Quarantined With the Lumberjack (Locked Up Together Book 2)

As soon as he managed to get the door open, he carried her to the bed and dropped her on it. She looked up at him with a hunger he’d never seen before.
He had to know.
“How long has it been?”
He expected her to play coy or play dumb or to give him the run-around, but she didn’t. She gave it to him straight, and he appreciated that more than she would ever probably know.
“Two years, six months, and three days. You?”
“Two years, twelve months, 365 days.”
“That’s four years,” she said.
“You’re a quick study. Get naked.”
He pulled his own clothes off and tossed them aside. By the time he was completely naked, she was, too. He didn’t even have to wait to see what she would do because she threw herself at him quickly, eagerly, wonderfully. She wrapped herself around him like a blanket, and it was all he could do not to come apart right there.
Brody wasn’t going to rush this even though he wanted to. He wanted to lose himself in her. Life hadn’t always been easy, and things weren’t going to start being easy now just because they were locked up together. He wanted her all to himself, and he wanted her now, but he was going to make sure that she was satisfied, too.
There wasn’t going to be any ruining this for them. Not in this shared moment.
“Lie down,” he said to her, and he was surprised when she obeyed instantly. He liked that. He didn’t have to argue with her or trick her. He didn’t have to convince her that he was going to give her pleasure. Somehow, she seemed to know, and he liked that more than words could express.
She was lying there, sprawled out for him like a delicious feast, and he climbed on the bed with her. He started at Luna’s neck, kissing and licking her. He made his way down her body painfully slowly. She groaned, arching up at him, but he wasn’t going to be rushed.
“Patience,” he growled at her.
“More,” she responded.
He nipped at her breast, nibbling her skin gently, and she groaned. Brody felt a deep sense of satisfaction rocking through his body as he continued to move over the pretty girl beneath him. He made his way down between her legs and started kissing her there. He wasn’t terrible surprised when she pushed her hips up toward him.
She might not have been fucked in awhile, but she hadn’t forgotten how.
There was nothing to Brody quite as sweet as kissing a girl he liked, and Luna was no exception. She was soft and sweet, and every part of her body was so damn perfect he could barely handle it.
He licked, teasing her soft pussy until she was coming apart beneath his mouth. His cock was so hard he could barely take it, but he planned to take every ounce of pleasure from her that he could. As soon as she collapsed back against the bed, he climbed up over her and kissed her lips.
“You’re perfect,” he whispered.
He didn’t mean to say it. It was such a sweet endearment, and something he’d usually save for someone he was wildly in love with, but he couldn’t seem to help himself. She was perfect, and as far as he was concerned, she was the best thing to happen to him in a very long time.
“Please,” she whispered. “I need you.”
“Tell me.”
“Inside me.”
“Beg me,” he whispered, biting her ear. He wanted to hear her whimpering, crying out for him. He wanted to hear her asking him over and over. Brody wanted to know that Luna couldn’t handle living another damn second without his cock inside of her, and she didn’t disappoint him.
“Please fuck me, Brody,” she whispered.
He couldn’t resist any longer. He grabbed a condom from the nightstand, sheathed himself, and slid inside of her. She was tight and sweet and so damn wet for him.
“Fuck,” he groaned.
“It feels really good,” she murmured.
“You feel incredible,” he told her honestly. He didn’t usually speak very much during sex. He was more of the strong silent type. Or maybe he wasn’t. Maybe it was because all of his former partners had hated hearing him make any noises at all during their lovemaking. One of his girlfriends had been very religious and nervous: too scared to let anyone know she had even thought about fucking, much less that she’d actually done it.
Luna wasn’t like that, though.
He didn’t know her at all, yet he could tell that when it came to her sexuality, she felt free. She exuded confidence and comfort. Although they were exploring new territory, she wasn’t afraid, and for that, he was thrilled. He loved the way she arched her back, thrusting her breasts forward. He loved the way she felt under his hands.
He loved everything about what they were doing, and he wanted more.
As they made love, he whispered to her. He kissed her. He nipped at her. What had started out as being a hard fuck had somehow morphed into something else.
Something sweet.
He wasn’t sure what he thought about that.
When Brody came, he murmured her name and bit her ear. She groaned, squeezing him tightly, and when it was all over, he held her for what seemed like hours. She snuggled up to him in the darkness of his room, and he felt her hand on his chest.
“That was…”
“Wow.”
“Exactly,” she whispered.
“It’s not something I usually do,” he said. He didn’t owe her an explanation, but he felt like he did. He wanted her to know that this was special. Yeah, it probably sounded totally cliché, and it kind of was, but this wasn’t something he was normally into.
He was more of a total commitment kind of person.
He wasn’t someone who just gave it up when he saw someone attractive.
Then again, maybe he was. Wasn’t that what he was doing right now? He was giving it up to her. She hadn’t asked for this – for any of this – yet he was giving himself over to her just on a whim.
He didn’t regret it, but Brody didn’t really understand the strange connection he felt to Luna.
