Another round of laughter filled the moderate-sized church in response to Reverend Gregory’s remarks. His eyes locked on his wife and daughter. God had truly blessed him. He was grateful for every dark valley and rocky mountain he had overcome. Despite his fall from grace, he had been forgiven, restored, and reassigned to another season of ministry. The newly elected pastor of Grace Fellowship Christian Church in East Atlanta was thankful for such an amazing opportunity. He considered it his rebirth, an undeserved second chance.
Nicholas’s love for God had never been in question, and neither had his commitment to serving the church. The dilemma he’d faced and had eventually overcome as a Catholic priest was his natural desire to love a woman and make her his wife versus his wish to fulfill a vow he no longer believed in. In the end, he chose both.
