Marine Brother

He took a soft mound in each hand and squeezed lightly in time with the rhythm he’d created. Moving one hand to her center, he played with her clit keeping the same rhythm. Before long he felt the beginning flutters of her orgasm and gave himself permission to fall over the edge with her.

They rode the orgasm wave for hours, or minutes—might’ve been many seconds—whichever made more sense, but he didn’t care how long as he collapsed on the bed next to her completely sated. He pulled her into his side and sighed in contentment.

  “I love you, beautiful.”

  “I love you, too.”

As he soaked the last few remaining moments of alone time with her, she just absentmindedly stroked her stomach.

  “What’s the matter, beautiful?”

  “Nothing.”

“Liar.” She was lying, but he also knew that she could hear the smile in his voice. “Talk to me.”

“Do you think we’re ready for this?”

“The baby?” He knew that’s what she was referring to, but he wanted her to elaborate.

  “Yeah. Is it too soon?”

“Well, ready or not, beautiful, here we are. What are you really worried about?”

She was quiet for a moment before responding. “I just worry…” She took a deep breath. “No. It’s stupid. Forget I said anything.”

“No. Whatever it is, it’s not stupid. Just talk to me.”

She took another deep breath. “I worry that you’re only with me because I’m pregnant. I worry that I’m repeating history. I told you it was stupid.”

“Theresa, sit up with me. I want to look into your eyes when I say this.”

Once she was facing him, he took her face in his hands. “I love you, beautiful. I’ve told you before that when I saw your face light up the first time that I called you beautiful, I knew I wanted to put that smile on your face for the rest of my days. I also asked you to marry me before we even created this little miracle.”

She’d started to cry, so he brushed her tears away with his thumbs before continuing. “I’m not freaked out, and I’m not going anywhere. This baby is a tangible expression of the love we already share, not an inconvenience. A surprise, sure, but not an accident. Okay?”

She sniffed and nodded, and he kept going. “I love the future Mrs. Banner, and I would love you even if you weren’t carrying my child. We may not have exchanged vows yet, but you are already mine until death do us part.”

He kissed her and poured everything he felt into the kiss hoping it was enough that she wouldn’t second guess his feelings for her ever again.