And he didn’t know how he was going to survive the next couple of weeks with her in his house.
Chapter Five
When Luna woke up the next day, it took her a few minutes to figure out where she was. She stretched, sprawling out on the big bed that was covered in pillows and blankets. It felt nothing like the uncomfortable motel beds she’d been sleeping in as of late. No, this bed was much different.
Softer.
Bigger.
More wonderful.
And it was more filled with naked men than her motel beds had been, she realized. She rolled over and saw him there: the lumberjack.
It all came rushing back to her, then.
There was a virus, and they’d been quarantined. The whole town had. She didn’t know who in town had gotten sick or what life was going to look like in the future, but she knew that for the next two weeks, she was going to be getting sex on demand, and she wasn’t really sure how she felt about that.
She was sore.
All of her body hurt.
Despite the fact that she’d slept better than she had in years, every bit of her body ached. From her pussy to her toes to her damn ears, her body had been used and worked over and over and over again.
She’d liked it, too.
After the first time, they’d showered together and then fucked in there, too. She’d been surprised that he’d been ready to go again so soon. After that, they’d curled up and passed out together in bed. They’d slept together again in the middle of the night, but they hadn’t really talked.
She still didn’t really know anything about Brody at all. He was a lumberjack, okay. She knew he had a really nice grandmother. He was a good kisser and he made her entire body feel like it was coming to life.
Those were the things that Luna knew about this man she’d chosen to spend her time with, but she wasn’t sure if that was going to be enough.
The reality was that he was a stranger to her, and she should be afraid of him, but she wasn’t. She looked at him for a long minute.
It wasn’t polite to stare, but Luna didn’t care. He couldn’t see her now to judge her, and that was fine. He really was pretty. Even in the morning light, he was lovely to look at: big and muscular. She knew he spent most of his time doing physical labor, and it showed.
She slipped out of bed and quietly walked over to the bathroom. She used the toilet and washed her hands, and then she looked in the cupboards under the sink. She was only slightly surprised to find a spare toothbrush that was still in its original packaging.
She had the feeling that Brody was the kind of guy who was prepared for anything. She opened it, brushed her teeth, and then left the bathroom and bedroom. She walked around his cabin and explored for a little while. She didn’t think that he’d mind. After all, she was going to be living here for two weeks. She’d have to see his place eventually.
Once she was satisfied that she understood the layout of his house – from his office to his gym to his guest room – she settled down at the kitchen counter with her laptop and started to type. She wanted to type up the transcript from her conversation with Caroline yesterday. It was one of the last things she needed to do before she’d really feel like her thesis was complete.
Oh, she had a couple of additional quotes to insert and she needed a few more references to incorporate throughout the paper, but overall, she was quite thrilled with her progress and she thought her advisor was going to be, too.
It was a pity that Luna couldn’t go back to school like, now, but she understood what was going on. Her advisor had emailed her and let her know that everyone was getting an extension on their papers because of what was going on. Stores were closing down, roads were shutting down, and even some schools were closing. It was an awkward time for people to be stuck at home, but fortunately, most of what Luna needed to do could easily be completed right on her laptop.
She kept typing and soon, she got into a wonderful groove. She was impressed with herself for sticking with this for so long. It would be easy to give up and stop, but she wasn’t going to let herself. She typed for what felt like hours, and finally, when her stomach started rumbling, she decided to find something to eat.
They hadn’t talked about this part of the arrangement last night: food. Was she allowed to eat his food? Was she supposed to go buy groceries she would keep in her own little space? Was food something they’d share the cost of? She just didn’t know. She walked to the fridge and stared at the handle.
Suddenly, she heard his voice.
“It won’t bite you.”
She spun around, and there stood Brody: big, tall, dominating. His presence, even in the daytime, was completely overwhelming.
“What do you mean?” She managed to ask. The words were hot and difficult to get out. She wasn’t really sure how to express this to him. She was too busy looking at his bare chest, at his abs, at his…
Well, he hadn’t gotten dressed.
And he seemed happy to see her.
“The fridge won’t bite.”
“Oh, that,” she looked back at the fridge.
“Are you hungry?”
“I didn’t bring any food.”
“What?”
“I don’t have food with me,” she said, blushing. She wasn’t really sure how to be anymore clear. She couldn’t expect him to pay for her food, too.
He glared at her, furrowing his brows.
“Luna, I’m not a fucking monster. Just eat what you want.”
“I…I’ll pay you back,” she squeaked out, and he stalked across the kitchen to her, grabbed her hair, and yanked it back.
Then he kissed her deeply, passionately, wonderfully. He kissed her until she forgot that she’d been hungry at all. He kissed her until her stomach growled again and brought her tumbling back to reality.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “I just…this is all new to me. I wasn’t sure how it worked.”
“It’s new to me, too,” he said. “We’ll figure it out together. Luna, I’ve got plenty of food, and plenty of money. You’re welcome to stay as my guest, but know that I’ll never expect anything from you.”
