**You’re welcome. But for what exactly?**

**For being in my life. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I value your input.**

**You do?** But she knew it was true because he was letting her feel his approbation.

  **I respect your abilities.**

  **Oh?**

**And you should probably start planning to qualify for your private investigator’s license.**

Tasha rolled over to face him. **I should?**

**You’ll need three years of experience working with a licensed professional and some course work. I can help you study—if you still want to be my partner. There’s no one else I’d rather have at my back.**

He wasn’t just talking about his business. He wasn’t holding back the love he felt for her. It flooded into her heart along with his worry that she might have changed her mind. How could he even doubt that?

**You feel blissful right now, but you were very angry with me before we left.** His mental tone was defensive.

**I was angry. I’m sure I will be again. But I still love you.** His surge of happiness almost took her breath away, but she’d heard what Ezra had said last night even though she’d been drowsing on Ana’s lap. **Are you sure you wouldn’t rather have an U’dahmi partner? You could be on the Council.**

**Will you share yourself with me, and let me share myself with you?**

  **Of course.**

**Even though I’ll never stop wanting to protect you?**

**Even then—though I’ll probably still give you grief over it.**

  **Then I’m sure.**

**You really want me as your full partner?** she asked.

He kissed her nose. **I do. In every possible way. For as long as you’ll have me.**

  About the Author

Frankie Robertson is the author of the romantic fantasy series Vinlanders’ Saga and the paranormal romance series Celestial Affairs and Celestial Affairs: The Trust. She grew up reading science-fiction and fantasy, but then discovered the romance genre. Now she enjoys blending the two into romances with an otherworldly twist. She has lived all over the United States, but now she and her husband make their home in the Sonoran desert of southern Arizona. Her back yard is often visited by hawks, coyotes, and bobcats, who don't play nice with the bunnies, quail, and lizards. She brings a varied background to her writing, including experience as an investigator with the Western Society for Paranormal Research.

Frankie also writes the sensual Victorian Secret Romance series, inspired by fairytales, mythology, and cryptozoology as Francesca Rose.
