3. David and Angela had a complicated relationship. Do you think they really loved each other? Why did Angela allow her husband to stay home and do nothing? Was his inertia partly her fault? Was it her way of controlling him? Can a marriage sustain itself based on memories?
4. Detectives McQuillan and Blalock hit a lot of dead ends during the investigation. How realistic do you think that is — do police solve crimes by diligent digging or is it through dramatic Ah-Ha moments?
5. The person who got Eliza Stern pregnant had their reasons. How do you feel about what that person did? Were they totally in the wrong? Did that person deserve the ending they got?
6. Reporter Tommy Devlin, supplies some comedic relief in the story. Do you think his invasiveness and self-promoting personality is representative of media today?
7. Sadly, cases of elderly, disabled or incapacitated patients being sexually or physically abused is not a one-time event. Incidents of sexual assault like this have been reported all over the world. Why do you think someone would do something like this and why haven’t systems been put in place to prevent this?
8. Do you think David and Eli will be able to move on and lead a normal life after what happened?