“Why not?” She asked.
It didn’t seem fair to him that he wouldn’t get anything in return.
“Because I get to spend time with you,” he said simply, and then he shrugged, as though it was the simplest thing in the world to understand.
And that was the moment she realized that he meant it. He’d thought she was interesting, and he was curious about her, and he liked spending time with her just as much as she liked spending time with him.
So instead of arguing, and instead of selling herself short, she kissed him again. She kissed him over and over until he lifted her up, carried her to the counter, and spread her legs.
“Again?” She whispered, laughing. She didn’t know if she’d ever get tired of this: the random lovemaking sessions in every part of the house. They still had the living room, the guest room, and the gym to make love in. They hadn’t gotten those places yet.
“Again,” he growled, and he thrust inside of her.
She held onto his shoulders as he fucked her, driving into her over and over again, and when she came, she felt like her heart was exploding right along with her body.
Chapter Six
She was dedicated to her work, he realized, and the project she was working on was something very important to her. Luna had barely looked away from her computer since she’d arrived at his house, and it had been three days.
The two of them had settled into a strange sort of routine. He still had work to do, and he had to check on his grandmother. Each morning, he’d go by his grandmother’s place and check on her and Whiskers. The two of them were always fine, but he felt better physically checking on them, rather than just calling. Of course, Grandma wanted to know about Luna, and the most Brody would give her was that the girl was fine, because she was.
She was fine.
Besides, Grandma didn’t need to know she’d spent most of their time together nestled beneath his body crying out from pleasure. That wasn’t the sort of thing you told your grandmother.
At work, Brody was the only one coming in. Everyone else had places to be and families to take care of. With the virus, people were supposed to avoid going out and about as much as possible, but Brody had a lot of office work he could do on his own. Perhaps the strangest thing about his job was just how much paperwork he actually had.
If he could spend all of his time around work and working with his hands, he would. He didn’t particularly care too much about forms and that sort of thing, but the work had to be done.
When he got home, he’d greet Luna at the door and immediately fuck her. He’d had her over the couch, on the porch swing, and even on the hood of his SUV. He’d made love to her in the shower and on the stairs and once, they’d even fucked in his gym.
He couldn’t keep his eyes or his hands off of her, and he was already dreading the way he was going to feel when things went back to normal.
He didn’t want them to go back to normal.
He didn’t want that at all.
He only wanted her.
Luna was the kind of girl who got under your skin. If you let her, she’d eat you up alive, and he didn’t really know how he’d handle that. She had wormed herself into his brain and he couldn’t stop thinking about her. It had already been a few days, and he felt like their time was running out.
What was he going to do when she went back to school?
What was going to happen to him then?
He liked having her around, he realized. Being alone had been nice for awhile, but now…Now it was nice to have someone to come home to. It was good to have someone to share his day with. He could tell her all about his work and she’d talk about her papers and essays and the things that writers worried about.
A lot of it was technical stuff that she had to get under control before she submitted her thesis to her advisor. He couldn’t help her with that, but damn, he’d do his best. He’d be
as supportive as he could because he liked her.
A lot.
More than he should at this stage of the game.
His phone rang, and Brody looked at it for a long minute before swiping to answer the call.
“This is Brody.”
“It’s Al.”
“What can I do for you?” He asked. Al was a good client, and someone who had been heavily involved in the lumberjack business for many years. He was also someone that Brody trusted completely. The two of them had spent many days fishing and many nights drinking. When Al lost his wife a few years ago, Brody had done everything he could to help him. He’d done everything he could to make sure that Al knew he wasn’t alone.
“I’m at your place,” he said carefully. “And I’m a bit worried. There’s a car here.”
“Oh, is that right?” Brody said. He tried to keep the laugh out of his voice. Why the hell was Al stopping by? And what did Al think was going on?
Did he actually think that someone as sweet and tiny and bookish as Luna could actually cause any damage at his place?
Al was fooling himself if he did. Luna was not only tiny and cute, but sweet, as well. Brody bet she’d never so much as hurt a fly – much less broken into someone’s house or done a crime.
“Yeah,” Al said carefully. He was keeping his voice low, and Brody pictured his friend crouching outside by the cars. He realized he needed to put a stop to this before Al did anything stupid, but it was just too damn funny. “Brody, I think you need to get home. There’s a woman standing in your doorway. Oh shit!”
“What?” Brody sat forward, suddenly nervous.
“Brody, she’s in the nude!”
At that, Brody couldn’t hold in his laughter. Was that the problem? Had Al never seen a naked woman hanging out on a porch? Brody knew his old buddy was reserved, but this was something else. Al seemed to notice that Brody’s reaction didn’t match his own, and he paused.
“Brody?”
“She’s with me, Al. You can go. The place is safe.”
“Oh,” Al said. Then suddenly, Brody heard a muffled noise, and Al said something else. “Sorry to bother you, miss. Just looking for Brody.”
