caused between my legs. “I’ve been busy.”

  “No, you’ve been ghosting.”

I frowned. “You have no idea—”

“You need to smile, baby, so your office thinks you’re having a very nice, professional meeting.”

I licked my lips and softened my expression. “I told you at your club what I was feeling.”

“And I heard you. But we can’t get past it if we don’t see each other, or at the very least, talk.”

I glanced at my screen. “You made up a fake business to see me?”

  “It’s not fake.”

I raised an eyebrow. “Full Moon Farms?”

“I grow and distribute cannabis. Orion and I, along with the club, also own about a dozen stores around Denver, Colorado Springs, and Monument.”

  I gasped. “You do?”

  “Yeah.”

  Wow, that surprised me.

“You know I don’t really handle respected companies,” I said. “I’m more of a fixer.”

“Yeah, don’t really give a shit,” he said. “I wanted to see you.”

Well, that was kind of nice.

  “Sunny,” I breathed out.

“Jesus, woman, do you want me to fuck you on your desk?”

I forced back a laugh. “Honestly, yes.”

He closed his eyes for a few seconds, then focused on me again. “I would have no problem taking you in front of your staff, Dimples, so maybe watch your words until we’re somewhere private. Unless, you’re into that.”

  “No,” I whispered.

“Right. So, this is what’s gonna happen. I’m gonna meet you at your place at six. I’m gonna bring dinner. Chinese. We’re gonna eat, then I’m gonna fuck you. So hard, you won’t be able to walk tomorrow.”

  I shivered. “I don’t know if—”

He shook his head. “We’re not doin’ that, baby. We’re gonna try this for a while and see if it suits us.”

  “I have Teddy tomorrow.”

Sundance leaned forward, his elbows on his knees. “So?”

I licked my lips, my heart racing with excitement. “So, I need to be able to walk.”

He dropped his head back and laughed. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

  “I’m scared.”

“I know you are. I got you.”

I bit my lip. “Please don’t break me,” I whispered.

He glanced around my office. “You got drapes you can close?”

  I shook my head.

  “Shit.”

I smiled. “See you at six.”

  “Five-thirty,” he countered.

  “What?”

  “I’ve decided I can’t wait ’til six.”

  “I have a job,” I pointed out.

  “What time are you done?”

  “My last appointment’s at three.”

  “Okay, four, then.”

  I chuckled. “I can’t leave at three-thirty. I’ll see you at six.”

  “Five.”

  “What happened to five-thirty?”

  “Okay, five-thirty.”

I groaned. “I see what you just did there.”

He grinned and I nearly lost my panties. “I might be early.”

I sighed. “I’ll try and leave at four-thirty.”

“Great. I’ll see you at five.”

  “You are impossible.”

“To resist,” he retorted. “I’m glad you’re figuring that out, Dimples.”

He rose to his feet, so I did too, moving out from behind my desk. Reaching out his hand, he smiled as I slid my hand into it. “I’m looking forward to peeling you out of your clothes and exploring every inch of your body. I’m thinkin’ I’m gonna start with your tits and move down to your pussy, but you let me know if you want me to start between your legs and I’ll oblige.”

  “Stop,” I hissed.

He chuckled. “You’re wet right now, aren’t you?”

“I think you need to leave.”

He gave my hand a squeeze before releasing it. “I’ll see you soon.”

I nodded and walked him out, watching him climb on his bike and ride off. I headed back to my office and was cornered by Ripley as she closed my office door, sitting in the chair Sundance had just vacated.

“Holy shit, woman, please tell me you signed him.”

I rolled my eyes. “He doesn’t need a fixer. I explained that we couldn’t help him and referred him to Miller and Walker,” I lied.

“Well, I could help him…out of those jeans.”

  “Ripley, settle.”

“My vagina is empty, Wyatt. Lonely. It could use a good…whatever Thorne Graves might have
to offer.”

It was so weird to hear him called ‘Thorne,’ but sexy all the same. “Out,” I ordered. “Shoo! I have to get ready for my three o’clock.”

She wrinkled her nose as she stood. “You’re no fun.”

I laughed. “Go do some work. I’m going to try and get out of here after my meeting.”

“The great Wyatt Bates is leaving early? I think that’s a first.”

I smiled. “I’m taking your advice.”

  “About damn time.”

Ripley left me and I muddled through the rest of my day, unable to stop thinking about what Sundance planned to do to me.

  * * *

I managed to sneak out at four-ten, heading to my condo with just enough time to tidy up and shower. I dressed in yoga pants and a long-sleeved T-shirt. Easy access because I needed this as much as Sundance did, and I called down to the front desk to let them know he’d be arriving and was allowed to come up without calling me.

Which he did. At four forty-nine. I pulled open my door and found myself pushed up against my wall and kissed to the point of not caring about the bags of food Sundance had just dropped on the floor.

  “Food or my dick?”

“Your dick,” I panted out. “Definitely your dick. But put the food in the fridge.”

  “Show me where.”

I led him into the kitchen where he set everything in the fridge, then wrapped an arm around me and kissed me gently. “Bedroom?”

  “End of the hall.”

  “Roommate?”

“No,” I said, in between kisses. “Just me.”

He lifted me and I wrapped my legs around his waist, as he carried me back to my bedroom and dropped me gently on to the bed.

He didn’t waste any time, tugging my pants down my legs, panties included, and burying his face between my legs.

“Oh, god!” I cried out, my fingers sliding into his hair. My pussy hadn’t felt this good in… well, ever.

His mouth felt incredible, his beard creating more friction against my already sensitive private parts, and then his tongue slid inside of me and I dug my heels into the mattress, arching into his mouth. When his lips closed around my clit, sucking gently, I lost control and cried out as I came.

  And came.

  And came.

As my body tried to process what had just been done to it, Sundance knifed off the bed, pulled condoms out, then stripped completely, his cock the size of my arm.
